Pakistani people are a sad people. General President Musharraf was the best and only true president for our country. Your right Gen. Pres. Musharraf sahab does not own Pakistan, we the people do. But then why are the zardari's seen as monarchy? Hmm... Musharraf has more right over Pakistan then any other politician. Check your facts people.
Musharraf is in trouble! People hate him for destroying the country. You will see one day Musharraf will either be assasinated or sentenced to death by the court when all the charges against him are brought forward...
because there is a need to express awareness and the courage. musharaf kutta or his napak army doesnt own the country. nobody has a right to amend the constitution illegally/or with a dako rubber stamped parliament. down with fauji mafia and bb kind of looting politics.
These students who are protesting here need to learn some more. Why are they pushing their nation further into a gutter?
It is they presently, and others like them in the past, who have contributed in this manner to retard the nation from whatever little progress it made.
Emergency Law passed by Parliament in a Democracy was used by "a country" to fight against Communist Insurgency. It restricted terrorist movements, cut down their networks operations. The government defeated the communist insurgency and the communist party later surrendered. It should & will work for Pakistan. President Musharaf is wise to use Emergency Law to fight against the terrorist insurgency. Demonstrators are shortsighted.
Well done... Now the time has come to get rid of this napak army. They r like dogs who bark on the ones who feed them. They r using our taxes & feeding their bastard children & sending them abroad for higher studies. They r using our taxes to make property. Thats y Mush has banned the book "Army Incorporate"
pakistan was not cameinto being by army. the people of pakistan use their vote for pakistan. the people have rights to choose government. this is the first army in the world that has its own industries FFC, Askari cement, Bahria town etc. they have parallel govt they have their own hospital, police, army colonies, educational institutions, transport NLC, telecom, courts. Even now they are hoding Civil institues like uni, accountibilty, embassadors, wapda, steel mills, governor, ministers.
My friend leaders do not come/grow in one night. If one does not let people to select their leaders for 35 years, then where the leaders will come from? Let the procedure starts, I guarantee you "leaders" will emerege. It may take 4-5 decades. Insha Allah if not us, our generations will get benefits from it. Let's not forget all the developed nations worded hard hundered of years to support the system. Then they reach the level, they are now.
bravo students. i appreciate all of u. at least u record ur protest. i hope u all will organize this protest more properly and motivate other students of institution of pakistan. students are a very effective and important factor in civilize society. i appeal all the students please come out in street and strong the lawers movements and save the pakistan.
Being a LUMS Alum, I am proud to see this protest. No one with an iota of respect for the supremacy of law & for the principles of fairplay that our beloved Quaid laid down can support Musharraf's cowardly act. I salute the disposed judges and pray these protests grow in stature and lead to Musharraf's demise. After all if Indians could come to the streets and dispose Indra Gandhi, are we any less? Brave Luminites! Long live Pakistan, Go Musharraf Go!(Saim Kashmiri -- PhD student UT Austin)
Aamir!! Kaisa hai dost..hey can only you and I see these messages? I'm here at UT Austin yaar.. parhai main masroof.. taking courses in Marketing Strategy, Consumer Behavior and stuff ... too suna kaisa chul raha hai sub.. you must be over with CP so that must be a relief
TO MUSH OPPOSERS: He is not as corrupt as BB or Shrif. He did after all bring in a period of economic prosperity and liberalized the media. So what if he wants to cling onto power illegitimately for a while longer.
Is your opposition becoz u think someone else can do a better job?
Is it becoz he is contributing to terrorism, but then the jihadis don't like BB either?
I am sure if you ask the ppl that have been beaten, they would give a good response to continuing have Mush as an illegitimate leader.
Furthermore, the past wrongs, do not mean that ppl have to accept present injustice. Perhaps this means a new leader can arise--I am sure that there are more than just 3 ppl who can lead! Imran Khan would be a good candidate.
Qs from India:1> TO MUSH SUPPORTORS: In his defense he has a point that Extremism is on rise and army is facing severe internal oppstn. BB and Sharif are corrupt, however don't u think in seven years he shld have found a honest politician (eg:IMRAN) or a senior administrative official to lead the nation. He instead shld focus his efforts on tackling terrorism. From a neutral perspective it does seem he is hungry to hold on to power, which might be excusable for a politician not an Army General.
I also think the students need to rally around a specific candidate ASAP. Because there's no other voice, Bhutto has managed to become the media darling in the west. If the students rallied around someone they would get a lot of coverage.
1> If the cases against Nawaz and Benazir are properly handled in court, it is likely that these people would end up behind bars. That may open the gate for new people in their very part. But no, we truely don't have any ideal person in mind as a real choice - its quite depressing.
3> The extremist has no support in society as long as they are the only ones in the wrong. But when the government reacts to the threat of extremism with even more indiscriminate brutality, then people don't necessarily start liking the extremist, but start feeling that they are being given extra ammunition for becoming even more extremist, the fault of which belongs to the government.
1- I am telling you there is no better option and I can back it with facts. Nawaz is a corrupt who had looted and bankrupted the country. Same goes for other politicans.
2- Imran has become relgious extremists. I think you don't watch pakistani channels. Some of this thingshe has said is what you hear from taliban and osama.
3- Extremists have support in NWFP basically and that is because of afghan war.
but it should have been a little more serious protest rather than a laughing flock. but anyways a good "attempt" & should be organized in countrywide universities.
No. The remarks can be basically translated as we do not want to live under a coercive regime, whoever is a supporter of Musharraf is a traitor ... :p most definitely not pro-musharraf. yes it is to the credit of the government that they are as yet laying off the students. however, this protest was staged at a private campus.
Very nice way to publicize this peace protest. though i wasnt present at protest but I have tried to make my contribution by adding this video on my favourite videos at orkut so as many people can see it.

ur speech is ok!!!
but we should be more practical!!!
if u r throwing out musharaf!!!
then u must want someone else to do his job??
u can find many CA's or MBA's in pakistan who may stand for their country!!!
but still no one will vote for them!!
God help those who help themselves!!!!

Mush has committed very serious crimes in Pakistan
1.illegally removing an elected government
2.destroying the constitution.
3.killings and kidnapings of thousands of politcial opponents in the name of fighting extreamism.
4.illegally removing, arresting & harrasing sureme court judges.
5.meddeling in the supreme court affairs.
These are only some crimes of the crimes. Wait to see his own court appearances when he is longer in power.

Qs from an Indian:
1> Whom do u want to replace Musharaf with?
2> Can the civilian leader tackle extremism effectively?
3> How much support do the Extremists have among the "aam admi"?
YTvb 4 years ago
1> We will replace Mush with IMRAN KHAN (InshAllah)
2> When there is an equal law in state then no one become extremist.
3> No one is anti Pakistan; it's only the reaction of wrong policies of Mush/Bush.
jugnu5 4 years ago
1> Though IMRAN is universally liked and respected, the view in India ishe has no realistic chance of coming to power.....
Do u have a more realistic perspective...
