do you have a toda or EP3 oil pump? I have a friend with toda oil pump and he has the same problem. the oil inside its not leakproof as the OEM oil pump
But none of them is confirmed to be THE root cause. New engine is almost ready, so will see how will behave this one. It's beeing build with baffled sump and we will lower also a little bit air pressure.
It may have something to do with 6,20 sec just before you got overtaken by M3. It sounds like you shifted over rev limiter. I have same car the fn2 and its done 113.000 hope I don't get this problem. I'm planing to visit Nordschleife in the summer. Its really sad to see this
@sasajungic89 Shifting down from about 7,500 rpm goes up to about 8.500 which is slightly bellow my limiter which is set up for 8.600 rpms. Could be related, but hard to tell. Two most probable reasons are:
1) oil starvation issue
2) too big pressure in the cylinder
I'm going there as well again, most probably beginning of May and then in August/September timeframe. Good luck and maybe see you there.
@Russki46 I'll share root cause as soon as I'll get it. Current theory is lubrication issue due no baffled sump installed and G forces on the circuit, but I shall know more next week when they will look into the engine.
i dont mean to be a bastard here but what condition is the charger in? im in need of a c30-94 for my golf (and an intercooler) did anything end up in the intake?

Honda should hire you to test their type-r cars. If it in the honda's type-r category then it should handle track use.

@One21P This is not stock car, I have installed Rotrex supercharge. I had no issue with stock car on the track at all.

@qrs13 I'm thinking about travel there may to, so maybe.. Do you have a new engine in it?
oil starvation is a common problem in these high revving engines.. Same with 2zzge from corolla and celica t sport!!

but what happened? rotrex failure?! :( k20 failure? :(
SuNsH4DoW 5 months ago
@SuNsH4DoW connection rod leaved the engine, most probably related to lubrication, but hard to tell what exactly failed.
qrs13 5 months ago
how you can? stock internals?
SuNsH4DoW 5 months ago
@SuNsH4DoW Yes, stock internals and no baffled sump.

@eatthisvr6 Rotrex is most probably fine, no visual damage. But I'll continue with this setup, so no spare parts available...
