Streetpass seems to only work in tightly compacted cities like New York and Tokyo. I've never gotten a streetpass tag and I've had a 3DS since June.

@boyzrule3000 Read the manual when you get your 3DS, their might be a way to disable automatic firmware updates without having to turn off the wifi, otherwise, just leave the wifi off. I think it only does the auto stuff when it's in sleep mode, so turn the wireless off before putting it in sleep mode?
