Pip got at least 2 more dunks in this game.. a two handed cram right in the face on Robinson.. and a one handed tomahawk where he took off like a step inside the free throw line.. both awesome dunks.. but i guess you cant put a guy in the top ten 3 times!
Lol Barkley dunks on Mutombo and then throws the ball at him with a straight face. A few others nice plays that weren't on here were Jordan's alley-oop lob from an in-bound behind the basket and Clyde Drexler going coast to coast and Jordan having to get out of the way so he wouldn't be dunked on
If you watch the full game, Clyde Drexler had at least three more plays that should have made this list, including an unbelievable no look, backhanded bankshot layup at full speed over MJ, Isiah and Scottie Pippen that had Dick Enberg and Mike Fratello falling over themselves.
@badpdx Yeah, I think i know one of tyhe plays you are referring to, Dick Enberg says "you can here teammates yelling watch your back," when Clyde went coast-to-coast and Jordan got outta the way
@badpdx: That's one of them. Drexler just kind of put on a burst of speed to the hoop and left everyone behind. Then, in the second half, he stole a pass and dunked it with Jordan defending and hit that unbelievable shot I mentioned. Yet none of those plays are in this collection.
Under the circumstances, Magic's performance goes down as the greatest in All-Star Game history in my book! LMAO @ Barkley dunking on Mutumbo and then throwing the ball at him while he's getting up!! Jordan, as usual, is utterly ridiculous in this game...
I miss basketball's Golden Era. The league has gone way downhill since these days, which is why I stopped watching after the 97-98 season. I tried following the NBA over the years since then, but the league is so bad now it's not even worth watching. I just stick with watching the good ol days of great basketball back in the 80's and 90's.
amen brother.. amen.. it's not that the players aren't talented now, it's just that there aren't many that are likeable. 1998 was my last year of watching too. this was truly the golden era.. look at all the "legends" in this game.. do you think in 20 years we will be talking about Tracy McGrady or Shawn Marion? don't think so
Bandwagon? Living outside Chicago in the early 80s and following the Bulls through the shitty years until they rose to greatness hardly qualifies me as a "bandwagon" fan.
@hoobie06 LOL im not afraid to say im a bandwagon fan of MJ...born in 88...when i know anything about NBA he was on his way to his 2nd 3 peat...he is so good u just gotta love him...
of course we won't be talking about tracey mcgrady or shawn marion! Who are they? We will be talking about kobe bryant, lebron james, shaquille o'neal, dwayne wade etc!
This was basketball's Golden Era. When every player didn't have 30 tattoos, they actually had a mid range jumper, and players understood the fundamentals of the game. Outside of a few players, the league is going downhill.

That pass from Magic to Hardaway was just mindblowing. I've yet so see anyone with the kind of court-vision that Magic had.

I agree with you 100% bro. The NBA will never again have the same type of players that impacted the game back in the golden era.

and the more traditional role of the "big man" was still popular... i agree.. the tatoos on the neck and face look just awful of the players today

This was when the all star game meant something...when players truly loved to play and compete...I mean truly compete!!!
