  • Year right best dresser... It really takes lots of guts and expression to be dressed like all bussinessman and politicians in the world.

  • @youlong1234

You have no sense of style, mate!

  • Gentlen' elegance!By the way,do we have the artist like him these days?

  • Only cool...

  • Robert is legend

  • Ub40 had just finished a world tour and this was the only concert they did in their home town. I remember me and a few mates got tickets, well word got about in our home town of Clacton-on-sea Essex that it was on. We ended up booking a 53 seater coach full of family and friends gr8 day out

  • "CANT HELP FEELING YOURE A-DDIC-TED TO LOVE!"

    Great song.

  • Jfranscati, I got a better song for Tiger: "It Serves Me Right to Suffer" by John Lee Hooker

  • I always thought he was an absolutely beautiful fox and was shocked when I saw him on the TV a short while before his death. Yeah, like age is not changing me too. He had a serious interest in the music of the world. How I loved this beautiful man.

  • this song should be Tiger's official song, after all he is addicted to LOVE

  • jfrascati, I believe you are mistaken. I suspect you are referring to Tiger's addiction to SEX.

  • 1989 [Live] Great Horns

  • Very good song.

    Good performance!

  • too bad, great voice...nice range...but check out the circles under his eyes and the pained look...no joy...classic RX drug face....I know...too bad

  • I have no personal knowledge of Mr. Palmer, but from what I have read about him, he did not do drugs; he was a workaholic and basically worked himself to death, touring and recording. In his BBC obit, it says "... he was not interested in the trappings of rock star fame.

"I loved the music, but the excesses of rock music never really appealed to me at all," he said. "I couldn't see the point in getting up in front of a lot of people when you weren't in control of your wits."

  • This was meant as a reply to "revdennisr" by the way. Not sure why it didn't link up properly.

I think this is a great intense performance by Mr. Palmer! His vocal performance is in tune, nicely nuanced, and is rhythmically sharp as a tack. I can't see any indication he isn't cold sober. As a comparison, check out the Rod Stewart live version listed to the right.

  • bloody hell! was at this gig. St Andrews. Birmingham FC. also featured Rankin Roger, The Pogues and Alap (bangra band) awesome day out

  • @midukcple didnt 'The Beat" make an apearance too?

  • Palmer, the best dresser in Rock History!

  • I wish the volume to this was higher.

  • He was such a badass. RIP.

  • He was such a class act; always wore a suit and tie. R.I.P.

  • Who is the drummer?

    he is amazing

  • Dony Wynn is the drummer here. But as for the original studio recording, it was Tony Thompson. Nevertheless, both awesome drummers.

  • Ha, I'm a pervey. I thought he said "a baby young is all you crave". He says oblivion is all you crave. Ha ha. Should I just die now?

  • I can just see and hear the horn blowers saying to one another, "if he can, I can" wrt to going and being in front. And I can just see where Robert Palmer encouraged that.

Or was I just too long left out in a breeze as an infant?

  • Does he jam? Does he jam!?

  • Thanks for you talent Robert ( RIP)

    In Memoriam.

  • 「運」what??

  • Man! they really ZOOMED in on his face didn't they? I don't mind..he was a very handsome man...with gorgeous eyes!! oh yeah, he had a great voice too!... LoL!

  • I got this bitch utubefanforever off of youtube a few weeks ago. She claimed to know Robert Palmer personally and when you would ask the dumb bitch to tell stories about him, she would get mad and say she didn't have time to go on and on about him. Proof that she was a liar about knowing Robert Palmer. What some people will do to get attention and then can't handle it when they get it and then turn around and stab you in the back when they want to get rid of you.

  • It's ashame there's so many attention seekers in the World, if she's gonna lie then she should at least have thought ahead for stories!!! Ignore her.lol. xxx

  • Robert was just friggin amazing! I wish he were still alive, the industry could have used his help by now.

  • Robert and his favorite band. I NEVER,NEVER,NEVER get tired of seeing him or them. B.J.,Eddie,Frank,Dony,etc.

    Rux

  • 1988

  • I miss him so much. Such a pro. Such a talent.

  • Brilliant of course. But can anyone understand what he's sayin at the end? something bout thanking UB40 horn section thats all i got haha... RIP Robert

  • I was there when this was filmed, it was at Birmingham City football stadium UK. Also performing were alaap, the pogues and ofcourse UB40. I believe there was a film made of the concert called 'UB40 sings the Blues' (blues is the nickname of Birmingham City FC).

  • I don't suppose you'd know how to get a copy of this concert video do you? I remember watching with my Dad and I'd love to buy him a copy (mad UB40, Robert Palmer and Blues fan!!)

  • Woohoo! Loving it! Thanks for posting this, and I'm hoping to see more, I can't get enough of Palmer and UB40 performing together! Hell, I can't get enough of Palmer, persiod, and this group just added a dimension to a man already steeped in musical layers too thick to count... And thanks to Robert, who we love and miss.
