So, looseroots, how's the Buell doing these days? I have the exact same model, year and color. I currently have as of February 8, 2011, 19,740 on the odometer. It's been a great machine that as you say...is a keeper forever. :) I live in Texas and have taken the bike all over in the state in rain, 25 degree cold and103 heat. The machine has performed quite well. I've been through 2 front rotors because of excessive summer heat I believe, but outside of that, it's been a flawless machine.
@parrotheadstx .. Texas eh! So you can ride all year! My XB is in hibernation right now waiting for warmer days. It's been great, the more I ride the better it runs. Has about 13K now. A few improvements helped... comfort kit with ecm flash, ngk iridium plugs and for comfort one inch precision engineering bar risers and palmer windscreen brackets.A set of Metzler Z6 tires are waiting to go on. Thinking about a D drummer exhaust and ebr module although it runs just fine!
@looseroots I put a drummer on my 06 ulysses and I love it. I also flashed the ecu with buell's race settings using ECM spy. I recommend the drummer pipe!
No, its normal for stainless steel to turn that color with heat. Not as hot as it looks. However the Uly does produce a lot of heat on the right frame from the rear cylinder. Since the video I've installed the Comfort Kit with heat shield. Problem solved. It's a sweet bike, too bad HD shut down production. I'll keep mine forever.
Lets hope that Eric B finds someone else to invest in the buell line. They are to great of a bike to kill. My oppinion HD dropped them because Buell was cutting into the proffits to much.
so I notice in both vids of your Buell, the bluing on the header... have you burned yourself yet, or is it ok? Thinking when i get mine to get the comfort kit (heat shield)
