what made me love about this part is that it kinda sounds like he is counting the ticks of the earth. and once he figured out the pattarn he adjusted it :P
@bbblueman23 yeah it was with that one guy who can predict peoples movement and killed the people who tried to make him unsmart again...pretty damn awesome
I saw this movie yesterday, had never heard of it before and I thought it was great. Imaginative and original. This scene in particular moved me with its fantastic music.
I have a question. I have been listening to the soundtrack (which I love) but I haven't seen the movie. I've heard from comments and such that this movie is amazing, but IMDB didn't give it a high rating. Does anyone know why? Like this movie is only good to some people? And what makes it good?
@KillerPikmin Well, that's not what I meant. I do want to watch it, but I'm wondering why imdb didn't give it a good rating if lots of people think it is so good. I guess what I really want to know was, is it the music, the plot, the script, or the cinematography that makes everyone like it?
@yomommasxbox it is like that to represent the difference in who 's point of view it's showing alive people is normal dead people (ink and storytellers) have the shitty quality
@yomommasxbox LOL FSXISCOOL closed his account. What a tool. Probably created the account just so he could leave negative BS because he didn't want to reveal his actual channel. Troll with no balls. The worst kind.
This movie really did change my life in a great way... and The character who did it was Jacob... I look at myself as a Pathfinder... this scene made me cry but opened my eyes so much... Great Movie.
Anyone have any idea where I can find a music box like this? Or what exactly to search for? It doesn't have to change fate, although that would be a bonus.
A lot of symbolism was put into this movie that most people can't comprehend . I may be young , but I'm not stupid . This movie really touched me and I wish I could share my insight with the rest of the world , but they won't listen . It gives me goosebumps because we're really no in control no matter how hard we try to be , we're all just a part of a plan waiting to happen for a bigger picture ..
So cool but it's like, Spin 2. In every single one of his films he does a scene like this and 11:59 is full of nothing but quick editing shots, just like this I hope in his next movie he tries something different or it's going to get old. Not saying that this was a bad scene or the movie was bad. He needs to find a new editing/camera trick to keep us on our toes.
I love this scene, truly an awesome movie. One of the most unique scenes of 'synchopation' I will ever recall in a film of any kind. An absolutely fascinating turning point in the film. I'm still awestruck after having just seen it.
I don't know what made me watch a B movie. That's something that's just a waste of time if you ask me. But I was dead WRONG this movie kicked ass for a B movie. I wish I could be in one of his movies.
incredible scene, incredibly well done. Most compelling and emotional scene I can think of since Dr. Manhattan leaves Earth in the Watchmen (not saying that movies great, but that scene is fucking brilliant)
That's the coolest thing. The beat of the world Jacob hears is in 4/4 and the soundtrack follows it. If you notice it plays three notes at a time, the moment he activates it the soundtrack switches from 1... 2... 3... 4... to triplets on the beat 123 123 123 123...
It's almost like the device directly changes the soundtrack. It's like the subtle introduction the 3's to the world's music is what jars it out of the 1 2 3 4. Just the slightest most subtle nudge from the notes of the box.
@buddahhh Good, I would want all my senses intact for the first time anyone watches this film. Now go watch 2012 for the 12th time or similar multi-millon dollar hollywood garbage. I used to think art was dead in modern cinema, Then I saw this movie. Branch!! Son of a Bitch! One..Two..Three..Branch!! Hello dirt and how are we today?
I love the part where she knocks him over and he just kind of turns his head slowly to the dirt and says... "we meet again..." to the dirt in an almost sensual way heheh
When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. This movie showed up in my life for a reason, as I'm sure it has for others as well. Amazing film. =)
The downward spiral is essentially a chain reaction. One thing begets the next. A man has a weaknesshes flawed. That flaw leads him to guilt. The guilt leads him to shame. The shame he compensates with pride and vanity. When pride fails despair takes over and they all lead to his destruction which will become his fate. Somethings got to stop the flow.
This movie really touched me. We fight for all the wrong things and shackle ourselves with chains of our own making. Let go people! You will make your life and the lives around you better for it. One thing the movie didn't touch on, we hand over our chains to the next generation.
@atomikmindfu The movie did touch on that. Ink almost condemned his daughter to damnation, just to numb his pain, and hide his guilt. You missed the main theme of the movie.

What is phonograph looking instrument Jacob is playing? Is it an actual portable phonograph?
jtchen22 2 years ago
That's the coolest thing. The beat of the world Jacob hears is in 4/4 and the soundtrack follows it. If you notice it plays three notes at a time, the moment he activates it the soundtrack switches from 1... 2... 3... 4... to triplets on the beat 123 123 123 123...
It's almost like the device directly changes the soundtrack. It's like the subtle introduction the 3's to the world's music is what jars it out of the 1 2 3 4. Just the slightest most subtle nudge from the notes of the box.
