Something is wrong here. The government said it had to reduce the water from reservoirs to avoid the SNAFU which was last year and encouraged farmers to plant early. What gives??? These idiots had not best make the mistake it did last year.

I don't get it... how can they have floods and drought, lol. They clearly have tons of water in the dam... use that for crops. Then you have less danger of floods when rain season comes as well. Granted getting it there could be problematic but probably not that hard.

@Vire70 most "natural" disasters are actually manmade due to lack of risk assessment. The issue here as the story portrays it is that the Thailand government has an infrastructure problem- they have plenty of water but no way to deliver it to those who need it, and no way to channel it away from populated areas when it falls too heavily. Many American regions have similar issues (look at Southern California!).
