Tom is right about the spontaneity part of horses. A long time ago I went riding with a youth group at a church we went to. I was given a horse that was shorter than the rest who suffered from short horse syndrome. It basically did whatever it wanted, like take off back to the barn just as we were heading down the trail with me on its back and break off from the group to go eat grass in the middle of a field with me still sitting on it as the saddle started to slide off from being too loose.

Oh my gosh I love him. He's so adorable and polite and such a gentleman. "Breaking wind" and "making his presence known in a way that was not entirely conducive to the seriousness I was attempting" haha. I love him, and this was a fabulous movie. I wonder how he learned to ride, and how long it took him. I've been riding for seven years, and I've never galloped as fast as they did in the cavalry charge :)
