  • this is one of the most comfortable looking ones i have seen on youtube

  • Thanks! Went for comfy to use rather than "smallest".

  • how do you know when its about to die?

  • screen image starts to get wavy.

  • he just made the N64U wow

  • Ok they exist. Thank you so much you are the most helpful person on you tube :-)

  • I've bin wondering if it is possible to create your own n64 compatible cartridge tht would have oh say 2-4 gigabytes of memory for the specific purpose of holding an entire library of games on one cart. Is tht possible?

  • What you need is an Everdrive 64 cartridge

  • Wow! That's a really awesome design, Bac. But I noticed something a bit odd-- the B and A buttons are backwards. Was that on purpose? Either way, this is great. I may ask you for a commission after I get the money. :D

  • Yes, commission price is £400-£430 plus postage: £15 in UK, £30 outside UK. Customisable options.

  • do u sell these cause these are really cool

  • That is just a brillian setup! I especially like the tv-out feature. Nicely done!

  • Thanks!

  • Hmm, I think maybe the ergonomics are a tad wonky, the way your thumb is positioned on those two big buttons looks like it would really hurt after a short time of playing. That said, I do think the buttons are rather large in comparison to the analog stick.

Cool device nonetheless, was surprised to see no ventilation ducts.

  • Ventilation is via the gaps by the game cart, so air can move around the case ok, without needing vent holes. A bit of design, yeah!

The buttons are flat, home made and were designed to be proportionate to the GBA buttons for a case that size; the analogue stick is large as a SuperPad one BTW.

  • can you play it while its chargeing?

  • Not a good idea as the N64 portable takes a lot more from the batteries than a normal charger can input; it puts strain on batteries and can easily cause them to fail, or lose life; so no, either play the system, or charge the cells, but not at the same time!

  • @MODDEDbyBACTERIA thanks for your reply. if i were to build a n64 portable, would there be a way to add a switch so i can switch between charging batteries and playing on ac power?

  • Sure, with an extra switch you can, if you want.

  • Image quality is very good as you've probably deduced from the video, clear clean image on the television. I used shielded cable from the console to the video lines, which helped too.

  • i see it does not affect the image quality by splitting the signal outputting to two screens.

  • nice job , its amazing you managed to fit an entire N64 in that mold Oh & my CD-i says Hi...:-).

  • Pleased you are enjoying the Philips CD-i I fixed for you!

Got another CD-i to fix now...!

  • awesome!)

  • EXELENT JOB !!!!!

  • Very cool, I would buy one of these.

  • that NTSC game must be horrible, not just you!

  • Great as always!

  • pretty sweet i'm guessing that this is your 3rd or 4th portable n64.

  • Great video as always Bacteria, always love to see your new uploads. Can't wait to get started on my N64 hand held, going to be hard but your video's will help me massively, if it takes under a year to complete I'll be happy lol.

  • Thank you!

I love the look of the original GBA, and it makes for a very attractive casing in my view, hence why I custom made a mould to vacuum form - this is the third system i've made using the casing, however the first to implement the larger buttons I originally wanted to implement into the system design.

  • looks amazing

    just like a gameboy
