I remember this song from my childhood... My mother played it in our car's cassette player all winter... It brings back beautiful memories - not because of any reference to Jesus or religion but simply being with her. I am very saddened to see these disgusting fights between Christians commenting on such a beautiful and special song to me. I am not Christian any longer because this inherent hatred that thrives in that community. But I still love this song and I love my mother.
The greatest of all commandments is to Love. Love the Lord above all, love our neighbors, the poor, and even our enemies. This is the very fabric and natural energy of the universe that we were created from. Jesus is Love. Our Savior loved us soo much that he gave his life to pay for all of our sins who simply believe in him. If we believe in him and have his spirit with us We Love Everyone as our brothers and sisters and everything. With that Love Jesus accepts us before The Father.
It sounds like you are doing the judging, that is supposed to be left to the Lord. Remember when he said he who is without sin cast the first stone? When he was on this earth he spent a lot more time with prostitutes and the destitute. You people really remind me of the Pharisees and Jesus rebuked them for their ways. He loves every one of his creation while he hates our sin he does offer a way to be set free from it. Don't forget we ALL fall short of the glory of God.

My dad started there - the Bible - then went around to see what church was worshipping and living out what he was reading. He found what he said was closest to what he read. I love this beautiful song. Amy is so beautiful and talented and brings us much pleasure with her wonderful voice. I love the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee anytime of year but winter with its snow is my favorite. This is a perfect song to play while driving in the mountains.

Don't hate just yet, but I'm an atheist. That still doesn't change the fact that my favorite holiday is christmas, and I think a lot of that has to do with all of the Amy Grant my mother used to play when I was a child. Listening to this song brings me right back to those times. To me christmas is about casting aside differences and embracing a universal love for one another. I remember this song from my childhood... My mother played it in our car's cassette player all winter... It brings back beautiful memories - not because of any reference to Jesus or religion but simply being with her. I am very saddened to see these disgusting fights between Christians commenting on such a beautiful and special song to me. My dad started there - the Bible - then went around to see what church was worshipping and living out what he was reading. He found what he said was closest to what he read. Jesus said that nothing would prevail against His church. We do come with instructions. When followed, they do work.

We are born again, sin free. However, it is the Holy Spirit that enters us that guides our ways. We "learn" to listen and follow the direction. It takes time, and God does know that. And, to His children (1Cor 6:3): Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?
Despite that, I do not judge anyone, but rather believe God (John 12:48): "He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him — the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day."
That includes (1Cor7:10-11), (James4:4), and (1Cor6:9).

What happens when you get off track, talk nasty about people God saved and gave salvation, and do not support the Good News of the NT? Who do you tell- Youtube? If that is the case, your relationship with God is through a computer...not a spiritual connection, but an ethernet connection.

My mom had 2 Amy Grant Christmas CDs, and we played them every year while we put the tree together. It drove my brother crazy, but, to me, Christmas just isn't Christmas without Amy Grant in the background.

I love this beautiful song. Amy is so beautiful and talented and brings us much pleasure with her wonderful voice. I love the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee anytime of year but winter with its snow is my favorite. This is a perfect song to play while driving in the mountains.

Please don't criticise her for being sexual. Christian or not, people are sexual beings and love comes above faith according to the bible. Things are not perfect especially regarding relationships.

I was searching for this song for some time. Thanks for posting. Our family lived in Nashville for two years when our kids were small and we have great memories of the Christmas season there. Amy Grant has the perfect voice for this song, too.

I am glad you have fond memories of your parents and the time you spent with them. I lost my Dad on October 5, 2004 but still have my Mom. i love this song, i can remember hearing it for the first time when i was like 10 or 11 and just fell in love with this song. Being from Nashville it really hits home with me, we may not always have white, or on the other had warm Christmas' but they are filled with love and i must thank my family for that, but this song always makes me think of my family at Christmas time!!!

Don't hate just yet, but I'm an atheist. That still doesn't change the fact that my favorite holiday is christmas, and I think a lot of that has to do with all of the Amy Grant my mother used to play when I was a child. Listening to this song brings me right back to those times. To me christmas is about casting aside differences and embracing a universal love for one another. I still feel that love every christmas season, and Amy Grant has a lot to do with that.

@hoytsie take this form someone who use to live in Nashville... its great for tourist but don't move there its like every other city... the grand Ole opry is great.. so is the opry-land hotel( stayed there a few times) yes this song is about my home don't get me wrong... if y'all have any questions about Nashville im happy to answer them

When Amy sings about loving God, the obvious question to ask her is: Then, why dont you believe Him and keep His commandments? In view of Gods statement that the sexually immoral have no inheritance in the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10), how can Amy Grants on-going state of adultery (Mark 10:12) give witness to Gods Kingdom?
