3 down. I went in first, Elisabeth followed me and then Daan went last with the camera. We shot the video after carefully assessing the dive site and after passing through for a couple of times.
The most critical part of the dive is the ascent. The timing allowed me to assist if anything went wrong with either of them and they covered me.
wow, there are just so many cool things to see in dahab! I might drop by egypt for a week on the way to poland this summer
ive gone freediving in ~25 meter deep reefs and i was comfortable with it (and yeah, lol, it usually is scuba territory.. one guy almost spat out his regulator when he saw me show up with my spear sling, cause the water was a little murky down there.)
good times.. i hope i can get to dahab while i'm there and freedive these formations.
yeah.. not gonna lie, i do have a tendency to do that.. but usually only in water a few hundred feet from shore and only a few meters deep. Stuff like this I'm a lot more careful about though, because in shallow water, when you feel like you're out of air, its a few kicks to the surface. In water like this though.. what you have left may not be enough.
I'm thinking of upping to a mono, what do you have? the andronov type are seriously expensive.. I'm thinking just a waterway M1 L or M2 L.
yeah lol I've been lead in circles.. no stop to the confusion.
When you recommend M2 MD, what disciple do you have in mind? I hear they burn up too much oxygen for constant weight, but work better in dynamics. Seeing as actual reef/lake diving (what I'm primarily focused on) is a mix of both.. I'm not sure which i should head for. I don't want to overpower an LD, but spending hours in the water with a MD might hurt ability to stay out for extended periods of time, ruining the experience...
Yes, all footage was taken freediving. Otherwise you'd be too slow. I had to realize that holding the camera steady while diving with a mono fin is practicly impossible. So for shooting, always go for bi fins!
Stupid.
My opinion.

Very very great. Nice couple dive, could be heavy to folow you with camera.
Kerasub 2 years ago 2
You should be freediving to film that. Then, It's not too difficult.
NitramRellim 2 years ago
I can only dive 12 meters. How can you dive that much deep?
I want to learn how to do that.
26impulse26 2 years ago
You should take a course then. I'm sure you can do that too if you really want. Just keep swimming... ;)
NitramRellim 2 years ago
How did You changed you masks underwater?
perhaps it is collecton of separate clips?
sofabike 2 years ago
Noone is changing masks. The surface parts are different clips cut together, the dive itself is in one piece.

good luck with that... but remember, never dive alown. Speros tend to forget about that...

I see you've done your homework... I use the waterway model 2 middle stiffness. Best fin to start with.
