From one Twanger to another, I salute you twanger style twangalanger. is the twangier king any good for clean country jazzy twang. I love my mim std stock pickups, to be true full they are great, I just want a bit more twang. The twang king sounds like its meant for twang, but names can be deceiving. I just nearly snapped my finger as I got to exited on my guitar, I love them snappy twangy sounds you get when you really snap at the high E and b strings.
@TheTangentUK Also I am running my tele through a Hot Rod Deluxe iii, so I am clean sound type of guy, its why I bought this amp. Just been really going for it on this amp as I just got it yesterday, traded my Crate 120 flexwave HS in for it, as I was saying I have been hammering my new strings, which are only going to last a few days at this rate, may stick some Elixier on next time and see if the extra money is worth it
Any way hot rod deluxe iii, which pickups would you recommended for pure twang twang twang heaven, and more twang if possible. Thought about Tex Specials for awhile to get and keep that fender tone. I always think if you have a telecaster its because you wanted that twangy tone, and buy other company pickups is straying away from that, so buying fender replacements is probable the way I am going to go, just wondered if you thought their is a better pickup other than Tex Specials for twang,
So how do you like the pickups? I have joe bardens on my tele and I want something else. The bardens are supposed to be good but they don't do anything for me.
Ooops. Sorry, man. Didn't see this before I went off on the other demo. Now THAT'S the sound we need to tell what's good. And I'm real closed to buying the Twang King neck. I use the Chopper T in the bridge, wired for series/parallel/single and I love it.
wow, love the guitar man, really great work. read that you had to do some work to make the fast track 2 fit......just wondering if it was anything major...i'm really thinking of putting in the same pickups in as you, but i'm not that great of a wood-worker if i am totaly honest
hey man i have squire strat bullet, i know that changing the pickups makes it sound better, but what can u tell me about the neck..did u have it setup?.mines is horrible so thats why i ask
I think I bought the neck twang king about 11 years ago but I'm not sure. lol. I'm tryind to figure it out so maybe you could help me. The neck pickup I'm inquiring about has a third wire (real skinny) does this sound like a twang king? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
There ya go!! That sounds nice! And Rockerdude, you sound like a real 'bucker-boy to me. Both have their place. Don't know if I agree Ecuolizr. Lotta guys like Keith leave the bridge pup as is and install buckers in the neck. The beauty of Tele's is, you can put almost anything in them.
the twang sucks man, anything outside of country,"twang" is just a moniker for a too bright, thin sounding single coil.Really most stock teles sound awful lol, neck is super muddy and dull, and bridge is super bright, thin and harsh, but put them together in the middle, and man, youve got a great sound.
hi..do you think the fast track 2 will sound good on my jaguar?..im also planning to put it on my bridge..i want a punchy and full tone..do u think FT2 can do that to my jaguar?..thanks
hi..im planning to changed my jaguar pick up(bridge) and im considering the dimarzio fast track 2..do you think its a good idea..thanks..hope for your reply..im playing on a rock and shoegaze band..
I just ordered a Duncan Hot Rails which is almost like Fas track 2 in terms with output and I have a single coil neck. Do you get ay twang in the middle position?
i have been planning this for a while, i acutally have a couple of those peavy generations (retail 175-249) that i bought for 100 bucks each, that hold their tune.etc but they need a pickup change like this, nice work.
Really good vid. It sounds good.

the bridge sounds great - but the fast track is taking away your tone... install single coil twangy pickups!

man, keep the neck pickup, and put a low output humbucker like a filtertron type thing in the bridge and you got a whole lotta guitar right there.
