You guys are stupid, he's still breathing because his spirit is alive, but his body is dead. Richie was a maniac who lived on his own respect, that's why he started acting extremley bipolar when Tony and the crew started fucking with his head. So here, Janice killed Richie but he wasn't completley dead. When Tony came in like that, it was to create a distraction and put Richie's spirit to rest; if u haven't seen the whole episode, Furio and Christopher come and cut the body all night.
