Oh dear, I was 20 years-old in the mid-eighties and the fashion was scary. Although I dressed punk in the eighties(leather jacket, leggings and short boots) I really cannot do the high waisted, pleated pants(yikes!) I still wear leggings and boots but it's a more classic look now. Pleather has a come a long way. It looks surpisingly like leather. That's what I'll be wearing.

I love the forties look, ie pencil skirts and feminine tops.

I created the shoulder pad thing in the 1980's looking for a surefire way to get respect, look taller and thinner and they are an easy way to change the shape.

I was a young 20-something in the 1980s. I love the fashions of that time. The 40s trend was big back then too; that's where the big shoulders came from (but they just got bigger & bigger in the 80s!). I traveled in Europe at the time, and saw lots of Parisian chic and so-called "punks" in England. Those styles eventually made their way to the U.S. -- it took longer back then. The other big trend in the U.S. was preppy. That's what I wore then, but I won't be revisiting that trend!
