  • she is beautiful

  • really

  • Just loving it brings back old memories of yesterday. Ahhhhh

  • keep them coming

  • First happened upon this on Music Choice about 7 years back. It left my mind for 4 years, and NOW I back into it again. God, I love lucky accidents!

And all this from a guy born in 1990.

  • look at this picture and listen to that voice this is one fine azz sista, full of mature heart felt soul. something these new bimbetts will never ever have even if all the money thay make now could pay for it. Linda Clifford,Phillis Hyman, Mini Reperton, Patti Label,Gwyen Guthrie,Stepanie Mills and Loleatta Holloway just to name a few set standards as female deva voicstreses which will never be duplicated or immulated

  • Where is "AND TAKE THIS DOG WIT YA!"

  • @zodiolestes I wondered the same thing. I didn't hear it in this version and that was the best part of the song---especially when you hear the dog howling in the background. That was classic!!

  • @onemeanscorpio This Definitely AIN"T the same mix as in 1978!!!!

  • Dance with me Ricky!!! R.I.P.

  • This is when music was music!!

  • Classic Music from back in da day!! Can you say deep house!!!

  • You know growing up in the NYC area these were the days. You could go to any city and a record shop had the music blasting. If you were on the jersey side Newark, Elizabeth and Vauxhall would be jumping. Good times!

  • This is one of my favorite songs.

  • I call that M U S I C !!!!!

  • This was the girls in the clubs anthem in Newark back in the beautiful day...

  • can't touch this!!!

  • I gonna drop my paint brush right now. I needs to get my groove on! Ow!

  • Got to love this one.....

  • One of the great dance records of all time!

  • @bangzoom77 You got that right! Of all time!

  • Haahhaaaahaaa...I remember when I bought this record in 1979 when it was released or was it 1978? Anyway I finally bought the album in the 90s at some record store that was selling recycled record albums. Anyway when this song came out it I LOVED it and loved Linda Clifford but it would take me years to know the Jones Girls were backing her up. Love them as well. At the gay parade in NY in 1986 I remember at one of the clubs they worked this song...it was WILD and the energy, WOW!!!!

  • love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song was the shit with a dose of humor - especially when she says "take this dog with you" and you hear the dog howling in the background---that's classic--LOL!!!

  • @tharris1086 yeah, north side too!

    Got the Curtom 45!

    God bless WBMX! :)

  • all these sexy ladies from the 70's & 80's were on a whole different level then these ding bat girls out here making music now. the ladies from the 70's & 80's had a lot more mature heart felt soul. they make you want them.

  • @durtyreddz Damn Skippy!!!

  • @durtyreddz well said!!!

  • Superb record a NYC classic.........

  • woke up with this in my head today. good to find it on YT, and good to see so many recent comments. tracks like this are why god invented vinyl :o)

  • Ovah!!! LOVE this track!

  • Linda, watch out.....Jackie Moore's " This Time Baby" is a hit.

  • I spent sooo long lookig for this. Thank you a zillion times.

  • a true work of art, listen to those strings

  • classic nyc jam!!

  • then it must be true class knows no borders, toooooon

  • @jpa6791 @jpa6791 "Both are agents of change". Well said. This kind of music brought together young and old, black and white, straight and gay. Still do. And it gives a voice to women, who are often just passive receptors of love, doing everythign for a man, in some black music. She's saying "No, fuck that!"

  • i love this joint,, real music!!

  • Nice quality

  • Again, we need to demand from our DJ's by asking them to please play this music and boycott clubs and places that only play HH..we need to get proactive and make sure this music lives and doesnt die!!

  • I stayed healthy and fit from dancing all night and we all left the club with our spirits lifted in a mood of brotherhood and love..not now - there is anger and pissed off people everywhere and when they go out they just get this awful negativity. We are sick of it. I did my own informal survey and the people just want it to stop. They want to dance and feel good not be assaulted with this drone

  • Hello JPA I received your comment.thank you..thing is everywhere in NYC it's all you hear now. Hip Hop and Rap and even techno still dominates all the little clubs and venues its very depressing..I went out always finding a place to dance all night with soulful dance vibes and you know what?

  • This Song, This Song, This Song, is offfff the chain... I love it.

  • OLD ROLLER SKATING MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BACK IN THA DAY WHEN THERE WAS CLASS!!!

  • Weren't they great days. I am so so happy that this was the music I grew up with, women being strong and soulful rather than look my hot ass!

  • YEAH UM THIS IS THE MUSIC THAT MAKES YOU FEEL SEXY NOT LIKE HIP HOP AND RAP WITH THEIR TALKING AT YU POLITICS AND DISSING PEOPLE..THIS SONG IS SO AMAZING LOVE IT!!!!!!! OH MS. CLIFFORD THANK YOU YOUR VOICE IS GORGEOUS!!!!!!!

  • Donald Stone used to wear this out at Catacombs in Philly.

  • ...OMG...the unsung heroine of the '70s...I remember her RSO album, that was chockfull of nuggets...now I know where some of the ladies of today get their mojo...thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

  • Great song & def brings back the good memories of nonstop clubbing back in the days. So many hot spots and amazing music like this. In my late teens when all of this music was fresh out! Kind of spoiled me cause I thought it would last forever - now clubbing and music are a pale imitation of those days! But the music still sounds great and I keep it alive around my way!!

  • @cddjny

Demand from your DJ they play these songs..make a list hand it to them and let them know that even young people would like to revive this great music so you can dance and feel good again!

  • This is the Shi----------------------!!!!!!!!

  • @999Trina you got that right,my niece was laughing at me when i heard this,i was doing my back in the days steps!

  • @mclife1 That was mean.

  • First time I heard this song, my fine azz neighbor up stairs from me was jammin to it by herself. Well natually, I went upstairs to see what all the jammin and heel stompin on my ceiling was about. She told me she had threw her baby's daddy out a few days ago...lol

  • A superb upload, eish haven't heard this in years Im off to order my CD!!!

  • killer xx

  • Thanks for posting this song. Haven't heard it in a minute. Had me up and dancing all morning/. haha

  • MAN THERE AINT NO WAY IN HELL THERES ANYTHING OUT THERE LIKE THIS TODAY !!!!

  • @albksbest Of course not. Because this was from back in the day when music was real and original. If this came out today, it wouldn't even get played on the radio. It has to be computer generated and manipulated for kids to relate music today. This groove right here is TOO REAL!

  • @albksbest you can say that again...

  • @albksbest true dat

  • @albksbest:

    /watch?v=3BcbCEAkD2A&feature=related

Made in 2005. There goes that statement.

  • "Shoot Your Best Shot" is out there somewhere. Please post it if you got it.

  • Linda's vocals and interpretation is unique. She set the bar for funk/disco rendition of a torch song.

  • Str88 Waveeee, this music will never get old.. 18 this month! am still living in my own world LOL =P

  • The pitch on this sounds really strange.........

  • This is way too slow........Sounds sick

  • Some songs will just never die, i remember hearing this song being played at block partys in the 70's in BROOKLYN when I was a kid and people dancing and rollerskating to it, WOW great memories wish I could go back to those days, HITHITHIT

  • @djrogerrubeo that was the song we use to do dances off. I wish I could go back to those good days in brooklyn, when you had a fight and it was over, block parties, house parties, and dance competitions.

  • @djrogerrubeo YOU R ABSOLUTELY RIGHT...LOL

  • @djrogerrubeo And you know there was nothing like a Brooklyn block party back then!!

  • @djrogerrubeo I dont know about this being in the 70s, but this "chit" definately sounds like something out of James Brown's "book".

  • @djrogerrubeo ~ I was one of those people in Brooklyn! Great memories.

oooohhhh Yes they did !!! God bless'em for that!

  • NUFF SAID!!

  • now this is music

  • great to see some people know what real soul is all about, if you love this track you should already have the DONNA McGHEE track and Album title ''MAKE IT LAST FOREVER''. For me like it better, because it sounds like no other track I have heard, and does not sound as commercial . But the great thing about BOTH tracks is that they last OVER 8 WHOLE MINUTES LONG, GROOVY OE WHAT. But the album by DONNA is great as well, the track ''I'M A LOVE BUG'' is something special. CAN U MAKE IT LAST FOR EVER?

  • Good music right here!

  • great song brings me back to when I was illegal (not 21) but still hitting as many clubs as possible & flying in from schoo in kansas City to party at the Garage. Boy was my parents pissed when they got the monthly airline bill, but it was worth it. i don't regret a thing
