  • 7 people could have used a little green rosetta

  • I not wearing any pants.

  • IS THIS MUSIC? OR SIMPLY PERFORMANCE ART INVOLVING INSTRUMENTS ooops i had caps lock on

  • @jcfbell3001 you have very little to none musical intelligence. Go back and listen to your 1 chord top 10 crap.

  • @jcfbell3001 lol go suck dick you 12 year old

  • Peaches and BOTTSRGEDDON!

  • Hail Frank Vincent Zappa, voice of the universe: chaos in order!

  • i LOVE this song, it makes me so emotional, i want to cry and jump up and down all at the same time, how can one song do that?

  • yeah...thats the good shit

  • Amazing composition. Great guitar work as well, the guitar doesn't get much attention in this song.

  • Frankly speaking, the melody and rhythm are ahead of their time.

  • @jeffmoon69 Haha your puny

  • THE BEST SONG OF AAAAAAAAAALL TIME. and I don't like to exagerate

  • This is just great music.

  • I believe this was Frank Zappa's first record dealership with Frank Sinatra's record label Reprise Records back in 1968 after his previous label Verve Records decided to drop him out for different opportunities of finding another label to sign on to.

  • Great albun ... my first albun. Zappa = Genius

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRANK !!!

  • Frank Zappa was born exactly 72 years (to the day) before the end of the world according to the Mayan calender... 72 years is a very important number to the Mayans, and to calenders generally...

  • @blacknganga So, that means it can't be the end of the world! We're gonna have to delay it a day; Frank Zappa's birthday is way too important for the apocalypse.

  • @TheOneEyedHound Yep, we'll all have to break out the muffins as we watch the mega-tsunamis roll in (the day after!)

  • @blacknganga Muffins? Jeeze, I was thinking pancakes. Saint Alphonso's Pancakes, they're real good, sleezy.

  • @TheOneEyedHound Yes, sleazy pancakes too, droozled with ...?

  • @blacknganga Droozled with Saintly Alphonso's jizz, probably.

  • @TheOneEyedHound Oh, that's a bit ruff! It would want to be health food jizz if I'm going to go near these "exquisite" things...

  • Dweezil does a version of this on his album Go With What You Know. it's awesome

  • One of the most underrated pop/underground songs of all time! Thanks 4 posting !!!

  • @andrez03 Pop/underground .... pop is the opposite of underground/ wrong statement. it's ok ! Caus Zappa's here fos us

  • vaclav havel, first president of a free czech republic appointed zappa to be it's first arts and culture minister.

  • du du du du du du dudu du dud dududududuudu du duuuuuuuuuuuuuu du du du du duuuuu! Love Frank Zappa, why is it Lady gaga is alive and he is not?!

  • "Shut up and listen to the music, don't bring up politics"? Don't mean to be a dick in saying this, but Frank would not approve. He was all about politics. Though I agree there are times and places where it's clearly inane to bring it up decontextually.

  • great great greattt

  • The little keyboard melody that starts on 1:33 reminds me of Smash Bros. for some reason :p

  • Zappa's work sounds like tween wave. Sorry, but it's true.

  • @islespatrick 1) Anyone who uses the term "Tweenwave" (which yes is actually one word), should be shot and is probably not even old enough to buy cigarettes. 2) Anyone who claims to know anything about music should not even associate Frank's music with such a pretentiously coined genre.

  • @islespatrick 3) Move out of your mother's basement and see the real world for what it really is. You have no clue and the closest your probably ever com to being a musician is the medium level on guitar hero. Perhaps you should open your ears and rethink your views on what music really is.

p.s. people like you are ruining music. PLEASE stop trying to categorize everything into a subgenre! You're a parasite and I wish you were deaf. Take up macrame or needlepoint or SOMETHING!

  • @islespatrick I've got some rope if you want to just it all now

  • this was my daughters wedding introduction....STELLAR!!!

  • THE BEST EVER ZAPPA CREATION!!!!!\

  • hot rats ... what else? ¬_¬

  • just finished paulines book, absolutely brilliant and now i cant get enough of frank again, thanks Paaauulinnee lol

  • Read about what was going on in Frank's life while he was writing and recording this album in a new book, Freak Out! My Life with Frank Zappa by Pauline Butcher. It also chronicles Christine Frka's brief life (girl on the cover) while she worked as Frank's daughter's nanny, and became an integral member of the GTOs. Available on Amazon.com

  • Happy New Years everybody!

  • Wonderful chord melodies woven mat :)

  • The well-known record dates back to 1971! Happy new year 2012!

  • @Movielunatic *1969

  • Six idiot trols did not know how to vote!?!

  • HAPPY BDAY FRANK! You left us here with all this shit...rip man

  • 1:05 to 1:24 sounds like it could be the intro of a 70s police show or something.

  • Get your stinky fucking politics out of my Zappa!!!

Seriously, you people make me physically sick!

  • I swear more than half of the 162,005 views are from me

  • RIP you king among ants, you Gibson among First Acts, you flaming ball of rock and roll fervor and fury RIP

  • We miss you uncle frank!

  • THE crazy Mind Of A Genius!

  • FRANK STILL RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Surely this is one of Zappa's most groovy pieces - I've always loved those horns that come in about 0:44. Beautiful drum sound as well, those smooth cymbals pushing away in the background. Awesome all over!

  • one of the best instrumentals i've ever heard

  • Serbia loves you Zappa!!!!

  • Why the fuck is everybody talking about politics? Can we all please shut the fuck up and listen to some Frank Zappa..

  • My Hero. <3

  • what the fuck with people

that simply MUST Always bring up politics

    as stated by TheAkElsAiE41

shut the hell up and listen to the music

  • @hopdoehop you know you don't have to read the comments... right?

  • @hopdoehop because they, pathetic a-pathetics, like i am, don't participate, and voicing blah blah views in places they dont belong where no one will read them makes them feel they have participated in and influenced in some small way.the poltical dialogue.

  • Best... Thing... Ever...

  • All politicians are douches. Obama being being the biggest. Anyone from from chicago knows that about politicians. Democrat and republican are the same thing.

  • @johnbrescia do you have a stutter only when you type or in real life too?

  • @pineappaloupe I would have to agree with you there man. A lot of republicans are douches. and they tend to have sexual harassment blames put on them (Herman Cain) Why cant they be like Hank Hill and seem like a republican that is a genuine good guy?

  • What a mind! What an imagination! What a freakin' genius. If I were religious I would say, bless you Frank!

  • And even when i was reading it before realizing it was me i was like "this guys okay"

  • I love comin back to a page and finding my comment is top liked? Cuz i dont even remember posting that shit Haaaaa haaaaa haaaaa...

  • i love it <3

  • this cd is "THE CLASSIC"

  • it's so deep...almost psichedelic...but make me happy

  • Perfect music by a genius. Will never forget when I ordered this CD in a local Classical record shop 30 years ago and the quiet, snobby disdain. As Bob Monkhouse said...who's laughing now?

  • I am officially addicted to this track

  • May I tell you people that this is the best ring tone out there.

  • genius is genius!

  • Hey. That's a really, really good point you made there.

  • sometimes, I find zappa's music to be a little too intellectual (for my own taste), but this is just perfect

  • @jw89 Sorry to try to make you think!

  • Love the breaks.

  • one of his best a tapestry of sound ive been listening to this song for 30 years and i still love it

  • Lovely stuff!

  • Frank Zappa didn't write music. He made sculptures. Sculptures out of sound. If you could see them they'd have about 200 different limbs, eyes, mouths, noses, and would probably be painted in every colour you could think of

  • @Django5198 That's a pretty good description of the claymation segments of Zappa's movie, Baby Snakes.

  • @Wormtongue13 that's a good point actually. The guy who animated on them probably only had this music as inspiration. It's like classical music. You can play out images in your head when you listen to music this complexed.

  • @Django5198 Actually, you can find an excellent inspiration from almost any music genre. Of course, not mainstream music.

  • @delzorgan Oh yeah definately. But what I was saying is that the animators probably listened to Franks music to create images in their heads. It's easy to do so with his music and that's why I love it so much. Music is more than just sounds and I bet that all music freaks like us would agree.

  • @Django5198 I totally agree!

This is very rare in YouTube, usually most comments are arguing over things.

Is a different opinion a reason to call someone an idiot? That's not a reason for it.

Someday people will understand it, I hope...

This kind of music could help with it!

  • great album, way before his time.

  • i broke down on this song

  • How comes this upload rang for 2 mins 28 after the music finished? Never mind, it's not important.

  • zappa was and is a genious

  • I thank my father for playing Frank for me in utero. I don't think I'd be the person I am today if it weren't for Frank.

  • why is it 6 minutes?

  • @DizzMcFunk Yeah... Why not 45 minutes like Jethro Tull's "Thick as a Brick"?

  • @gillmalka19682

thick as a brick great album. i was talkin about how the song is only a 3:35 seconds then there is silence for 2:36 seconds. good editing.

  • HOT RATS.

  • always amazing

  • A true king track

  • @MultiMrMuffinman

    it´s babababababa,bababababa,babababa,baaaaammmm, it´s great

  • My friend Steve (sadly missed) was lucky enough to interview Zappa (sadly missed)

  • Who can dislike THISSSS !!!! why morons even bother to live !!!!!!!

  • Tarararararararara pam pam pa pa pa tara ra ra and the pam pam pam ohhh man what a genius tune !

  • Who gives a fuck what political party they were. Shut the hell up and listen to the diversity of this music you bigots.

  • @ThecAkEIsAliE41 No kidding. Anyone who wants to pigeonhole FZ as a conservative Republican should watch his interview on Robert Novak's show, or listen to his often freely-given opinion of Richard Nixon. He didn't hold liberal drug-taking hippies in much higher esteem either.

FZ was a lot like Steve Jobs, in that he couldn't be put into predetermined categories, didn't let other people do his thinking for him, and didn't advocate it to others. In both cases the results speak for themselves.

  • @Panglos Frank Zappa also hated Ronald Reagen

  • @Panglos Let's face it, Frank was a true independent. And that is why I admire him.

  • @ThecAkEIsAliE41 republicans are douches

  • @MrEdoRenton they were republicans

  • @gayskunk zappa was a conservative, dont like it, fuck off

  • i just woke up

  • cool!

  • actually listening to this made my whole life happier than before, around 5 yrs ago

  • Ah yes...a carefree walk in the Peach Park with Zappa. Of course, the peaches are all dressed up in their finest regalia and dancing on land and sky. Wait a minute - I haven't done acid since I was 17!!!!

  • CD化された時にリミックスされ、当時の軟らかな音質が失はれたのが残念。特に2:35からのピアノリフがなくなったのはショックに尽きる。

  • This album is fantastic!

  • ratas calientes !!

  • If the elevator to heaven has Muzak I really, really, really, really hope it's this.

  • Everything else that he did. Everything. ALL. ENTIRE> COMPLETE (r u w/me on this people???????) Was based on this short, sweet little rift. Some 60 albums (released) and all the other stuff never finished, sprung from this little ditty, swirled in and out of time/3/4time/7/8timedoubledtime simply amazing..........................thank you thankyouthankyouthankyou...........

  • I love it when it goes to the E bass line/ root note @ 2:21. You don't hear too many, if any cover versions of this that go there.

  • GENIUS

  • One of the greatest pieces of music ever written...really.

  • This whole song is one of the underrated gems of music history, but that part from 1:05 to 1:33 is what is so beautiful that it sends chills down my spine.

  • my brother saw him at a club in hollywood got to go back stage and also up to his house in the hills.

  • @t328 trying to get props dude?? Cool nonetheless

  • @Gilgamex no not at all i have been a fan since my brother bought me this album for my 12th birthday.he was in a band most of the time untill he went into the navy,he's the one who gave me my foundation for music.he was luCKY AND SAW ALL THE LEGENDS BACK THAN NEAT STORIES FOR ME BUT NOT MY EXPERINCE. I CAN NOT PLAY ANYTHING.we also live 45 min from hollywood so my brother had a great time.

  • I remember the first time I heard this song on the radio.I called the D.J. at the radio station to find out who it was .I should have known it was Zappa. He was a true genius.Still one of my all time favorites.

  • I get to see zappa plays zappa(along with return to forever) tonight. Although its not frank zappa its probably the closest i will get to seeing him.

  • @grevejp44 Return to Forever is not exactly bad! Hope you had fun!

  • @TheJedgeworth Oh yeah I did. Return to Forever is one of my favorites but so is zappa.

  • @grevejp44

I saw them a couple of weeks ago. Both bands were awesome.

  • I miss my old friend from high school, he died at about 23...walked off the boat and drowned...he was into this stuff at 16 years old...damn, he was a bit smarter than some of us I guess

  • Zappa at his absolute finest.

I wore out the grooves on my vinyl listening to Hot Rats!

This piece could easily be transposed into Chamber Music.

  • @Easleytee have a listen to The harmonia ensemble - Harmonia meets Zappa.... or why not the Torino Guitar quartet... or even sing along with the Geoffroy Jourdain version on Les Cris de Paris - There are some nice covers - but nothing tops the original :)

  • come sit on daddy's lap!

  • EPIC

  • why is there 3 minutes of silence?

  • @rickyjshiznit so that the universe can cope with the excessive awesomeness.

  • @rickyjshiznit

I suspect it's an attempt to dodge youtube's pattern detection scheme for copyrighted music/videos.

  • I was so lucky my oldest boy who had no choice but to listen to Zappa, downloaded everything i could ever hope for. guess I bought him up in the Era of Zappa.

  • A masterpiece from a genius.

  • FZ a GENIUS! Pioneer of Alternative Jazz!..Music for Your Eyes!

  • Someone pressed the thumbs down button by accident.

  • even my Dad liked this song when this LP came out. And he passed away at 84 a few years ago...

  • This changed my life....I have been Fhotrats62 since i first heard this song!

  • @sdgullsfan San Diego Gulls Damn I miss them! Love Zappa dude was such a genius....

  • wat can you say this is real music and as good 2day as ever the whole album is great miles ahead of its time some people dont even get it now

  • boy, i sure miss my vinyls!
