Damn, I can't seem to get that clarity with my own xh-a1. And it's so hard to stay in focus. And you need a 35MM lens to give it that really cinematic look. 24F isn't enough. I'm obviously doing something wrong.

Ok here are some good settings for outdoors...Instead of using neutral density, bump up the shutter 1/4000...I hate motion blur..turn on auto focus because it is good and make sure that god awful 'gain' is set to -3db it will only grainy the footage

I have an XH A1 and I asure you it has no 24p..

europian: 50i and 25F(p)

american: 60i ,30F(p) and 24F(p)

i own this camera, and it takes some nice shots, but in bright or low light the HD footage gets very grainy, and even worse when you try to color correct. Have you been able to get around this? i see that your footage also is grainy.

It's only grainy if you use "Auto" because it wil turn up the gain in low light, creating nasty grainy footage. Never ever use auto, and keep the gain setting to low.

yo berean for no motion blur you need a high shutter speed, like 1/250 or 1/500

check the exp. lock button on the side, and spin the dial

remember the higher the shutter the less light comes in, so either boost the gain (i hate gain coz it makes shit grainy), or just make sure there is plenty of light and f1.6

instead of using 24f interlaced try 24f it's usually p for progressive but on the xh a1 it's known as f

I've used the XH A1 - the dial of presets and the flimsy little LCD kill it for me. Go for the XH-L or an HVX

it's true, but the LCD is enough when you're working I think. Anyway, you can use the analogic viewer.

This camera is really awesome, I own one, and the only bad thing is that doesn't work very good with low light. And now, its opctic isn't infinite, like old models.

I just bought a XH A1 and it's AWESOME. I've been recording during the morning and have to say its quality is really good. Didn't watch it on a HD TV, but hope I will soon.
