  • WHY R U TALKING ABOUT FAT UR A FUCKING COW

  • a nutritionist..? why make a video about hot dogs? how bout a bannanna video?

  • Great Video. You covered a lot of points on this topic... calories, fat, nutrition, vitamins, chemicals, organic options. One more detail i would like to have known is exactly what meat parts go into hot dogs like chicken feet, pig snout, tails, feathers, intestines???

  • @TheCrosswind lips and assholes. lol

  • I'm a raw vegan, but just knowing the disgusting animal parts that are in a hot dog is enough to keep me from eating it. Screw the fat and calories. I don't want to eat pig snout and hair. *vomits*

  • Noooooooooooo I just had hot dogs and now i see this!?

  • i want hotdog

  • u r boring

  • Theres no such thing as "american food" , american food is hamburgers, hot dogs, potato chips. And america is trying to act like the healthiest and strongest people? fat chance, one reason i wouldnt want to go to america, hardly any healthy food, everything is genetically modified. In 100 years americans wont be considered americans, by spraying chemicals all over youre fields youll become a wasteland and you will be hardly considered human but some other species in my opinion.

  • Are you a fucking retard?

It's in Germany, idiot. Look on a map sometime.

  • dumbass.... i said its not a town. its a fucking city with over 5 million people in it

  • Yeah...with the comment that you previously left, that's hardly a plausible retort. You didn't know that, and it's safe to assume that based on the fact that you didn't say that in your original post.

    Cock bag.

  • i have a degree in geographicial knowledge... i think i know what im talking about. i clearly said that "frankfurt is not a town", because its not. a town has 2,000 people in it not 5 million

    cockbag

  • First, geographicial.....not real. Second, I can clearly read your previous comment. That's why you're a dumbass. I'm sure you're time in "college" would have taught you to state the facts when stating your opinion. Hell....time in high school should have taught you that. You're argument is awful....if you had known that, you would have said it in the first place.

Besides....anyone can google those numbers and stats.....your "geographicial knowledge" is shit.

  • okay i dont have degree. im in highschool but studying geography, i will graduate it in 12 weeks. i have also been to germany mutiple times, if you are so smart you would know what i meant. and if your so good at ready previous comments how about you repeat what i said in my original comment?........ seriosly clue up

  • weenez

    lolololololololololol

  • hawt dawgs are fucking sick.

I mainly just typed that to hear the audio preview of it. it makes me lmao.

  • I think they're about 400 cal and about 75% fat (at least).

  • Saturated fat from meat is proven to not cause heart problems.

Heart Problems started occring in the 1920-40's, which is when margarine and lowfat foods were being introduced.

Human beings have significantly lowered their meat intake since the 1920's.

But yeah, hot dogs aren't natural meat, so it's bad. All natural meat is good, especially chicken and salmon.

  • what about a turkey dog..is it as bad?

  • american food is the best pizza, hamburger, fries cant beat join them ;0

  • Pizza yes,but others?-simple junk.Not even a food.

  • American food = garbage.

Eat European style and you live longer.

  • Very interesting thought. thank you:]

  • Middle eastern diet.

  • 60%?

  • So, this is misleading.

Basically, 85% of the energy [calories] we get from hot dogs comes from the fat. The actual fat content shouldn't exceed 30%.

Sheesh, it seems that nowadays the word "calorie" has a negative connotation.

  • You need to redo your math there.

    12 grams of fat = 110 calories

    5 grams of protein = 20 calories

    70 Percent Fat by content

    30 percent protein by content

    85% calories from fat

    15% from protein.

  • Just from a quick Google search on the actual fat content of hot dogs, I'm seeing around 80% calories from fat, but only an approximate of 25% fat content.

Calories are the ENERGY content of food. So having 85% calories from fat just means that out of all the available energy from the hot dog, most of it comes from the fat.

  • Guy you just look at the nutrition facts label.

The hotdogs in the videos have

12 grams of fat and 5 grams of protein.

    17 grams total

100 divided by 17 multiplied by 12 and you get about 70 percent fat.

    Easy to figure out.

  • Your math is right. Your perception that Calories from fat and content of fat are the same is what's wrong.

For example, let's say you have 2 gallons of a solution. One gallon is water (which we know has no Calories) and one is fat (which we'll say has 1000 Calories.) So, the total Calories of the solution is 1000, of which 1000 are Calories from fat. According to you, since 100% of the Calories are from fat, 100% of the solution would be fat, when that isn't the case.

    Oh, I'm a girl, BTW. :)

  • I never thought that percent of calories and percentage of fat content were the same thing.

    There are;

4 calories per gram of protein.

4 calories per gram of carbohydrate and

9 calories per gram of fat.

That's why the question at the beginning of the video was carefully worded as "what percent of the calories come from fat?" instead of "what percent of the hotdog is fat?".

  • OK, so this goes back to the beginning. So what if 85% of those calories come from fat? Calories simply mean "energy." Whether they come from proteins, carbohydrates, or fat, it all ends up going towards energy.

Fat just supplies us with more calories, or energy.

  • Calories are potential energy. They don't always get used. Some time they get stored and that's why people get fat. :)~

You're body needs protein to build muscles and organs. Protein can be used to build the body or it can be burned up in energy. Fat can be stored or converted to energy but it can not build used to build muscle.

Carbohydrates can be burned of converted to fat but they cannot be used to build the body.

  • Fat, carbs and protein are called the macronutrients. Vitamins and minerals are micronutrients.

Micronutrients are necessary for just about every chemical process that happens in the body, including burning calories.

Hotdogs are not a good source of micronutrients.

  • Yes, I know all of this. The body uses carbs first, and then fat for energy. Protein is mostly used for tissue building or repairing, however, it can be used for energy if needed.

Yes, you are right; sometimes people take in too many calories and don't do enough to burn them all off.

What I was trying to get across, however, is that "85% of the calories come from fat" should not immediately be viewed as a negative thing. =)

  • 580 calories

  • i'd say 120 Cal. 60% fat...

  • i would guess about 150 cals and prob 60% is fat

  • This is ridiculous, nobody eats hotdogs in hopes of being healthy.

  • 250-700 calories depending on the hotdog (300 being an average hotdog with ketchup and a bun)

65% fat in the hotdog "meat" alone

  • why not promote a vegetarian alternative in this video? As a nutritionist you must know that persons that eat vegetarian food are much healthier, and that the common argument against it "you need protein" is just crap since there are lots of other great sources for it out there. And americans generally eat to much protein anyways, and hey, that's pretty unhealthy too.

  • most veggie dogs are made of soy and this guy doesn't believe soy is a good.

  • can u guys make a video on chicken wings?please!!thanks for all ur videos, they're awesome!!xx

  • ummm 40% fat? hmmmm

  • *gahhhhh!* im about to throw up.....im never going to coney lsland again to buy there hotdog

  • 500 calories

    30% fat

  • hmmm... 650 Calories, and 62% of said Calories are from Fat

  • 60%? i would imagine they're made up of all odds and ends everything but the oink!

  • 1 fat = 9 calories

    1 carbohydrate/proteine = 4 calories

  • 70% fat and 600 calories

  • 350/50% ?

  • What about veggie dogs? are those a good alternative?

  • Im guessing, calories = 350? Fat = 65% ?

  • shooo..and i thought a hot dog was a part of a dog's body

  • 50%

  • 250 cal, 50% fat

  • I Love Hot Dogs!!!

  • 100 cal, 5% fat

  • depends on the size and brand but i'll say 650and 65%

    also 100% heartburn later

  • 100 %?

  • Can you do a video on soy "fake meat" products?

  • Move your cue cards closer to the camera so it looks less like you are reading them : )

  • 500 calories and 20% from fat.

  • Ugh! Barf! I always knew they were bad but this hits the nail on the head. How about hamburger? Or chicken patties? Maybe a little better than hotdog?

  • Most fast food hamburgers are 50% fat. A gram of protein is 4 calories and a gram of fat is 9 calories.

So about 70 percent of a calories in a hamburger patty from from fat and only 30% come from protein.

Fast food hamburger meat is just little better than most sausage in fat content but it "meat" is retextured so it doesn't seem like it's 50% fat.

Hamburger meat in the store is 85% to 97% protein generally compared to the 50% fast food hamburger.

  • Thanks for this info. I'm never eating fast food hamburgers again, or hot dogs! Organic, hormone free meat for me only!

  • You should specify the value of raw animal fat from grass-fed and wild animals. It is a nutritional power house and has tremendous healing power. You ARE a nutritionist afterall, aren't you?

  • This video is about hot dogs, not raw fat from grass-fed or wild animals.

The fact is hot dogs are already cooked and the animal fat used isn't from wild or grass-fed animals.

  • Given. I just think that this video will give folks a warped opinion of fat. I think it's important to stress the difference between fat from processed meats and fat from clean, naturally reared animals because the difference is huge and very important.:-)

  • i would guess probably at least 500 calories or so, and like %75-80 fat. and %100 nastiness.

  • with bun, 600...65% fat

  • Wow .. all the hot dogs on this video are making me what to grab one now :P yum !

  • I assume it is 650 Calorie and 100% FAT .. but I love it !!

  • 300 Calories and 80% Fat

  • i think 350 caloreis nd 90% fat

  • Has Natalie left the building ?

  • 5/5 awesome video, if only america would read the lables more, not saying im better than everyone else, im probably just as bad, tho i really have been looking at the lables more and it does add up

  • 350 70%

  • Is baloney like the same thing?

  • guys, anything processed is bad. Food is a parishable item and should be left that way. If it has a shelf life of more than yours, than it's suspect. Check out the paleo diet. The only diet that makes any bit of sense.

  • i'm guessing a hot dog is 300 calories and 150 calories from fat...

  • What about the new "healthy" hot dogs, made mainly of protein, or the "all-natural" "no-nitrates" kinds?

Also, I'm pretty skinny. What foods would you recommend for gaining healthy weight?

  • u probable need do some muscle workouts and eat some lean meats, with mixture of complex carbohydrates. Veggies and fruits are important 2. I dont think it;s a good idea for u to consume many animal protein to boost ur weight. So have to take it slow and u may see difference in a years so. PS, getting enough sleep is also important. Best of luck

  • :-) Thanks, dude.

  • 500 Cals 75% fat

  • 100%

  • OK thats it no more hotdogs

  • Interesting info, thumbs up.

  • Are hotdogs generally that unhealthy no matter where you go? I've had hotdogs in Italy, U.S. and Japan. And only the ones in Italy and Japan are small.

  • Another substitute would be morning star veggie corn dogs (not a hotdog, but close). They have 150 calories and only 30 calories from fat. 7 grams of protein, and 6% of recommended Iron a day. Plus, they are good!

  • I have heard they taste like cardboard.

  • 450 Calories at least 50% fat...and 100% of those calories being from fat... X_x

  • hotdog= leftover flesh and connective tissue and higher than 50% fat

  • 77%

  • so what about wild meat smokies, like deer or moose? are they any better than hotdogs?

  • 400 calories, 80 percent of that is fat

  • 80 percent fat if it is not organic

  • 45 cal 15 percent fatty they taste really good.

  • 400 calories, 70% fat. I guess.

After learning the true hot-dog. HOLY $%^#! Gross, yuck, pile of fat?.... I need a hot-dog.

  • 1000kcal

    50% fat

  • I don't like where this is going. Uh...17% fat....250 calories? Watch it be like 80% fat tho...

  • You can look for low fat hot dogs and turkey dogs

  • Leftover lips and butts. Yuck.

  • I am never eating another sausage again. Never again.

  • 350 cal

    30% fat

    ... they taste horrible also.

  • Very true...

  • What about only eating hot dogs once in a while?

  • 600 Kcal.

    35% fat.

  • 75%

  • Note to self; Take a multivitamin and Ali after eating a hotdog, followed by a small dose of chemotherapy.

  • Love the picture of the dog with the nice coat :)

  • I'm glad I gave up meat.

  • 500 calorie. 80% fat

  • Great video, but your truth just took the fun out of Dodger Stadium!

  • Oh yeah!
