Holy shit, they messed up a LOT for a high school orchestra. In other words, NONE of the mass ensemble parts were in harmony and played together. One part was completely out of tune, and the next "solo" with full backing was way at the wrong volume. Most high school orchestras/bands/choirs are a LOT better then this! I would have enjoyed it anyway :D.
Apocalyptica's arrangement has only FOUR PARTS (not even one for each INSTRUMENT!). They should have used S&M's.

Ok, you do not just ask for sheet music. From what my cello teacher taught me you FIGURE it out by practicing by ear. I never got to play from sheet music until 3 months after of ear practicing. Playing a string instrument is an art. Not just playing for the heck of it. You must learn to hear pitch before you can play well.
This is good, however-when performing with a small group, it is best to use that pinky finger to hit the 'a' and 'e' otherwise the sound is just not smooth sounding. I can hear everytime someone saws on that A string and it is somewhat painful to the ear. Otherwise, this performance was pretty good.

melo-m is the apocalyptica arrangement / original arrangement. Unless you mean the original song. If that is what i compare this to then i would have to give it an f for being to slow and not being a song you want to dance to. On the other hand comparing it to a melo-m arragment it is done with great class and gets an a-.

I think that they are all growing musicians... not everyone is born into a yo yo ma. They are up there playing on stage trying and that's more than a lot of people can say. That said the director definitely could have improved some elements..

This is pretty good. I mean, yeah it does sound kind of suckish but I'm guessing it's mostly due to the camera's recorder and the position that the camera person is in. I don't think that being off to the side of the instruments is a good idea. Plus they probably didn't get all that much time to practice. Then again, I'm only guessing so I could be wrong. Hey, it's better than I can do.

I sure it is mostly the recording that is bad but i think that it would have been better that the soloist use a wooden cello, there is a reason apo don't use electric cellos. Just get a good pick up mic

The musicians do a pretty good job but the color guard dancing around kinda makes it look silly.

I sure it is mostly the recording that is bad but i think that it would have been better that the soloist use a wooden cello, there is a reason apo don't use electric cellos. Just get a good pick up mic

A very unique arrangement, quite good. It is hard to play some of Metallica's songs on guitar let alone tranlate them to orchestral instruments.

Leave the Cello to Apoclyptica and leave teh Metal with teh Orchestra to Metallica (Symphony and Metallica 1999. Epic.)
