That is like saying the Tsar was an asshole for even bothering in the Serbian and Austrian dispute, and wanted nothing but war, or that Britain was an asshole for defending Belgium neutrality, or France for honouring its treaties, every member of this war had something of great value at stake. The honest soldier in the 1st World War was Manfred von Richthofen called the "Red Baron". He was everytime friendly to the Soldiers of the Entente. He fought as a gentleman. That is forgotten nowadays and especially in the World War 2. I think that enemies should respect eachother again.
