A very nice video. May I ask a question about the costumes?

I now very well that tose are very typical Russian costumes, but are they of folk origin? Surely, these are a kind of modern, artistic creation, but has this creatioin been based on a folk costume? Or should we consider them "national"? Who wore such costumes before the Revolution - was it peasants only? Did aristocratic women ever wear those beautiful kokoshniks?

@vitekpiglet The costumes have originated hundreds of years ago, not a modernized creation. They are unchanged as to represent their original look. They originated somewhere before the Christian Crusades to Russia. They were worn by all members of society; the more embellished ones were for occasions or worn by richer people. But embroidery was a common tradition. Kokoshniki are not an exception.
