when i say 100years to build a Refinery i'm talking big like the one in baytown texas form what i see on google earth the NorthCut Refinery in Wyoming is not all that big and to build a big Refinery it would take a 100years we as a country do not have skill ppl so we would have to teach ppl and you cant learn to welde over night that is one skill that will take 30years to get very good at and you cant have a Refinery with out welders but mybe am geting to deep

This pipeline will enable Canada to divert oil that is currently refined in the Midwest to the Gulf Coast where it will be shipped overseas for greater profits. Gas in America will become more expensive and jobs in the Midwest will be lost.
I think part of the approval process should require oil companies to build a complementary railway line along those pipes! That should definitely employe thousands of works.

The Keystone project will help very few Americans. The Gulf Coast will see a small increase in hiring, but be offset by job losses in the heartland and higher gas prices for us all.

@cin898 Last weeks Wall Street Journal reported that America currently exports more oil than it imports. We don't need to be importing any oil at all. This same companies has two pipeline projects in Canada that the Government there has put on hold because of their poor environmental record. As a citizen of Nebraska, I can say that the Keystone KL Pipeline needs to be blocked. The proposed route goes directly through the Sandhills region (very environmentally sensitive) and if a spill happened, it would seep into the Ogalalla Aquifer, the primary source for DRINKING WATER in much of Nebraska. Luckily the state has blocked it and enforced a new route around the Sandhills, but the fed still has to approve it.

I have no doubt that Canada is great at environmental protection, but the real concern is the thousands of miles of pipeline that run through the US. There has been over $300 million funneled through various Canadian groups used to try to hamper the oil industry here, and that money came from non-Canadian sources. Tar sands aren't going to do shit. It takes more than half the energy you get from the tar sands to refine the tar sands into useable energy. We should be diving into renewables. Almost every advancement we have made since the industrial revolution depends on us eventually ceasing our usage of oil, coal, natural gas, and fission ready elements and the sooner we accept this the easier the transition will be.

This same companies has two pipeline projects in Canada that the Government there has put on hold because of their poor environmental record. As a citizen of Nebraska, I can say that the Keystone KL Pipeline needs to be blocked. The proposed route goes directly through the Sandhills region (very environmentally sensitive) and if a spill happened, it would seep into the Ogalalla Aquifer, the primary source for DRINKING WATER in much of Nebraska. Luckily the state has blocked it and enforced a new route around the Sandhills, but the fed still has to approve it.

I've seen areas that were mined in the past, and today you would never know they used to be mined, they are completely non-polluted. Canada actually has much better safety protocols than the USA, and actually has laws protecting the environment, and they are enforced. Get your facts right.

I have no doubt that Canada is great at environmental protection, but the real concern is the thousands of miles of pipeline that run through the US. There has been over $300 million funneled through various Canadian groups used to try to hamper the oil industry here, and that money came from non-Canadian sources. I'm not saying it's a big conspiracy, but there is more reasons than safety that people want this pipeline killed.

Tar sands aren't going to do shit. It takes more than half the energy you get from the tar sands to refine the tar sands into useable energy. We should be diving into renewables. Almost every advancement we have made since the industrial revolution depends on us eventually ceasing our usage of oil, coal, natural gas, and fission ready elements and the sooner we accept this the easier the transition will be.

First Id re institute the estate tax
Then Id lower the payroll tax a % or 2, but Id remove the cap ENTIRELY
Id lower corporate tax rate, but Id also remove almost all of the loopholes like for example how they play around with depreciation and seriously penalize shady accounting practices
Id close all of the income tax loopholes and deductions that only affect the wealthy

If a church does charity work then they can set up a charity fund for it or something

That pipeline WILL be built, it`s already done and in the ground on Canada side. I`ve worke on that one 4 years ago, and many others.
