jus got a transformer prime and loving this thing, but i aint gonna put money down on the keyboard cuz well in my eyes i bought a tablet. and well this thing already has a digital keyboard in it so im good with jus that. if i ever find myself needing the keyboard then mayb but for now im happy. the tablet itself has good battery life so i cant imagine battery life with the keyboard, it would be crazy 8|. very tempting

I don't even know why people often neglect to review the keyboard when they review the tablet. For me at least, this is the biggest selling point of the entire tablet. I can get laptop functionality. Take it to class and take notes, etc. I don't own a tablet, and don't plan on getting one until it can replace my laptop. The transformer comes damn close, but I'm waiting for one with an actual hard drive like the archos g9. Next gen transformer with keyboard and storage I will get for sure.

The simple fact that your recent comparisons involve a Ipad that has broken glass says it all. People can argue all day that Apple uses Gorilla Glass but until Corning or Apple confirms that then those arguments are moot. Samsung, HTC, Lenovo, Acer, Asus, LG, Dell, Motorola devices all use GG. So why would Apple keep it a secret if they did use it. Confirming would only embolden their fans, and frankly resistance of their screens are a major design flaw with their devices.

@steveandcharity Aditionally there has been speculation that Apple does not use Gorilla Glass but instead uses a different brand of aluminosilicate glass. So the argument is that it is not gorilla glass but it is the same as gorilla glass. Well that argument is like arguing that Chinese Ipad knockoffs are the same as Apple Ipads. While the components and the OS might be the same the processes might not be. Who can say what the other companies QC or their processes are.

@bensbbygrl07 Gorilla glass is highly resistant especially the newest forms. You simply have to watch unbiased comparisons between Ipad Iphone and Gorilla glass phones and tablets. With that said, Im not going to risk a possible scrath on a $500 device.

two things i don't like about the prime

1) Only 1 Gb of ddr2@800 (the tegra 3 has the ram controller for 2 Gb of ddr3@1600 and it can run 64 bit(arm cpu) linux/os

2) not that much of a bother but; i would liked to see usb 3.0

3) well this one isn't a "big problem because asus is fixing it. it has a locked boot loader. come on Asus your base is overclockers why would you keep people from overclocking a product your SKUing as enthusiast class! Aww anger...

@Apocolyptosaur I think that the transformer prime is a pretty and nice looking tablet exept from the tegra 3 and the 4 cores that actually i test them out and the galaxy tab is the same flawless device! Tegra 3 on that ROCKS and the prime is actually abit thinner but overal, ithink galaxy tab and transformer prime and the expected toshiba's tablet that was released out in CES 2012 would be the winners... It all comes down on what you need the tablet for :)

@XxQwertyxX9090 the battery from the keyboard dock will charge the prime so your battery level will only go down when you have the thing on for about 7 hours... or it'll calculate the total charge renaming... would be my guess

@macross101292 I read that the tablet is recharged whenever the power drops below 95% so yeah it'll still take about 6/7 hours to drain the dock but keep the tab fully charged

I have transformer for 3 weeks and its software is piece of shit !!! Gliches is over the top. I have lost so many text files cz its just sudenly fucks up and the text is gone. Browser restarts all the time without saving pages. Youtube browsing is horrible. And I have to restart machine to get SD card recognized. Holly fuck Android tablets is more like a toy cz you cant even browse web without browser crashing. I know Im bitching but dear God, theese problems is so anoying....

you should try one of those screen protectors which uses liquid before hand to fill in cracks and scratches. like the Zagg invisible shield for example... Not sure if it would stop it from spreading but it would probably fill in the crack and make it look like its not there.

the battery life is what really sold me for the first Transformer. 16 hours means I don't ever have to worry about batterylife. Yesterday I got to school and noticed I had forgotton to charge it, docking battery was at 3% and pad battery at 89% and I didn't have the charger with me. All my friends were like "oh your computah is gonna diez today!" and I was like "Bitch, please". in the end of the day my friends had to hook up their chargers and I was still going strong at 35%.
