How about filling the compactor with balloons? Dead easy to crush but the noise would be amazing. Of course, have a lovely young lady push that button :-) Other ideas.... a glass fish tank.....a computer unit..... air packaging bubbles (the big ones!) Some small wooden fruit boxes/crates.... The fact that a lady like Tracy starts the process is the clincher tho.... try balloons. Have seen it done and it's loud!
