  • one of the best versions of this song on youtube, great playing and vocal, and the sound suits the song. Shame you didnt play it for longer it's really good!

  • @MrOvlov thank you very much.

  • Awesome song (am walking down the aisle to this next week!!) you played it wonderfuly, and if i'm not mistaken that scenery can only be my home village of Bethesda!! what a wonderful landscape.

  • Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding (I assume you are getting married, and not just walking down the aisle for some other purpose!) yes it's Bethesda - looking out over Tan Treflys towards Braich Melyn. all the best (hwyl) :o) Alan

  • Such a nice tune. And Welch is such a canorous language.

    All the stars... :)

    Found this translation:

    Down by the sea

    Down by the sea red roses are blooming;

    Down by the sea white lilies are gleaming;

    Down by the sea my true love is dwelling,

    Sleeping all night, rising up in the morning.

    All the best

    Alan...

    Thisbeautifully-rendered song about the sea-shore was breathtaking in delivery. Sentimental,sweet and sensitively performed...it not only gave me a sense of meloncholy and nostalgia,but also a feeling of hope that the spring will soon return. Many thanks for this marvelous and delightfully charming and warm musical showcase in the folk song tradition.

    Peace,

    Max
