I always found something so touching about this theme. Final fantasy VIII is definitely the best final fantasy. I just listened to your version of Fisherman's Horizon, I think you're playing it it a little too fast...but your interpretation of this track is pretty much faultless. Well done!!
this is really good.you play that song not to fast not to slow .one of the best version on you tube with Lypure,Kyle,Arkton and Mikan44.(you can see my playing of that song on my channel .feel free to take a look)
I started learning this one today. I'm really rusty, so it's going to take me a looooong time to learn it, but I will eventually. Thanks for the inspiration, I'll be coming back to this video quite a bit.
It's never too late to indulge in music. Never, and if you feel like trying to learn how to play the piano, I entreat you to have a go. Just be patient, because you need to get through the grueling stuff if you want to go anywhere.
I wish you the best ^^ The world can't have enough musicians :)
No it's not. Playing piano is wholesome. And with constant practice, even a 32 yr old beginner can play this. So don't give up now okay? I was also enrolled on a piano lesson but since we don't have any more money, I studied on my own using my experiences, and fortunately I can also play this and Fisherman's Horizon as well (but only on keyboard but it's Piano Collections style)I'm only 14 yrs old so no wonder u can also do it much better than me! Okay? Good Luck!
Ah okay. Sorry if I seemed rude before, but I hate it when someone posts something like "I re-composed this from scratch", only to find it an official piece of music.
not sure if you will all agree with this but i dont think you feel this song. i have seen it played on utube with much more feeling and this 1 i like but it dont quite touch me like the others
You are very good at what you do. All your songs sound exellent. Keep up the good work I am a huge Final Fantasy fan. But I have to ask one question, in alot of you videos I don,t see any sheet music, HOW.
I'm american, not that it matters, but I memorize all the songs I play by listening to them. I also have somewhat of a photographic memory which helps me. I never use sheet music really because I don't know how to read it, but also because I don't really want to. I can do without sheet music what people do with it and it helps develop my ear more.
ah, i'll say it again, i love how wonderful you are at the piano, keep it up. I love how you play final fantasy songs, soo beautiful, puts me to sleep ( in a good way )
exellent job! makes me wanna sing this song along with your playing :D it's sad that they don't make games like this one nomore :( i so so so so much wish that ff13 will be similar to 8.... if not, i'm gonna start a war!!! until then though i'll just listen to these lovely sounds...
The way I go about it is just hearing notes and picking them off one at a time, and slowly building on by listening. It is slightly frustrating thinking of how much time could be consumed, but you encourage me to go on! So thank you.
ah, well its nice to see that you are motivated by my pieces... Yeah I usually have trouble because of the lack of practice these days. Anyhow, might I suggest you to my brothers account, cheonhopark. He plays ami too from the ff8 piano collections
I downloaded that exact version on iTunes to listen to, it's very encouraging to hear someone play it, knowing they struggled with it as well!
I am trying to learn how to play Ami, from the original soundtrack. But then I realize it's kind of short and repetitive from that, so I am going to find an all piano version and learn it.
your temp in this revision is WAY better than your old one. Im glad you decided to slow it down a bit. i felt that your old on was way too fast, but im glad you slowed it down for this one. Nice work =]
I try practising this piece. I'm nowhere near doing it as good as you do and I understand its bloody tricky, and my piano has no soft touch to it so it sounds like KILL KILL >_>
its not that I quit, I dont have time since I am majoring in computer animation and design.
It might be a waste of talent. But I cant really consider it talent when I get frustrated with it easily... seriously, I can spend 14 hours a day drawing, and maybe 3 or 4 hours on piano before getting bored.
You are sooo lucky that you could play piano so well. I could play a little but suck big time, haha. And how lucky are you to be able to do art in school. .drawing and painting all day used to be my dream until i took computer science in uni. :P
computer science? Ah, you must enjoy the mathematics. well with art I am comfortable doing it, but with piano id often get stage fright, even in front of a video camera.
well done, ive been playing piano on and off for years, but i stopped and now i suck, just started again so im gonna stick at it now, id kill to play like you :)
This revision was significantly better than your original version. Great job on toning it down a bit. I still feel like you are pounding a few keys. It's hard to explain without being in person, but you've got to "feel" the keys. Keep at it, perfect practice makes perfect. Do you take lessons?
Dont throw away this beautiful talent! there are so many people who would kill for your skill, and you have it.. yet you don't even want it! even though you dont wanna persue anything with this... It's still a useful talent.
lol i won't be too jealous.. i had these pieces memorized for awhile... but since i am busy with school i probably forgot the wholesomeness of the song.... i havent posted any lately.
This one was MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better than your first version. BTW, stop beating yourself up so much. lol. I've never seen anyone post such long essays of self-critique on Youtube.
please go into piano as your college major. It is what you were born to do. After hearing this, I was very emotional because its supposed to be romantic. I just suffered heartbreak and well its a long story but thanks. Ive heard this a while ago by you though but hearing it today made me think better.
ahh sorry to hear about that... i could never major in music because I can never perform in front of audiences. I just would never get the satisfaction like I do on Youtube and the internet. I can get my videos across like that. Anyhow glad it helpd you out sir.
I must say, you did a beautiful job. Eyes on me has always been one of my favorite Final Fantasy music pieces, and I have tried to play it myself... It truly is a hard piece. Very good, keep up the work.
hey, this one surely showed your improvement over the last video, but I think the most intriguing part is your "thoughts", don't worry buddy, you're not the only one that felt such a feeling, and it's ok to feel devastated as long as we keep going on to reach the goal, and I think you reached the goal with this video, it reflected a lot of feelings and hardwork, so yeah that's a 5-star for ya.
awesome... very great. I loved it. It made me think about the one girl I love but who doesnt have the feelings for me because we have been friends a long time. Thanks!
This is WORLDS of improvement over the last Eyes on Me you posted (the one where I commented it was too fast). I'm so impressed I couldn't stop smiling the whole time, major kudos to you - I'm very pleased with your performance.
hey..tho i know you published this video a couple of months ago, juss` reading over your "thoughts" really suprise me. i kinda know how you feel.. how the passion to play the piano dies quickly.. well.. i juss` liked to say, if you can still find passion in the art of piano, `nd every key-notes you play brings out the word "passion" then your passion fo` music is still in you.. sorry if i`m babbling too much.. but that's juss` my opinion in response to your "Thoughts". Anyhow, nice playing :)
Can anyone tell me how someone would go about getting sheet music for all these FF songs you all are playing? I'm getting back into the piano and I'm looking for some stuff to upgrade to when I get my scales and basics back up to par again...
from your other videos you seem faster then your brother (i may be wrong) but your both awesome! And you should learn 'silence before the storm' or 'suteki da ne' from FFX .
Just because you're not good at playing the piano doesn't mean it's not your passion. I've never had any lessons in my life and I just taught my myself. Although I'm not all that great, I still love playing the piano and I still want to improve.
well thats a good point but,, if i wanted to make piano not just a passion, but as an occupation as well, I would fail most definitely... my passion for the piano is not always there and I tend to not play when I am frustrated or when pushing myself to hard... its quite random but anyhow, my point is that it gets sort of ridiculous afterawhile... but I have other interests...
well anyway yes it was worth it and it was deffinetly better tahn the first, still not enough of a sensative tone to it. instead of using the soft pedal to paly soft use your own hands thats what I do and it seems to work
funny thing only pedal I ever use is the sustain pedal and it's all I ever really need right now, ahven't seen a song that calls for the use of any others
I WISH I HAD A SOFT PEDAL FOR MY DIGITAL PIANO!! You better use what you have to it's fullest!! I could play fantaise impromtu 2x better if I had a soft pedal!
Nice job. Definitely better than the first. Nice work. The sudden loud notes are a little startling and messes up the flow somewhat. If you want to bring out melody, don't bang the melody out, try playing the accompaniment part a little softer instead. For a soft piece like this you can't have sforzandos, instead, try using graudal crescendos. 5/5 for incredible improvement. keep it up.
I'm very sure your piano can go softer then that! I can tell by the sound of what I hear. It sounds like your hitting the keys hard by the sound of the music.
This beats your first recording for sure, but I still think that you need to put more dynamics into this :D.
You stop playing loud very quickly after the loud creseando on third page. Btw great ending. (don't bang out those 3 chords though that you did LOL) 5/5
of course it can go softer, right hand that is but Iwanted to bring out the melody, without destroying it which is , if i played the piece too soft some of the notes may sound missed when I actually played them. I spent hours trying to get that right, and I ended up giving up anyways
if you notice the second to last note sounds missed but I know i played it, i kind of hate that but other than that it is okay... and i noticed that loud note. lol, i didnt think i played that loud, yet again i did not want to waste 7 hours of my life, or just gave up to begin with if that occured.
"You will hear the softest audible sounds that can be played on this piano" I was just replying to this what you said in your info :P. You did bring out the melody more then last time :D
the fact that what you use is determination and not talent shows a lot about how much you like playing. i think, even if you dont have any talent (though i think contrary to that. :D) as long as you have determination, you'll as long as you have determination, you'll play better than the prodigy that is too lazy to play the piano. ..by the way, if you cant already tell, i'd make a horrible psychiatrist. which is why i'm not going to be one xD
y'see, i could criticize (constructively of course) you now, but.. i dont think that its that necessary. rather, i'd like to tell you that you should (meaning: must) continue playing the piano.
This revised recording is way better than your 1st. Awesome work! Some pianos are difficult to work with. Some have a solid tone, whereas others disperse (somewhat like mine). And its so frustrating to get the softest possible tone that doesnt sound too harsh and shallow. Keep up the good work and keep improving. 5
Much better this time! lovely! The revision (this one) is very nice. congrats.

I have a mate who can play this on piano, not quite THIS good, but still pretty well. He adds his own touch to it, which I like.
Why is this called revision? It's essentialy the same as the Piano Version of the song
Great song to play on acoustic guitar aswell...with vocals of course.

Cascadeh 5 years ago
Ah, I probably won't forget how to play. I will just will lose the ability to play well. So it will take some work again...
ManHoPark 5 years ago
I consider that as losing half of your talent..
If you really take it with that attitude now, later you'll regret. I know a lot of great pianist's who don't know how to play anymore.
If you think of it as a hobby, then work / studies should come first.
But if you think you'll do something useful with that skill, then you should treat them almost equally.

from your other videos you seem faster then your brother (i may be wrong) but your both awesome! And you should learn 'silence before the storm' or 'suteki da ne' from FFX .
I would love to see those performed on piano
great job!

@kyle556 You can play Fantasie Improptu??!! That's so HARD - what with the odd timing in the left hand.. You are incredible...
sweetcandybubble 5 years ago
lmao your first measure was better then my first measure. You played it JUST like the piano collections.

ohhh u gotta do eternal light waves from FFX-2...its the best! btw great performance as usual
drumstyx6464 5 years ago
well anyway yes it was worth it and it was deffinetly better tahn the first, still not enough of a sensative tone to it. instead of using the soft pedal to paly soft use your own hands thats what I do and it seems to work
Odaniel3 5 years ago
funny thing only pedal I ever use is the sustain pedal and it's all I ever really need right now, ahven't seen a song that calls for the use of any others
Odaniel3 5 years ago
I WISH I HAD A SOFT PEDAL FOR MY DIGITAL PIANO!! You better use what you have to it's fullest!! I could play fantaise impromtu 2x better if I had a soft pedal!
kyle556 5 years ago
I love this. It's so much softer. The beginning is just near perfect. I LOVE IT!!!

(don't bang out those 3 chords though that you did LOL) 5/5
kyle556 5 years ago
of course it can go softer, right hand that is but Iwanted to bring out the melody, without destroying it which is , if i played the piece too soft some of the notes may sound missed when I actually played them. I spent hours trying to get that right, and I ended up giving up anyways
ManHoPark 5 years ago
if you notice the second to last note sounds missed but I know i played it, i kind of hate that but other than that it is okay... and i noticed that loud note. lol, i didnt think i played that loud, yet again i did not want to waste 7 hours of my life, or just gave up to begin with if that occured.

"You will hear the softest audible sounds that can be played on this piano" I was just replying to this what you said in your info :P. You did bring out the melody more then last time :D
kyle556 5 years ago
I'm with ya-- I had a tough time phrasing this piece despite the fact that the notes itself wasn't that horrible =/
I have a new one that I posted up today if you wanna take a check=P

the fact that what you use is determination and not talent shows a lot about how much you like playing. i think, even if you dont have any talent (though i think contrary to that. :D) as long as you have determination, you'll as long as you have determination, you'll play better than the prodigy that is too lazy to play the piano. ..by the way, if you cant already tell, i'd make a horrible psychiatrist. which is why i'm not going to be one xD
makingmooz 5 years ago
y'see, i could criticize (constructively of course) you now, but.. i dont think that its that necessary. rather, i'd like to tell you that you should (meaning: must) continue playing the piano.
makingmooz 5 years ago
Youre a funny insightful person.
