Before I converted, I grew up Catholic and heard the same nonsense of heaven and hell. I don't need threats from imams and authorities. I just keep a simple faith in one God. Humans create hell every day. But thugs that imagine they will escape Allah are delusional. It's all human nonsense. As soon as we pretend we can speak on behalf of Allah, we are illegitimate. Take Afghanistan for example. Up until 1970's they were a quiet people and a quiet country. When the barbaric Soviets invaded, War and the murder and oppression of Moslems started, and up until now has turned that country into the Afghanistan you see today. Don't tell me that Taliban just grew out of the ground. Needless to say that Afghanistan then became the hot spot for terrorists and the likes.

I am so proud of the Iranian people for gathering peacefully. (The stone-throwing will not help their cause.) Their struggle is the same as everywhere, and we can support them with words, songs, prayers, but not weapons. It's not about the US; Obama should let it play out. Chile, Philippines, Serbia, and the civil rights struggles in the US achieved victory without violence. If nothing else, Iranians have averted nukes US right wingers were calling for: their humanity is so visible. Peace

Hopefully, the Iranian protesters will soon understand that Mousavi and Rafsanjani are not their friends. The only answer for the people of Iran is to get rid of the religious stranglehold of the ayatollahs and Revolutionary Guard and basijs choking your country and to have a real democracy. Once you remove them from power, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and we will all be free of the main threat to our security here in the Middle East.

One day I am sure we will have our own revolution to deal with.
