  • I want one!

Electric car is still using coal to make electric in most states.

  • wvo ftw

  • Ya I want to fill up this blonde news lady.

    naw wut im sayin.

  • Natural gas is not natural. They come from burning crude oil. Therefore this problem needs to be addressed to the public. Many of us, including I, enjoy driving clean vehicles. Natural Gas Vehicles are still great and they burn very clean even if they are not equipped with an electric motor. But equipping an electric motor with a Natural Gas engine will help improve mpg tremendously.

  • Achtung Bangkok Calling!

Here in Thailand, South East Asia. We have we have a handfull CNG ( NGV)vehicles available: Toyota, GM Optra, Proton ( Malaysian sedan) and a pickup truck from India called TATA. Fuel savings up to 60 %.

    Dr John

    CaSanook!

  • We have enough KNOWN Natural Gas in ground inside our borders to power our entire Country's needs...for 200 years.

In that time, one would think we could develop an synthetic source, yea?

So why don't we use it? Politics and people are still asking for, and buying, gas powered vehicles.

  • Buy the Honda to save money. If you want to "go green" then work to create a stable population and reduce immigration.

Nearly all our usa population growth in the last 40 years, over 100 million, has come fro immigration. WHY? Who benefits. We need to have this debate and ask if we really need to go to a Billuion people by the end of the century.

  • It took me over a year to get my carpool lane sticker for my car because the stupid, incompetent morons at the California DMV had my car listed as gasoline-powered rather than natural gas powered. The red tape I had to go through to fix this was unbelieveable. At the DMV, I am convinced that they are just running a jobs program wherein they hire a group of bumblers to fix the screw-ups of the other bumblers. Trouble is, you then have to deal with a 3rd lever of bumblers to fix THEIR screwups.

  • Judging by your maturity level, I would say that the most appropriate mode of transportation for you would be a tricycle. Preferably with training wheels.

  • I own a Civic GX and yes, there ARE a few compromises. The trunk is about half the size due to the fuel tank, and the acceleration is a but slower although not dramatically so. The car's range is only about 200 - 240 miles on a fillup, and there is not a CNG refueling site on every corner.

Our problem in the US is we still consider driving as recreation rather than just a way to get from point A to point B. We MUST drop this mindset for the sake of the environment and our nation's future.

  • It doesn't totally end our dependency on foreign oil, Natural Gas is taken from the top of oil pockets underground, so we still have to drill in the same places to get it, which means once we become dependent on Natural Gas they'll just jack the price up on that.

  • @BDS123456 yess but we have 200 yrs worth in the US and right off our cost.

  • California does seem to lead in about every technological change. LA is also the only place with hydrogen stations now.('cause there rich!)

  • But let's be frank here. Even NGVs are NOT "green" per se. Yes, they do help reduce dependency on foreign oil, but they're still using an unsustainable resource. Believe me, I'm ALL for NGV vehicles, but it's not the end solution to our global warming problem.

  • If we stopped burning NG for power stations we'd have a lot more of this resource to stretch out for transportation.

  • the lack of gas stations that allow for refueling. Why no gas stations with natural gas? 15 dollars to fill..but how would ceos of large gas companies survive? If the govt added natural gas to all gas stations im sure more consumers would buy this car and honda and all other car industries would make more NGVs

  • so then with all these advantages does Honda not make 100,000 more of these cars? what is the real reason these cars (which have been on sale in usa for over 10 years) arent the number one selling type of car? WHATS HOLDING THIS BACK ???

  • Because, like the host says, there are lots of stations in southern California; and I'm sure many NGVs as a result. Here in Alabama there are 2 stations and not many NGVs.

  • @sellingon Fill up? It takes a while to fill up an empty tank, something along the lines of a few hours at the least. If you don't have a garage, it's not so easy. If you do, you pull into the garage when you get home and hook up the NG line, but otherwise you can't really get this car. At least that's my guess.

  • @sellingon The only reason honda is selling these is california law, they could give a shit about natural gas.

  • @sellingon because of the range and the cost. duh.....

  • Besides the cleaner and cheaper fuel, there is another advantage of a CNG vehicle over a gasoline or diesel vehicle that is often ignored: CNG burns much cleaner than either gasoline or diesel, which means fewer harmful deposits inside the engine, which greatly increases overall engine life and reduces maintenance costs.

  • Why there are not so many gas satations? specially in FL there is none.

  • Let the revolution begin!

  • the Big[was] Detroit 3 should make one of these cars[not buses]

    why are they not?

they're letting Honda and Toyota make the lead in the latest technology[hybrids]

all Honda dealerships should have a 24/7 CNG fueling stations.

at $1.20 per gallon and up for CNG at 36MPG this makes sense

Petrol/Diesel will be $7~$12 soon and im not kidding

wanna bet you bank account on this?

  • Here in Oklahoma it's only $.91 gge. My fiancee's brother fills his up for about $4.50.
