Yeah- I remember another guy getting video that day - He was using a Canon... XL2, I think. And I remember he had a funky battery set up to power an external drive - like a FireStore. It was cool.

Canon XL2? Yes. Nice pro-grade - but standard definition only. The XH and XLH series are in the same park but do standard def DV and high def HDV format video...

To thenextparko: Sorry dude but this is South Carlsbad, a little south of Tamarack. Directly behind the camera would be that giant smokestack at the power station. Trust me I know, I've surfed there every day since I was like 6.

Back about 2000 - 2001 the plant began pumping out really hot water. clearly visible by the steam coming up in the late morning, we kept surfing as our wax melted. Get this, when we decided to come in we noticed 100's of dead fish in the shallows and all over the beach.... It was disgusting, we never reported it, but as I look back, I wish i had....
