When he was in the Marine Corps during World War 2 my Grandfather went through a 30 day Hand to Hand combat course. These were some of the techniques he was taught. He also trained under Drexel Biddle.
@MegaThoughtCriminal I would say "borrowed". Most modern martial arts are picking techniques from here and there. There is not much point re-inventing a wheel, but more like finding what works and concentrating on that.
