  • I think that spinny thing is what is used for powering that board.

  • I would love to see him live! But it's such a long way from Germany to Japan = (

  • GREAT SHOW

  • 男性ナレーター、サエキ?

  • if he just had as much money as Daft Punk he could do some crazy stuff on stage

  • @Maxaker67 But you know, Susumu is much better :P

  • BERSERKERU FOTHETHS

  • guts is the great fighter ever

  • leave it to birkenau to bring us the best rare vids.

  • Now THIS ist music :) no, this ist arts! his music has to be in Museum Of Arts ;)

  • Thanks Absent that was interesting. I didn't mean weird in a bad way. If we weren't all big fans we probably wouldn't be watching this obscure video :)

  • What the hell is that wheel?

  • @LordTyphoon

I think it's powering some of the instruments in addition to solar power. He's a weird guy.

  • @hmp22 Hmmm.

One man's weird guy is another man's innovator. (But I agree, he IS weird. ^_^ )

  • @LordTyphoon hmp22 is right. For this tour (Solar Ray), Hirasawa used solar power and that power-generating wheel (Hatsukenkikaji) to power his equipment. The wheel is attached to a custom-made sampler. When he spins the wheel, it acts like a turbine to power the sampler. It only needs to be spun while the sampler is in use, that's why you see him spinning it only at certain times (when he wants that choral background).

  • @LordTyphoon Part II, heheh. If you notice the jacket he's wearing, that's another musical instrument called the Yamaha Miburi. He doesn't appear to be using it in this song, but it's a suit with MIDI triggering capabilities. The armbands attached to the jacket are the controls.

Okay, you got more than you bargained for with your question, sorry, but I just love this guy's work!

  • @AbsentWithoutLeaving Hahaha that's okay, I like his stuff too, and I find stuff like this amazing. Thanks for the extra precision :D

  • I hope he still make the music to the new Berserk series. Loved his songs in the old anime.
