Even if the textures and models are the same, the improved framerate makes it look much better, and I'll probably buy this game no matter what because I love Ocarina of Time.
That said, it seem like replacing the textures should be fairly simple . . .
N64 textures weren't just low-resolution, they were low-color on top of it. You'd have 4-bit color textures and stuff like that all over. The biggest difference seems like the upgraded framerate, the N64 game chugged like a slideshow.
Honestly it doesn't look much better than the emulated versions I run on my PC with AA and AF. Pretty much the biggest difference is the fully 3D rendered interiors.
Looks so great. Been telling myself I won't get it cause I've played it so many times before but I kind of have to now. New textures look great, the game still seems to play as great as it always has and as usual the Master Quest is going to be great too. I actually really liked that part of the video towards the end despite how short it was. Looking forward to checking it out in 3D most of all; as great as the game looks in trailers it's that 3D effect we unfortunately have to wait to see.
Poor not-updated textures (especially the ground) and char/environment models (even the updated char models have clump hands), strange fluorescent water, clipping (Link's shorts on bed), weak particle effects (various flames), spot shadows, flat chains, plants and bushes, N64 MIDI sound, and why do they keep showing the final dungeon and second to last boss.
@fartybumholes The ground textures are clearly updated, you knob. When you talk about N64 textures, you're talking about 16x16 PIXEL textures under 4KB in size - that's pretty obviously not the case here. Pretty much everything's been updated, actually. It's more a case of you misremembering what the 64 is capable of than incredible laziness on the part of the developers.

If you can't see these, get your eyes checked! 0:35 N64 textures, 1:05 N64 textures, 1:28 N64 textures, 2:31 N64 textures.

Graphic-wise, it looks like total ass. Other than that though I greatly look forward to this.

Going by what they've shown so far, only about a fifth of the textures look significantly upgraded.

@fartybumholes
Only a fifth, you say? I'm very interested in this method you're using to quantify how many of the in game textures are upgraded.
And your eyes don't count, I'm fairly certain them shizzes are out of order.
