Well, the idea that they pitch contains a on/off switch. so if you dont feel comfortable, then just leave it off. obviously, its not on the iPhone, so we don't know, but I think it would be interesting to see an actual copy of the app.

im sry but i can track you down easily with my home made apparature with only ur cell phone number u dont even have te call or anything because ur phone is often searching for the net so if u are afraid of trackers/pedo's/stalkers and police u just dont use any cellphones.....
i think the idea is great and im sure it wil come in just a few months

you have so many wrong arguments:
- GPS doesn't work inside buildings (bar, house,...)
- iPhone is not the first device with that features, N95 had all that before
- Nokia Sensor is a very old app to do that over Bluetooth
- Bluetooth works inside a building, you need it for someone near anyway
- tons of stalkers have had your "super idea", even inside Apple
- you sound so dumb saying that it would be better than Internet

its a good idea but the only problem with the idea is that the wifi isn't available everywhere. You would probably have to connect one iphone to another iphone instead of the internet.

it isn't very difficult, the nintendo DS has the feature already. with infalred. and of course the radius is limited, but you can definately scout anyone within your location, converse, etc.

I don't think apple will implement this though.. just because of a huge number of privacy issues... I dunno if i'd want all my friends to know where I was at all times of the day.. I just have mixed feelings about that... and think what stalkers might do with that... It's good.. but of course it has its negatives also. not sure if the positives outweigh the negatives.

I can see it now. You walk into a bar.. and you realize your GPS can't track you in the bar.. so you walk outside to get reception, and outside you see a bunch of other people outside, trying to get reception, when you realize that you are all trying to stalk each other on the Iphone. Seriously, I've used GPS on a regular basis, and I don't think this idea is realistic or practical at all. It would be a plain old mess.
