  • lol buy a gentleman`s coup

  • Is it just me that finds that theese lyrics are talking about the Obama election and deception. We've raised new flags but it's just the same old story, anyone?

  • An arrangement, style and sound that only Rise can pull off. =] Not as good as some others but still a pretty kick ass song, and it isn't needed but I have to comment on the lyrics. Flawless, as usual and I'm loving the vocals. They just feel really natural and are so clean. One of my personal favorites from the album.

  • best fucking song to listen on the bus makes me happy lol

  • Tbh, best song of the new album. I rocks, it's perfection, it's like Rise Against..

  • This song deserves more recognition, imo a really beastly song.

  • @CrimsonMadcap FALLOUT 3!!! YAY~!

  • @FangRiide Yup.

  • @CrimsonMadcap I love the game, it's so sad though that you keep getting kicked from Vault 101. All the Lone Wanderer ever wanted to do was to live in peace with Amata, but fate doesn't let that happen DOES it? lol. BoS forever. I wish there would someday be where there is another Remnant of the Enclave that becomes like the BoS in the Capitol Wasteland where they are actually good guys are you get to help them out.

  • @FangRiide That would be cool. Fallout 3 was so much better than New Vegas... Can't wait for Skyrim!

  • @CrimsonMadcap ME TOO! Sadly I am low on funds right now... So I MIGHT have to pirate Skyrim

  • @suitonsuiryuudan I left him in my house at the town with the bomb in it (forget the name its been so long) with my robot and a bunch of supplies. I didn't want him to die so I let him be safe there :)

  • The ad froze.. FUCK!

  • @hockeybrian08 I dont really think you can call rise against underrated most people who are into any element of rock have heard the name rise against at least

  • oh this sounds like apollo 18's theme or at least it could be

  • @DrNeedz But not all rappers are like that, like Eminem or Flobots .

  • Comment removed

  • 5...4...3...2....1... i pooed my pants xD

  • "How long will we fall for this?" This line is perhaps the most meaningful I've heard in any song. Alone, it is insignificant, but when coupled with this song, it takes on a whole new meaning. It seems to be the mantra of our generation. We are the young, and soon we will inherit the earth and all of its problems. The question is, will we turn out like the generation before, and fall into the same corruption and apathy? Our generation will save this world, and make it a good place.

  • @TheMehGatsby I don't like it. It's repeated way too many times and loses it's impact.

  • @TheMehGatsby when someone puts that much effort into a comment it should definetley deserve a thumbs up.

  • @TheMehGatsby It will if the current generation who runs the world doesnt

  • @TheMehGatsby this comment is the best and most meaningful comment ive ever seen on all of youtube :D

  • @TheMehGatsby i blame obama

  • I hope I hear this on the Hunger Games movie soundtrack...

  • I hope my neighbor's like this song, cause they're gonna hear it a lot

  • damn i love rise against

  • Does anyone else notice how fucking heavy this song/album is? Like Rise Against have always been pretty heavy for a punk band but they've really progressed out of the punk mold and become something completely original. Seriously, every time I listen to this album I can't believe how heavy some of these riffs are and how amazing the arrangements come together and how strong the hooks are. Easily the best rock record of the year and one of the most underrated bands of today

  • @Louisvilleslugger11 I'm going to have to disagree with you. For a punk band, they're not that heavy. And while maybe the riffs have gotten heavier, but the vocals haven't. And they haven't "progressed out of the punk mold and became completely original." They went from being hardcore punk to melodic punk. This album is still punk anyway you look at it. And it's not easily the best rock record of the year, it's tied with Wasting Light by the Foo Fighters. They're not that underrated, either.

  • @MegaCalvinHobbes Haha Melodic punk? Your really lumping RA in the same category as bands like NOFX, Pennywise, etc. I mean ya, RA songs you hear on the radio do have a more pop sound. But melodic punk bands don't have nearly as much aggression/emotion as songs like "Drones", "Collapse", "Tip the Scales". The balance of the fast/aggressive songs, the slower,/epic songs, and the poppier songs is what breaks RA out of the punk mold and gives them their own signature heavy Alternative Rock sound.

  • @Louisvilleslugger11 You obviously have no idea what melodic punk is. "Melodic hardcore is a subgenre of hardcore punk with a strong emphasis on vocal melody. The genre is commonly defined with fast hardcore drum beats, complex guitar riffs and melodic singing with occasional screaming or yelling."

That's this album. Period. There's no denying it, it's melodic punk.

  • @MegaCalvinHobbes Wow, well if your gonna live by Wikipedia for ur definitions on music genres then anything with vocal melody, fast drum beats, complex guitar riffs is melodic punk right? Be serious, come on by that definition bands as far as A Day to Remember to Suicidal Tendancies are melodic punk right? Of course not, do you think Rock genres were made by people who calculate sounds. No it just happened because bands sounded similar and were grouped and Endgame doesn't sound like just punk

  • @Louisvilleslugger11 Endgame does sound like punk though, because it is punk. And to your other comment, there is an undeniable progression from straight hardcore punk to the wider form of punk (which is called melodic punk, in case you didn't catch that the first time.)

And a heavy punk band, in my opinion is Rise Against, until about Appeal to Reason, when they became melodic punk. Another great heavy punk band was AFI.

  • @MegaCalvinHobbes Yes Endgame's Punk and RA progressed to a wider form of punk after SSOTCC. Except in both cases it's NOT just melodic punk, it's their own signature style of Heavy Alternative Rock like I've said a million times before. Period. End of Story. And Hahaha ... AFI ... alright then, in that case, I'm kinda tired of arguing. If you seriously think the words "AFI" and "heavy" go together ... ya I'm done lol

  • @Louisvilleslugger11 But it is melodic punk, because it has all the characteristics of melodic punk. It's not their own style, like you blindly think. Explain to me how it's different from melodic punk.

What's wrong with AFI? Oh, obviously you missed the key word in that sentence, "was." They're not heavy anymore, but their first albums were the epitome of hardcore punk. Go listen to "No Poetic Device" by AFI, and then come back and tell me it wasn't heavy.

    tl;dr, you're oblivious.

  • @MegaCalvinHobbes I take it back, I'm not done arguing. I've heard early AFI, sounds like typical punk, nothing special, and not especially heavy. Definitely not as heavy as anything RA has done. And you keep saying the same things over and over again. Nobody lives by wikipedia genre definitions, people live by the actual sounds of music and RA have their own unique sound. PERIOD ... Alright now I'm done

  • @Louisvilleslugger11 Wait how do you think early AFI isn't as hard as any RA has done? If anything it's heavier. I don't understand what your definition of heavy is, but it certainly isn't what most people think it is.

If there wasn't at least a slight frame of reference for what genres are, then I can say that Rachmaninoff was blues, and you wouldn't be able to argue. Sure, Wikipedia may not have been the best source, but it got the point across. And I love how you never answered my question.

  • And really? I haven't heard SSOTCC, I only mentioned Tip the Scales in my last comment. I've heard everything RA has done, even the b sides like Sight Unseen, Grammitizator, etc. That's why I know that there is an undeniable progression from straight hardcore punk of The Unraveling and RPM to the wider ecompassing sound of Punk that began of SSOTCC and has progressed since then. And what exactly is a heavy punk band in your opinion then?

  • @MegaCalvinHobbes And between the piercing opening riff and the solid AC/DC groove during the verse, I must be missing something for how this song isn't heavy. Have you even seen Tim sing live too? The guy screams his head off for two solid hours. Not sure how the vocals could get any heavier. Except maybe screaming and even then that wouldn't be metal and not heavy alternative rock.

  • @Louisvilleslugger11 The opening riff isn't that heavy. And Tim's singing in this song aren't heavy at all. I have the oddest feeling you haven't heard The Unraveling, Revolutions per Minute or Siren Song of the Counter Culture, because then you'd know what a difference there is.

  • hey, everyone should look at death blossoms by rise against.. it is a dlc for guitar hero world tour and is a great song but not very known.. i have a video on my profile.. the only bad thing is that it isnt very good quality but it is still really good!! please go listen!

  • "How long will we fall for this?" - That's one question I ask myself day in, day out. Generations upon generations of treating our fellow humans as little more than trash; when will this end? "Some might say we've lost our way, but I believe we've not gone far enough". Just my interpretation of the song, ofcourse, based on other similar songs by Rise Against (i.e. Make It Stop, Hero of War etc.). Again, similar to my interpretation of "Hero of War", how long will we be blindly patriotic for war?

  • @Etular make it stop is about gay kids and suicide...

  • @xM0RTALITYx Indeed - "Generations upon generations of treating our fellow humans as little more than trash", thus, leading to their suicide. The children of the September suicides were, sadly, driven to such extremes after both appalling homophobic treatment and societal pressures to "change" who they are.

I'm just claiming that, for most of Rise Against's songs, they tend to correlate to paint a fairly good picture of a political ideology which is (in my eyes) fair, just and humanitarian.

  • @Etular oh, okay. i misread your comment and thought that you were saying make it stop was about war. i was like "lolwut?"
