I believe this was Frank Zappa's first record dealership with Frank Sinatra's record label Reprise Records back in 1968 after his previous label Verve Records decided to drop him out for different opportunities of finding another label to sign on to.
Frank Zappa was born exactly 72 years (to the day) before the end of the world according to the Mayan calender... 72 years is a very important number to the Mayans, and to calenders generally...
@blacknganga So, that means it can't be the end of the world! We're gonna have to delay it a day; Frank Zappa's birthday is way too important for the apocalypse.
"Shut up and listen to the music, don't bring up politics"? Don't mean to be a dick in saying this, but Frank would not approve. He was all about politics. Though I agree there are times and places where it's clearly inane to bring it up decontextually.
@islespatrick 1) Anyone who uses the term "Tweenwave" (which yes is actually one word), should be shot and is probably not even old enough to buy cigarettes. 2) Anyone who claims to know anything about music should not even associate Frank's music with such a pretentiously coined genre.
@islespatrick 3) Move out of your mother's basement and see the real world for what it really is. You have no clue and the closest your probably ever com to being a musician is the medium level on guitar hero. Perhaps you should open your ears and rethink your views on what music really is.
p.s. people like you are ruining music. PLEASE stop trying to categorize everything into a subgenre! You're a parasite and I wish you were deaf. Take up macrame or needlepoint or SOMETHING!
Read about what was going on in Frank's life while he was writing and recording this album in a new book, Freak Out! My Life with Frank Zappa by Pauline Butcher. It also chronicles Christine Frka's brief life (girl on the cover) while she worked as Frank's daughter's nanny, and became an integral member of the GTOs. Available on Amazon.com

Surely this is one of Zappa's most groovy pieces - I've always loved those horns that come in about 0:44. Beautiful drum sound as well, those smooth cymbals pushing away in the background. Awesome all over!
@hopdoehop because they, pathetic a-pathetics, like i am, don't participate, and voicing blah blah views in places they dont belong where no one will read them makes them feel they have participated in and influenced in some small way.the poltical dialogue.
All politicians are douches. Obama being being the biggest. Anyone from from chicago knows that about politicians. Democrat and republican are the same thing.
@pineappaloupe I would have to agree with you there man. A lot of republicans are douches. and they tend to have sexual harassment blames put on them (Herman Cain) Why cant they be like Hank Hill and seem like a republican that is a genuine good guy?
Perfect music by a genius. Will never forget when I ordered this CD in a local Classical record shop 30 years ago and the quiet, snobby disdain. As Bob Monkhouse said...who's laughing now?
Frank Zappa didn't write music. He made sculptures. Sculptures out of sound. If you could see them they'd have about 200 different limbs, eyes, mouths, noses, and would probably be painted in every colour you could think of
@Wormtongue13 that's a good point actually. The guy who animated on them probably only had this music as inspiration. It's like classical music. You can play out images in your head when you listen to music this complexed.
@delzorgan Oh yeah definately. But what I was saying is that the animators probably listened to Franks music to create images in their heads. It's easy to do so with his music and that's why I love it so much. Music is more than just sounds and I bet that all music freaks like us would agree.
No, I don't agree with the person who said that EVERYTHING Frank did musically was based on this one song! Are you kidding? He had three or 4 albums out before THIS song was born. How do you explain that? And it's nothing like Drowning Witch, Truckdriver Divorce, Joe's garage etc.
This song is the absolute best for driving a motorcycle down a twisty mountain road! Every new turn is a victory!
Just to restart the flame war, watch FZ on Crossfire (look it up) telling Robert 'The Prince of Darkness' Novak about the (now well-established) American Theocracy. Novak's the same guy who outed Valerie Plame at Dick Cheney's bidding fyi.
