  • @juiceforjoe Like this one better?

  • @bfl800fi Search "ValentinaLisitsa Chopin Nocturne Op 48 No.1 C minor"

  • @bfl800fi ill take a look

  • marry me.

  • skilful but too emotional.

  • @Mysiblingsasuke Too emotional doesn't even describe it. Sorry but Chopin must be turning in his grave at this performance. Pro or not, she should know better. Chopin would never have put his audience to sleep, if he even had one, for his music wasn't written to please others necessarily. But I can tell you it wasn't meant to put a lion to sleep. And who told her to hammer the octaves in slow motion. Sorry but listen to Rubenstein and others of his ilk. Stop drooling over the piece and play it.

  • @marcose1994 yes, I have a pleasure to listen to Shopin and with good player. And she has a talent as we all know. so I couldn't resist leaving a comment. I'm on the "want to sleeping" side you know (or may be a lion). As far as I think it is good balance of romantic complicated score and playing like a flowing. Thank you.

  • @marcose1994 A look at me, I'm a jackass who can't enjoy a piece because it wasn't played the way he wants! Everything must be played the exact same way because Chopin said so! Even though he's been dead for almost 200 years and we have never heard him play before! That doesn't matter though, because I'm a know-it-all!!! I'm so special! Instead of leaving, I'm going to bash a pianist's style of playing!!! WOHOOOO!!! I'm cool.

  • Beautiful performance; however, "Lento" as well as the Italian for "slow," indicates a mood as well. This is a lament, a sorrow, a heaving of the breast in sobs! You begin at fewer than 40 bpm (minimum in some schools regarding "Lento") and then use so much "rubato," it is difficult to pick up the beat. Pick the tempo up to at least 50 for the first section. Your "rolls" in the second section are very good - again, a wee bit faster. The third section is flawless! Well done! :)

  • @icxcrex you realize you are 'correcting' a professional player?

  • I think it's played far too exaggerated. it is no longer a nocturne.

    There are many better recordings

  • None of you could come close to playing it this well, so just sit back and enjoy.

  • Why always include the performers' age, who gives a fuck? (excuse my language) We're not supposed to be interested what's actually being played but rather be impressed by something difficult played at a relatively young age?

  • What matters with your age here? Listen to Giles, Rubinstein, Sofronitsky instead of this dragging.

  • She plays very good, very emotional but, isn't it supposed to be a nocturne?

  • @tasteism what does nocturne mean to you? I'm just interested, not picking or anything.

  • absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing your talents.

  • Too melodramatic!!!

  • Her performance of the section from 5:00 onwards is so powerful it has me shaking.

  • The section of the piece from 5:00 onwards is so intense and emotional, and this is brought out well in this performance, with her rubato and dynamics.

  • I have past 16, and listening to this makes me feel like I have failed in life ._.

    Aya's amazing.

  • A beautiful piece and a good playing but still I think that it is too slow

  • @Luchetafight

Chopin's pieces can be played however u like. it isnt strict at all.

  • @deerodchan mm... you can play it however you like but the magic about chopin is to play it like he wrote it and then it sounds beautiful :/

  • @Luchetafight

I agree. But take Chopins Waltz op 64 no 2 for instance. Everyone plays that waltz extremely fast, however some modern pianist play the tempo the way it "should." Regardless of the tempo every virtusio pianist has its own unique way of making it sound "right"

  • @deerodchan I guess you are right, I already listen to that piece ^^ it's just that this nocturne sounds better for me if played faster, maybe you could listen to other performers and see the difference :)

  • @Luchetafight I've been listening to this exact interpretation since it came out a year and a half ago. I have no infatuation with her so I dont believe I'm biased by saying that this is one of the best I've heard. Some of Chopin's direct pupils stated that when one performs Chopin's works, it is paramount to be FLUID. This interpretation is amazing. I think it captures the very emotional epitome of Chopin and brings out more colors than some of the professionals.

  • @avalanche183 well if that's what you think then I won't say a thing because everyone thinks different, but I've listened to this piece the faster way and for me it sounds better that way :)

  • Its really different from the versions i heared so far. Ofcourse everyone got a bit different interpretation but this one is just so moch different from all of them. I cant reallly say, if I like it more ore less then for example Claudio Arraus version but its really nice to hear a really different interpretation of the Nocturne and for sure its a good interpretation which so much feelings.

  • Beautiful .

    Greetings from Poland .

  • Beautiful !

    Serena

  • i love this.

  • Wow if this is Aya, this is amazing. Defintely sounds more mature than a 16 year old!!!!! My goodness. I loved this interpretation the most out of the many I've heard!!!! Good job!

  • Maravilloso, es una de las mejores interpretaciones que he escuchado de esta pieza.

    Un cordial saludo Aya.

    live Aya fron Spain!!!!

  • great interpretation..

    and she was only 16...

    speechless..

  • I've listened to perhaps 20 recordings of this Nocturne, and none of them came close to the musical depth of this performance. Your emotional power is matchless. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

  • I agree. If I ever learn this song (which I plan to) I hope my dynamics will be just like hers.

  • @12ferdberfel52

have you listened to the interpretation of valentina igoshina? she has in my opinion the best interpretation of this piece. this version is quite different from the other interpretations of this beautiful nocturne. but i also like it, although i think it is a little to slow and sometimes too harsh.

  • i luv frederic chopin, even in death he's romantic. aya is amazing.

  • Such beauty.

  • absolutely .. magnificent

  • It seems as though a lot of even the big names in piano fail to make the chromatic octaves 'fit' into the music, making it seem like the composition itself is flawed. You manage to give every part of this composition a musical significance. The best interpretation!

  • Wow...at first I was gonna say she tried to make it too dynamic but nevermind...this is just so beautiful I can feel those chords inside me...wow.

  • Lovely playing Aya. The Liszt Academy may have refined your virtuoso skills, but clearly the musical understanding was always there.

  • Aya************

    Beautiful rendition!! Brava!!

    Antonio

Nagatomi San, anatana no "piano playing" i desu!

  • Clair playing Aya.

    Compliments

  • Aya-san! I love the way you played this Nocturne! This one is the most difficult Chopin's nocturne of all, right? I am very impressed!

  • It's a wonderful & beautiful played!!!!!

  • You are simply amazing. I love the way you play the piano. You truly inspire me to be a better classical pianist. Thank you Aya. I'm looking forward to future posts!

  • A very powerful performance Aya. I'll bet it was a nightmare getting that perfected, but you seem to have managed it in the end. Fantastic effort. Lots of stars from me.

    Love

    Lalita

  • Really nice!! Thank you for sharing!

  • always love it when you update!

    Thanks!

  • Aya, congratulations!!

Te deseo lo mejor en tu carrera, muy bonita interpretación un saludo.

  • very nice!! Thanks you!! Must have been tough to keep time on this one

  • haha what a treat. i always loved this piece.

  • very emotional! I love it!

  • The slow tempo brings an emotional effect here. Well done. Thanks again, Aya.
