A little advice, next time you should probably think about putting in a small town to break up the continuous farmland. Also I would suggest using the woodland Scenics undercoat paint if you are using other woodland Scenics products.
I like the way you did the plowed fields. I was trying to figure away to do mine, You did it for me. Just a suggestion, I put my paint in a ketchup or mustard squeeze bottle and just squeeze the bottle where I want the paint and brush it out. You don't have to keep putting the brush in the can. It works pretty good. Your how to's are great. Thanks.
You know whats great about scenery? You can add and change it as you go. I can remember feeling frustrated and bored at times when i first started my scenery, but as I got ideas and learned different things I applied it to my layout. Now my scenery is looking great. Your layout is looking awesome and will only get better and better. Thank you for these videos!
You did a wonderful job! The one thing I would do differently is add a bit of "dirt" to fill the transition between the fields and the track. In this dirt, the tractors and plows can turn around and work on another row without missing what's on the railroad's property. I love the yard. it was a very good choice. With it being stub-ended (one ended), you will have a lot of fun dropping off trains, running around them, and placing them in the yard. A shop scene might look nice too... Nice job!!!
Growing up farming you would never ever run your furrows up to things like a road or railroad tracks. You do not have any place to access you fields. The end of the rows you need space to turn you equipment. Just some FYI. Find some over head shots of fields. Most you will see some sort of ditch for irrigation on one end then some sort of access road next to the ditch so you can run your irigation pipes into your field.
That crop-circle and the farm fields look great. Alot of interest there. Im glad to see you added that yard as I was afraid you might get a little bored with just running trains in a continuous loop. Good job.
Looking good man, don't get to discouraged on how long it takes to do a scene, the good thing is you finished what you wanted too, and it really looks good!!
you could have made your own backdrops for cheap all you had to do was take a few photos of some great locations around ur town or country side and then edit the photos on ur computer then took them to a printing place and had them printed onto the right size and could get them printed to card stock as you have there
