Anyone who's angry about the film showing India's underbelly is living in denial. If you've ever been to any city in India the poverty can't be ignored. I've never been to Mumbai; but I've been to New Delhi a couple times and the poverty is more real in person. As a foreigner it really desensitizes you to the way people live their day to day lives. It is a problem that needs to be addressed; it needs international attention; because the Indian government isn't strong enough to deal with it.

truth. i'm half indian and grew up in america, and when i went to madras as an 8 year old..there were some things i will never forget, most poignantly, a girl my age coming up to our front gate and begging for water with a huge silver dish. it never occurred to me that water was such a commodity.

i loved this movie. i saw it like two nights ago and heard it was good. i didnt really want to watch it because the cover from my opinion was pretty lame. then i saw the critics choice and it won hella awards. so i put it on, and from the begining, i felt like watching the whole thing! i just wish it was in english as well, but no in musical form. i know it has the subs, but the whole movie in english would be superb, everyone in america, americans should i say would love this movie.
