  • what are your views of the dog visionary II?

  • I wish I had a Grip so much but the availability where I live is nightmarish.

  • shit, batoning with a folder (especially while locked) is fucking abuse lol, but I mean hell at least it gives you an idea of how tough the knife is

  • For an outdoor heavy use folder i use a CS Recon one

  • Best Benchmade knife test I have seen to this date keep up the great vids and reviews

  • that would qualify as abuse i would never drive it into wood but with that being said its awesome to see that the 100 bucks or so you'll pay for this knife is totally worth it i own several benchmades including a pre-production number mini griptillian and ill have to say i love it and when benchmade says life time warranty they mean it ive had to send it back before because of something i did , i didnt have my original recipt but they fixed it sharpened it and sent it back ASAP

  • Nice to see Crocket show up on a Blade HQ review! The Bechmade Griptilian is definitely a hard charging little folder. As a medic, I opted for the modified sheepfoot blade on my Griptilian. It's been a great blade from day one! I've had it about 3 years now.

    Great Review!

  • I wonder if the folks at spyderco watched this. There are so many ways to use your folder. and I get his point. If you dont try it out batoning locked up then how will you know if it will fail on the average joe? I own a grip, 710, and a 915, a native, an endura, and a resilience. Still looking for the game winner.

  • You don't baton a folder with the blade locked. You unlock it and then baton it.

  • Very nice video, definitely would enjoy this type of video from you guys.

    Subbed.

  • Great video guys.

  • you have play?........

    My recon 1 doesn't!

  • the field testing is much better than the normal reviews... more field testing please!

Though i will take the normal reviews as opposed to nothing.

  • Great job guys. You're in my neck of the woods.

  • Crocket is awesome! Great vid!

  • way cool. I'd love to see more vids like this.

  • i like my grip, but i wish i didn't get the partially serrated one..

  • Great video man!! Love how you guys edit! Have this as my starting video!

  • This is one of my favorite knives that I do not own... I jus cant afford it right now but an awesome looking knife and I have heard nothing but awesome things about it...

  • Outstanding. With Crocket there to help put the Grip through its paces, this is a very credible and tough test for the popular Benchmade folder. Well done, friend.

  • my fave knife:]!best test/review ive seen on ANY knife:]

  • Great torture test/review. Looks like a great knife!

  • great video, would love to see more like this. Beautiful country.

  • Crocket20! :D

  • Crocket is the man! Love his vids.

  • When you purchased the manix... some of us recommended the griptillian based on what you wanted... Can't say we didn't tell you so.. LOL. I have the mini and love it... I do love my spydercos though. Great vid Crocket.

  • To be brutally honest I've found your blade presentations to be a bit rubbish. But this...this is something else in the most awesome of ways. Crocket is great in front of the camera, photography and production values are ace. I hope Benchmade gave you some money because this is amongst the best commercials for a folder I've seen.

Please do keep this up, as a consumer and customer this is what I want. Great work!

  • More like this please

  • Couldn't have picked a better person for this video, Crocket is first class all the way! Looking forward to more videos like this from BHQ. Be well & Stay safe! -Tim

  • Awesome vid, thanks Crocket and Ben!

    Excellent editing too Ben.

  • @Smith28Adventure I second that on the editing part.

  • @Smith28Adventure Thanks! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it.

  • awesome video with Crocket! I'm going to sub the channel for sure! I really need to save up and get a good camera like yours though! What Kind is it if I might ask?

  • @MrByronodmon We shot most of it on a Canon XA-10... it was the first time out with it and it's champion.

  • and upcoming, we use a plastic spoon to open a can of beans :)

I watched it all, and I appreciate why you're doing what you're doing (in a sadistic sort of way) but to many of us it's like beating your pet/guard dog, you're the Michael Vick of folding knives, REPENT !!! this sort knife abuse MUST STOP !!! :)

    love the vid,

came from the crocket recommendation subbed

  • Keep at it BHQ, it seems like a great series.

  • That was a great idea to bring Crocket in on this review. I've subbed him for quite some time, and of all the videos I've favorited, most of them are his.

  • I must ask, which camera was used to make this video? Thanks.

  • @jackjetpilot Canon XA-10

  • Nice video. Nice to see blades getting worked. Some are for show but I enjoy working my knives.

  • My favourite and only knife I'd buy for long-term use.

Lost 2 already, had to switch to a less expensive Kershaw that I can afford to hurt and use.

    Thanks for the video.

  • Duracoated tripod ftw!!

  • Another Cr0Cket fan here.

Dude, I have to say you are a fantastic camera man and editor.

You and Cr0cket make a great team.

    Subscribing

  • @Smokin07ram Thanks for the compliment. Honestly, Crocket is a riot to hang with. It was my privilege to go run around with him for an afternoon.

  • I'm a Crocket fan! Great video!

  • Cr0cket sent me, great work on the video!

  • This was nice, more like this

  • Love this new vid!!

  • Cr0ket does great reviews I enjoy his videos

  • yeah that would hurt me on any benchmade , thanks for using yours lol

  • Thanks KnifeHQ for the opportunity. Ben the video turned out great! I hope to snatch the pebble from your hand someday ; ) Seriously great vid. And most important, it was just fun getting out to the mountains and having a good time.

  • @Cr0cket20 Anytime you want to work on your pebble snatching, let me know. What a riot this was. Thanks again!

  • @KnifeHQ The funny thing is that if it broke, then benchmade would freak out on you. Since it's good press, they're probably just enjoying the praise of their excellent design.

  • Probably would never do that to my Griptillian but good to know I can.

  • i like it, what did you have on your chest?

  • @sk8r706 It's the Ribz front pack. Very functional and I can't leave without it.

  • i enjoyed the shit right out of this, more vids like this please. makes me feel warm and fuzzy for owning that mini griptilian that i won from you guys.

  • Well done.

  • Great video . Nice knife ...but weak!! . Tri-ad lock is strong!!

  • Very well done...all around!

  • AWESOME VIDEO!

  • Did NOT expect to see crocket but it was a pleasant surprise =D

  • That was very cool. I love seeing collaborative videos like these. Nice work, guys.

  • Awesome video. Makes me want a griptilian again.

  • Great video, and no doubt Benchmade makes a great knife. Bit their prices are a little out there. I have a Grip and its a fantastic blade, but they are pricey.

  • Awesome video guys, keep up the good work I'm sure everyone appreciate you taking time out of your personal life to do these videos.

  • Nice!!! Hope you guys produce more videos like this!

  • @Cr0cket20 Awesome job man! Hope you can do more of these! Great work!

  • Great concept! Love the "team approach"!! Good luck with the new series!

  • wow more of these vids plz :D

  • gotta love crocket20

  • Great vid guys and such a great knife

  • awesome quality on this video guys.

  • production quality was through the roof on this one! nutnfancy watch out! lol

  • Well done Blade HQ, great video hope we see more like that! Very worthwhile and Crocket gives sensible advise without loads of BS. Overall great job!!

  • Do the paramillie next.

  • Hey Crocket if they give you knives for making videos thats a great gig.I m kinda stoked on Blade HQ,I mean they are putting effort into selling knives...And thats cool.

  • Crocket!!!!! Great review guys!

  • This was AWESOME guys.

  • Great video and amazing scenery...where was this shot, generally speaking?

  • @Speedemon8793 We shot it in Utah... it's a gorgeous corner of the world.

  • @gavkoo You were helping me understand as a friend and giving an opinion in preference, and it's quite agreed ! Thankyou mike I understand!

  • Do more videos like these! They're super fun to watch. Also, props to the cinematographer.

  • Great test!

  • You guys should test the Endura next.

  • great review! thanks for not being scared to put a knife through that! great stuff guys!

  • Nice vid. Hey Crocket, I am in the camp that would not dream of doing that to my blade but thanks for doing it to yours or, I should say, Blade HQ's. Mel Pardue is an excellent and very experienced designer.

  • @gavkoo Thankyou for clearing that up mike

  • Ok so I guess what I seen from cold steel is a sales pitch about the triad lock, the bench made grip Perdue is 93$ on amazon I guess my figures were wrong on that as well! Sorry for the mis information the griptillian is a better buy even if it costs more :)

  • @ryanrrx its just my opinion, doesnt have to be others opinion. as for the facts, i only correct whats wrong. the pick between the knives is always up to each person.

  • When I got my grip it was a dream come true .. And I would never do that to it but if I had to use it like this I now know I could :) but I hope I don't !! Lol

  • Making a second post to say separately that, a 60$ American lawman would have not broken the lock in the tests you have done, for half the price of the full size knife the cold steel American lawman would have been my choice over this knife, realisticly the new triad lock is just better stronger and works better!:)

  • @ryanrrx griptilian cost 67 dollars so it nothing like twice the price of a lawman. its the same exact price category and it has superior blade steel. imho aus8 shouldnt be on a 60 dollar knife. and axis lock is better, more convenient and safer. doesnt have to be stronger to be safer. most self injuries happens when closing and opening the knife, which is where backlock fails a lot. strength of the lock only protects from idiocy, but convenience of action protects from accidents... imho

  • @gavkoo If the tests from this where done on a lockback the blade would have probably gone right back and cold steel would actually improve their blade steel if they switched to the 8cr13mov that spyderco and kershaw use on their chinese ranges

  • Interesting video however I recall having a conversation with gavkoo about batoning with a folder, he educated me on the fact it should be done in a folding position ie 3/4 of the way open not locked! I agree with this fact! I hope you find it useful as well!

  • This is a great review/test video. Make more!

  • Clearly, this 551 needs to be placed in foster care: I volunteer! Great video.

  • this is the type of reviews that i have been waiting for, outstanding guys!

  • Holy shit man the scenery is amazing!!

Also, this video is a milestone, words cannot describe how fucking gnarly it is to see the BladeHQ guys out in the field knifin'

  • @MPSecare Milestone... I like the sound of that. Thanks!

  • thx so much bhq

  • Good job Ben and Crocket!. @Bladehq rocks! Is that D2 steel on that Grip?

  • @SuperCrichards Thanks! Nope, it's 154CM Stainless.

  • A mighty fine piece of video production! Extremely well produced! Don't forget! If you ever need any voiceover work, let me know! I'd be glad to help out!

  • @RedGladius I haven't forgotten you at all... we'll be in touch.

  • Ill admit I did the wigglys in my chest when you started hammering and prying but im very pleased to see a BM walk it off and to get prazed my a spyderco fan since most wouldnt touch a BM

  • more contests :D

  • Love my 551, but I must say this is more than I'd ask of it. Good vid guys, nice to see this type of collaboration.

  • Great to see a collaboration guys! And test...

  • More of this!
