  • @Sandstartheleader50

"Valedictorian" is used only on USA and Canada you dumb American.

Go in europe and ask someone "What is a valedictorian ?", I don't thnik you will got a lot of response.

  • that was nice

  • okay.. this made me tear up. and to know it's probably true, but not everyone has that kind of luck. agh, google, nice job.

  • This is so moving. My mom was an immigrant from Vietnam and she can be hard on me sometimes, and I'll get mad at her, but this video makes me remember that she only wants the best for me and to allow me to have a better life. :')

  • This is so true and touching... Any person from a immigrant family knows how many hardships they parents must go through in order to give them the best.... When she typed "part time jobs night ny"... It made me cry so hard...

  • all these google videos make me want to start typing anything on my laptop. i just love the sound of typing

  • @littleBIGthought I feel the same way! yayyy ASMR

  • If you ever think about it being a first generation asian american and the sacrifices your parents/mom made....it's such a unique and amazing commonality we all have. It's truly a blessing.

  • Great Job, this video brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it. And I've seen it a lot.

  • Great Job, I've seen this video so many times and I tear and get the chills each time.

    /watch?v=0wYPHz7zfSg - My own story :P

  • Wow, I got goose bumps.

  • These are all so cute and they all make me tear up. It's great/bad. Haa.

  • Don't get it.

  • @shippensbia If your parents didn't risk their lives and well being to move to a different country, and worked tediously for a better future for their sons and daughters, I don't blame you.

  • @FullOfFlail

And how did these parents risk their lives and well being to move to a different country?

  • @shippensbia It's hard to explain the mental and emotional turmoil from leaving your country and moving to a place that doesn't appreciate your qualities. It's belittling and a lot of people can't handle it..

  • @TeenageMuse That's absolutely right.

The US is one of the hardest countries to adapt to.

  • That was beautiful ;(

  • that was moving

  • lol matthew nguyen

  • The music sounds like sims

  • wow this really made me cry... my parents immigrated to the US too, and they knew very little english and this ad makes me appreciate their hard work so much, and compels me to work harder myself in school.

  • @PirateJeans amen same here

  • i think i have something my eye....

    A BIG FAT TEAR.

  • I almost cried when she searched "What is a valedictorian"

  • This made me tear up and start to cry

  • How embarrassing. There are tears in my eyes. I'm so shocked I'm laughing a little, too.

  • This is absolutely without a doubt one of the most, inspiring, touching, mesmerizing and creative ads I have ever seen in my life.

Google should be very proud to produce such a work of beauty.

This ad inspires me to want to achieve great things because I like many others came to this country as an immigrant, and as this ad details; its the hardest thing in the world to successfully accommodate.

  • Anyone knows the name of the song???

  • holy shit... this is great.

  • STUY :)

  • 0:28. That's only an average rating for the best High School in New York?

  • @HalaHadean23 it's the best public high school in New York (and one of the best in the nation) to my knowledge...NY has a ton of really good private schools tho

  • anyone know what this song is? it's beautiful.

  • @Jennchilada lol, it's made by google, I'm pretty sure that's it.

  • This is my mom. I wish I would have worked harder to get that valedictorian now.

  • @Skinnydips

    I know what you mean.

  • I cried.

  • @XDXDXDXDXDXDXD and yet look at your username

  • being in college and away from home, this really made me tear up

never stop appreciating your parents. they do so much for you.

you will never meet anyone else who loves you more than they do

  • Comment removed

  • can't. stop. sobbing. for some reason.

  • /watch?v=9jLX2NAXOEU watch

  • He's Asian, Of course he'll get Valedictorian

  • @MadeAccount and the fact that hard working also runs in the family and they learn to make most of what they have because they're poor. And they can't pay for stupid distractions like xbox's, playstations, ipods, whatever and he'd strive to work hard to provide money for his family. Unless some pathetic lazy people I know...

  • @m2mfan4eva You spelled Unlike wrong :). Also things like TV and Computer aren't necessarily distractions, as they can also help you with education etc.

  • @MadeAccount I never said TV's and computers were distractions. I said xbox's, playstations and ipods.

  • @MadeAccount Also, out of all the people I know, not many at all use tv and computer primarily for education. I mean, I do use the computer for typing in word and googling things for assignments, but I also mostly use it for fun and entertainment. Moreso fun and entertainment.

  • crying

  • Me too, well choked up and tearing. Hope she has a good vacation.

  • I got the video on the day I received my M.B.A result and this reminds me contribution of my mommy and my dad behind my graduation... Like this my parents also moved one city to an other city only for my better future and they sacrificed a lots to finance my education...... I m really proud of my parents and thanks Google.....

  • That was beautiful... I felt tears coming to my eyes... If only it was longer

  • awwww amaxing....

  • O YEA lets go STUY

  • Amazing.

  • @huangavin, Stuy's modus operandi is pure meritocracy (which is probably why Google loves it and I bet a bunch of Google engineers are Stuy grads), it would surprise me if they were not meritocratic in selecting valedictorian and salutatorian, notice how it's majority Asian and that majority is increasing?

When I was there I recall reading that valedictorian and salutatorian selection was on the basis of straight GPA and then AP classes to break ties.

  • this ad made me cry god damn it! Damn you sappy google!

  • why is it so sad? am i missing something here?

  • @CJS925 - It is not specified in the clip how the parent got here, but we can agree on one thing. Most would have arrived by boat, for months without food or basic essentials. In some cases, these poor souls have been robbed by pirates. They escape to find a better place for not them, but for their children. They escape what used to be the war, and perhaps these days communism. When they arrive, they have nothing, but just a belief of a better life, future. They work several jobs to provide.....

  • @CJS925 ....the basics, like shelter (rent), clothing, food, medical and education for their children. They put immense pressure on their children to excel academically so they can get into the courses they want when they reach university (or college), all so that they can have an easier life than theirs (the parents). How do I know all this? I am one of those children, who was born to migrant parents, now living in Australia. They still work hard to this day, and I dont thank them enough.

  • @HDDTX

ah, now i understand it, and it is quite touching. thanks for the information.

  • aww... :') (teary smiley)

  • why is there a lot of cry comments on searchstories videos?

  • @generko Because the search stories are touching :')

  • Alright this was probably the most moving one out of all of them :)

  • Go Stuy!

  • This made me cry. of all the search stories, this one just did

  • wow 10 people have no heart :(

  • God, this touched me. I'm Viet and my mom acts just like that. I think it's time I go thank her.

  • I go to stuyvesant high school :)

  • This almost made me cry...

    So sweet

  • Im so envious, i wish I had parents that took into thought about my interest and weren't so ignorant. Seems like all they want to do is have me become "successful" and make money D:

  • cried... this was just how my parents treated me

and i just owe them too much :'<

    i love you mum+dad

  • All of these make me cry.

  • Contrary to popular belief, this year's Stuyvesant valedictorian was a third-generation upper-middle class Jewish-American from the Upper East Side, a far cry from the story this video portrays. Once again, money and establishment trumps hard work and perseverance.

  • I cried when I watched this :'(

  • how do you use search features like dictionary, directions, etc, when making a google search story video? i did not see those as options.

  • @jenniferxxbeauty Methinks google has a more advanced way of making search stories.

  • Woah.. 99,000th View.. cool.. and the views are nice too :)

  • As someone who went to Bronx Science, I gotta say at the moment, Stuyvesant is the best skool in tha city. That's not to say we won't pass them in the future, but being number one isn't easy and I wouldn't want to deny them that.

  • this years valedictorian at stuy was white. i think.

  • That was so beautiful. *sniff*

  • this shows how the internet affects our lives so much.

  • Yay, Stuy!!!
