I don't think we can compare Matt's version of this song to MJ, Shaheen or Archuleta. Those 3 were kids (boys)when they performed WLY, and Matt was singing it LIKE A MAN. They're all really good though, just in different styles. LOVE YA, MATT! <3

Adam has a loud strong in your face voice and I'm sure he's had lots of training. Way more than Matt. Which is why I prefer Matt's voice, not only does it sound waaaay sexier and better to me, but it's so untamed and natural. Adam himself even said that Matt's talent intimidates him.
Who are the judges to tell him "that's not you"? Matt knows who he is, and it's unfair to group him into one category because he is very versatile and diverse. He brings soul, rock, r&b, pop, whatever with his voice and was trying to showcase that.
Little Shaheen, little Michael Jackson, little Stevie Wonder.....nobody knows what the future holds for any singer but having the kinda voice that bowls you over at the age of 12 is probably as good a start as you can get. Matt is cute and competant but somehow he lacks the drive that seems to be pushing Adam and , to some degree, Danny. That`s not to say that he`s bad or won`t do great things. They just have that extra something that all the really great performers have, the "natural" gift.
Little Shaheen, is good.. But he don't have the soul Matt has, yet. And he may or may never have it. We have yet to see. Usually people this young in their popularity are long burned out by the time they hit their adolesence. he a child with a good voice.
Matt is cute but if you want to hear this song sung well ,check out Britains got talent 2009 ,a kid called shaheen sings it and knocks it out of the ball park...he`s 12 years old by the way :0)
Checked your link.. it was good. Nice. But often we have to look at the guys 50-60 yrs ago who sang these kind of songs. Sould songs like this must of been really quite beautiful since before its time, we sang fight songs...brings up the idea that Idol teaches us about our modern music.

He wasn't nor isn't trying to be Justin Timberlake. It's the judges, particularly Kara and Randi that kept comparing him to Justin. He's often said that his genre is jazz. He likes to do that bluesy jazz thing. I think that's thousands of miles away from Justin. There's room for both of them.

yep was cheering for matt... although i must admit adam deserved to win because of how balzy he was... and he sang ring of fire... its like my favourite song now... he sang it perfectly... although in terms of talent, in my opinion kris and matt should have been in the final with matt edging it...

Adam has a loud strong in your face voice and I'm sure he's had lots of training. Way more than Matt. Which is why I prefer Matt's voice, not only does it sound waaaay sexier and better to me, but it's so untamed and natural. Adam himself even said that Matt's talent intimidates him.

Who are the judges to tell him "that's not you"? Matt knows who he is, and it's unfair to group him into one category because he is very versatile and diverse. He brings soul, rock, r&b, pop, whatever with his voice and was trying to showcase that.

Little Shaheen, little Michael Jackson, little Stevie Wonder.....nobody knows what the future holds for any singer but having the kinda voice that bowls you over at the age of 12 is probably as good a start as you can get. Matt is cute and competant but somehow he lacks the drive that seems to be pushing Adam and , to some degree, Danny. That`s not to say that he`s bad or won`t do great things. They just have that extra something that all the really great performers have, the "natural" gift.

Little Shaheen, is good.. But he don't have the soul Matt has, yet. And he may or may never have it. We have yet to see. Usually people this young in their popularity are long burned out by the time they hit their adolesence. he a child with a good voice.

Checked your link.. it was good. Nice. But often we have to look at the guys 50-60 yrs ago who sang these kind of songs. Sould songs like this must of been really quite beautiful since before its time, we sang fight songs...brings up the idea that Idol teaches us about our modern music.
