@BelloItaliano2009 It's the Concerto for Two Pianos, K 365, 3rd movement. The sample from the movie is taken from about 3 minutes into the recording from Amadeus' OST.
For the most part, I think the director's cut scenes were well-eliminated. But without the seduction scene, it's difficult to understand why Constanze hates Salieri so much at the end of the movie.
In reality Mozart's scores like all other composers show many redrafts and rescoring. That he is a genius is beyond doubt. So please don't bring mindless rap crap into this discussion.
I forgot how good this movie was. It was nominated for 53 awards and won 40. American Film Inst. named it 53 out of 100 for its 100 years of movies. Personally, one of my favs.

yes; i thought, from the theatrical version, that it was because he decided not to help them by simply walking out (after he drops the sheets), but now i see it better. Yes, her intolerance of him in the end is more meaningful after seeing this version.
I think I prefer the original version without the added scenes just a little better... The bit where Salieri talks to Mozart's wife about 'compensation' for getting him the position DOES make it make more sense I think when she expresses such dislike for him later, but it makes Salieri just a little bit more 'evil' than I think he was meant to be; jealous, yes, and willing to exert his power to keep Mozart from rising too much, but not quite as low as this scene here.
How dare that fucker salieri step on the work of a genius!? Asshole, jealousy is definitly a theme here n a message to all fucken haters this day in age!
8:01........this is the very moment Salieri should have terminated his post and fled even the whole of Austria to get away from Mozarts growing all encompassing shadow!.............England would have loved to have adopted the mighy Salieri!
Just look at the expressions on (F. Murray Abraham) face playing
(Salieri), he is marvellous. you will see face of hatred, feeling of wonder, pleasure and distaste at the same time. He deserved the oscar for best actor w/out any question
The scripts maybe be fictional according to history but I understand Salieri's jealousy towards Mozart. One spends years and years of dedication towards music but you fall short comparing to a gifted musician such as Mozart. Mozart didn't have try it came naturally to him since birth. Salieri says it was taking dictation and writing a perfect piece of music which is nearly impossible to accomplish. Makes you think if god really loves you based on this type of comparison.
Also, the originals were the first writing of the music. These drafts showed all the corrections that the composer made (usually many) before the music was finished. Salieri wanted to see the originals so he could understand Mozart's mental processes as he composed. He was astounded to find no corrections, because the music was finished perfectly in Mozart's mind before even the original was drafted. This was unbelievable, and another source for Salieri's tremendous jealousy. Lohren
@LeadjaJay1 because any composer knows that his original pieces are more than treasures..they are priceless...and knowing how composers were close to being at the top of the food chain during those times guarding your masterpieces from competitors would be wise...which was y he was surprised but I'm sure he realized that Mozart's wife didn't understand the treasure she was holding much kike africans back in the day did not realize how precious oil was before we were had by the westerners.
Very clever writing here. While she indulges herself on the rare treats, he is indulging on the rare, sweet music. It is to show the delicacy of the fine music.
@Mstulip66 It's exerpts from 5 pieces: In order on the movie: Concerto for flute and harp K 299 2nd movement, Symphony No 29 K 201 1st movement, Concerto for 2 piano's K365 3rd movement, Symphonie Concertante K 364 1st movement, Mass in C minor K 427 the Kyrie.
I have never seen the uncut version. This is a major change where Salieri tries to get a piece of ass in exchange for the post. I'm not sure if I like the other version as much where he simply walks out.
