When I listen to this, it's hard to believe that John Wetton use to do REAL music in the past. He was part of the amazing King Crimson, but money makes the world go around, so he did this shit.
for me, it was on hearing the radio in a rock show. i immediatly had a flash with this song. the album was excellent and all the others believe at the same excellent musical level.
I think I heard this song for the first time, on growing up in NSW, at a church youth group I frequented(think it was at an event at the church hall). In any case, I've liked it ever since! Such a classic. The '80's were indeed the best decade of music were they not?!! I think so, anyway!
@elderberry9 I was suspended from 3rd grade for bringing that album to school on music day(students played 1 fav song) and playing "Texas Love Song" TeeHeeHee! L8ter.
This is still one of the coolest music videos ever made and was groundbreaking for its time. It is far better than any of the shit being regurgitated today.
@profesordeworms I'm here because I know what MUSIC is...and my mom went to the store to pick up milk and left the computer on! and i forgot to take my medication today
im here because watching this video gives me flashbacks of the great times i had as a teenager back in the 80's,specially watching MTV in my girlfriends house in the basement, unsupervised :) ..when i see this video it brings me back,i can almost feel that couch..great times those 80's
THE 1ST SUPERGROUP OF PROGRESSIVE MUSICIANS PLAYING MORE COMMERCIAL MUSIC..STEVE HOWE FROM YES...CARL PALMER FROM EMERSON LAKE N PALMER..JOHN WETTON FROM KING CRIMSON AND GEOFF DOWNES FROM YES N THE BUGGLES..ALTHOUGH THEY WOULD ONLY STAY TOGETHER A FEW YEARS FROM 1982-1984..THEY REGROUPED IN 2006 AND R GOING STRONG NOW..HAVE SEEN THEM 5X IN THE LAST FEW YEARS..SO AWESOME..HOWE AND PALMER R THE BEST IN THEIR RESPECTIVE INSTRUMENTS..GUITAR N DRUMS..SORRY JIMMY P..BUT STEVE IS SIMPLY MORE DEDICATED
aggromerchant, if Page can play on Petula Clarke tracks whats wrong with Steve Howe playing on this? I think this is actually one of my favourite soles form him, a pisser it gets cut off ...
@Inzuro I watch supernatural, but I liked Asia from way before (Got to know it because of Steve Howe). :D In fact, I got into Supernatural when my friend said: "Hey, try this series out. The soundtrack is just the stuff you listen to."
So fantastic song, one of my favorites forever, this kind of music "never" dies, that's sure....some would listen to this to learn the meaning of the word "music" ....
@Aggromerchant - Asia's lyrics are definitely a weak spot, and their music got worse over time. On the other hand, Yes' inscrutable lyrics don't always inspire the mind either, so I imagine Howe was used to not understanding half of what was being sung.

This song would probably be a great way to repair broken friendships, relationships, marriages, & families.........depending on who the people are, what their background is, and what the cause of their drama was.
People need a forgiveness anthem...and this being one of them. Thank the 1980s for that.

@Aggromerchant - Asia's lyrics are definitely a weak spot, and their music got worse over time. On the other hand, Yes' inscrutable lyrics don't always inspire the mind either, so I imagine Howe was used to not understanding half of what was being sung.
