  • so good, actually gives me chills.

  • reminds me of kings of leon. the mood. and especially his cracking vocals.

  • Saw them perform the rat in a close quarters, dark and smoky Red Lion Pub, Augusta, Ga. One of the best band performances I have ever witnessed. They should have produced a similiar video, such a powerfully dark and mesmerizing performance at the Red Lion !!

  • The guy with the strat; his strap looks to be on its last leg there.

  • First time what i listen this song and i cant stop.. i love it !

  • I actually think this version live sounds better than the one on the album...Been lisnin to these guys since the first LP... The last of the great grunge bands. Not thrilled with their new album"sugar" though, its like theyre tryina take middle-ground between nirvana and the foo fighters. Wrecking ball is the album style they should continue to pursue, instead of the alt-rock on sugar. DeadCon will last into the next decade as a breakthrough band if they keep up this kinda quality!!

  • @mgbfast3rthanu I agree. You from Augusta?

  • Gives me some hope for the future.. this band is legit

  • ty texpradio for this video i love them

    ouiiiiiiiii so good song

    merci

  • I saw them live a while back with Manchester Ochestra and Kevin Devine. They were awesome live. I love this song. It has a good, overall vibe to it.

  • Saving music from da Bieber bastards.

  • What a bad ass band!

  • Damn,, i love this song

  • Interesting sound. A mix of Phychedelic Rock, Southern Rock, and Grunge.

  • ik hou van houthakkers met snorren, deze clip heeft het allebei...

  • grunge lives on

  • Haiya

  • IT'S ONLY A FIVER FOR THE MUSTACHE RIDE F' YEAH I'M IN A BAND

  • Saw them live and they are really good glad that there are still bands like this in the time of today

  • @MrSilverans There always will be bands like this..you just need to know where to look

  • brilliant! they sound so awesome! love this song!

  • its cool to live in the town where these guys are from and get to see them quite often locally

  • The acoustic version is way better, in my opinion anyways.

  • very best song...

  • I got to see them in the Warehouse live in H-town along with Churchill and they blew my fucking cabeza!

  • If anyone has a chance to see these guys live I strongly recommend it. Great group of guys who put on a great show~

  • @jordn6971 i missed my opportunity to see them on saint patty's night in houston. -BIG mistake. i'm full of regret >:(

  • turd

  • Meghan, if by any chance you get to read this message, I'd really like to chat with you again about band names and stuff.

Got a fb account but couldn't find you...

  • this song is amazing i just found out about this band a while ago and cant stop listening to them

  • this is flipping brilliant, good to see

  • "The judged be judged and the wretched be save" amazing lyrics. Love this song

  • Those are amazing lyrics! Almost as good as, "Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet eating her curds and whey..."

  • you can tell, by the way they're performing it, that this song means a lot to them.

  • i love how dead confederate sounds different that a ton of other bands... they're very unique and soulful..

    ^^

  • what have you been smoking?

  • music-enhancer

  • screw u music hater

  • @bluespaceships00 dude i love this song and band. the guy does happen to resemble edward furlong though...

  • this band fucking rocks got ther albums ..if u dont get them now

  • This a great song. Great performance. Nice to see bands perform live like they do on the album.

  • okay , i guess not! idk?

  • hey, can anyone tell me whats going on in this video?

  • They're fucking playing in radio station's studio. What's not to get?

  • okay, they're playing in a fuckin radio station. my question was directed a lil more to whats going on in the video. the boy is putting something or someone dead in a plastic bag into a red wagon and wheeling it into the woods? yeah, i do that everyday! maybe he is taking it on a short cut through the woods to the radio station's studio! yeah, that's it!

  • LMAO, you said "can anyone tell me whats going on in THIS video"

    not, Dead Confederates music video/

  • i guess i left out the details. didnt need an attitude. no question is a dumb question!

  • Yeah, a lot of questions are dumb questions. But I guess, the attitude was unnecessary.

  • thanks 4 recognizing the attitude. good song though!

  • i think we r talking about 2 different video's! u should check out the video, "The Rat"

  • uhh no, your question was a dumb question. Maybe you didn't even watch the video you're commenting on or something, but you asked what was going on in THIS video, and asianmatt answered that for you. THIS video is not the music video for The Rat that you're talking about, THIS video is a live version of The Rat performed by the band in a radio station studio. Therfore your question was, in fact, a dumb question.

  • wow! giving specifics, minor mistakes! oh shit, actions of a human. oh and the worst of all, asking dumb questions. someone please help me!

  • I love this song so much.

when I first heard it i just couldn't stop humming it even though i didn't know who sang it yet.

  • yea i know right,i posted a question on yahoo answers asking if there were any good grunge bands anymore and someone mentioned dead confederate, and i was thinkin to myself,i bet there gonna suck, but i heard this song and i was like, holy shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,and it is

  • AWESOME SONG

  • the future of R&R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They wiil be in Oceanside, Ca. today! TODAY! 949 Independance Jam

  • Yeah they reminds me of Nirvana a bit, but much cleaner. I fricken love them =)

  • They have a great sound, classic rock with a darker undertone. Better than Nirvana, cleaner.

  • well the not so clean sound from nirvana is a little dedicated to the grunge periode no?

Grunge is a bit unclean. :)

  • Fair enough... poor choice of words. I feel this band delivers in an articulate, yet soulful way. Nirvana was absolutely grunge and I did enjoy the raw and almost a laziness that was his genius.

  • yea i think there much better than nirvana, cuz they're way easier to understand, and they're actually the band kurt cobain wanted to be,cuz kurt didn't want to be famous,he wanted to be an underground grunge/rock band,w.e u want to call it,this is exactly what he wanted to be but he fucked up and made smells like teen spirit and became popular

  • he made a good song that became popular, how is that fucking up?

  • i kinda said it wrong, like he didn't screw up,but thats the song that made him popular, and he didn't want to be mainstream,my bad g.

  • The first time i heard this song i fell in love with it. Something about the music mellows me out, but makes me want to cry all at the same time. I love it. <3

  • Same here... same here. =)

  • just saw them in london along with Darker my love and a A place to bury strangers. amazing

  • yeah, they were great with the whigs here in boston, how is a A place to bury strangers? I've been meaning to check them out

  • Fantastic, but my ears are screwed up from the gig. was a small venue, and now i have a permenent ringing in my ears, but i only notice it at night or in librarys (silent places). still, worth seeing, but stand at the back! also, order a coke with sothern comfort and dark rum. lovely drink i made the same night. (bar staff had ear plugs, wise)

  • i had never heard of these guys before but when i first heard this song on the radio. i was totally blown away. im in love =]

  • nirvana!

  • this song is so fucking awesome!!!

  • oh haha everyone else is saying nirvana too :X

  • this song reminds me of nirvana

  • Don't change Dead Confederate. Don't change.

  • I like this version better than the video.

  • 1st song ive heard from them so far.. and i must say i really love the sound. really similar to drive by truckers and such. which i love :)

  • Funny you should make that comparison because they've shared the stage with Patterson Hood. Most people see the Nirvana connection, but they definitely hold on to their southern rock roots.

  • My band was lucky enough to be on the bill with them at a small venue in Tampa about a year or so ago and afterwards I was discussing musical influence with the lead singer and Neil Young came up...so yeah. That sort of harder alt southern rock thing. Lots of other influences too.

Side note, we get to open for them again in a few weeks. Woo hoo!

  • @PoonJammer69 Wow I am going to see the DBT Sunday night at the Freebird in Jacksonville. I was checking out this video because this band is coming to Wanee fest in Fl and I remember they toured with DBT. Glad I checked out this video!

  • Stupid human, shit for brains. Brilliant song! Finally, these Dead Confederate has come to redeem the music of this dreadful decade!

  • This is very refreshing. Dead Confederat is bad ass. Nice song.........

  • it dont reminds nothing its special song great song dudes

  • reminds of nirvana

  • will they help people find jobs too???

  • These guys and the Whigs are the best bands out there right now. Forget Colplay and shit like that. The Whigs and Dead Confederate are the truth and the future of great music. Support them and watch what happens.

  • Nirvana meets Pink Floyd, especially on tunes like Tortured Artist Saint and Start me laughing. The Rat has stuck in my head deep. I had to listen before taking my old dirty sag of bones to work.

  • its

    bag and burn

    Bang Bang

    everlongjenny

im obsessed with the rat and totally love goner and heavy petting. id like 2 see a tad more of attack in some songs on the album.

otherwise they dont waste a note. i def see another nirvana here which is amazing because kurts my fav.. i could see this band blowin up

  • ...Wow...they are pretty good...the singer is very impressive...His "anger" sound is very cool...but needs a little bit more control in the voice...

I miss somehow only one thing here(I listened to 6 songs of them), a little more speed and more "happy" songs (try to "cover" country^^)...

    Finally,

The sound is very good, keep it!

  • And while we're at it, ducks should say "moo" and Disney should start making snuff films.

  • I don't think you will see any "happy" songs from them. Happy's not who they are, and that's a good thing. I like the singer's "anger sound" too.

  • I heard them on Conan'O and instantly feel in love. It's been a long time I've heard GOOD music from a band I'm excited to hear more of.

They bring me back to the 90's alternative grungy sound that I miss.

  • well said man. Thought the same way when i first heard them.

  • They Rock

  • OKAY, so everyone is here that likes them, right? Okay, so they're obviously about to explode and become big. We're in on this secret for now. They're not emo, so it's cool, they're not a grunge rip-off, so it's not a revamp of the genre. I can't wait to tell people I knew about them before they did.

  • Right on, my thoughts EXACTLY. Reminds me of Nirvana before they blew up.

  • Me, too! They are gonna be huge and I can say I heard of them first. They're like Nirvana reincarnated, except from Georgia and not Seattle. ^_^

  • More psychedelic than Nirvana, less grunge. I can see where your coming frmo though.

  • When I first heard them I fell in love with their music!

They do kind of remind me of Nirvana. I Love Nirvana.

  • awesome

  • their lyrics are pretty strong.

  • i like his voice :D

  • i'm obsess with "the rat"

  • prettysweet thanks y'all

  • Whoever shot this is a fu%king genius. Genius.

  • back & forth

    bang bang

    i love this video, thanks

  • Nice to see a band rock out on the radio even though no one can see them!

  • great video! cool to see an in studio performance recorded like this.......
