okay, this wouldn't be very overpowered in-game if it didn't heal teammates too, as your team would miss out on a dispenser. Much like giving up an anti-fire for your team to crit them from behind. (airblast vs backburner)

This shouldnt be put into the game IMO. Right now, a Engineer has to be near his sentry to give it ammo and health, when the attacker kills the engineer, the sentry cannot be healed and thus destroyed faster. With healing dispensers around the corner, Sentry's will be twice as hard to take down, and the engineer really has nothing to care about anymore.

I gotta agree, it would take a lot of the fun out of being an Engineer; once you get your buildings up, you can just go and dick around, leaving your mechanical babies to tend to themselves. :(

Exactly, the challenge for the engineer right now is to maintain his sentry, and protect it against spy's.

But when dispensers can heal your sentry, the game gets unbalanced, and Engineering becomes way less of a challenge.

@therepth That's what the vanilla engineer is supposed to be, they should be campwhores, because without teamwork a sentrynest is supposed to be inpenetrable. Imagine a 2fort without sentries, that match would be over in 10 minutes. The Sentry's are the last line of defence wich pushes your team to use a medic+demo/soldier combo with an uber to win instead of an easy bumrush.

Maybe just ask your team to help out and it'll become piss easy.

@atomicNoodle You are not getting the point. If we still had this, engies will be leaving their post left and right. You need to think of this from an enemy's standpoint. One spy could rape the shit out of all that gear. Rather than trying to organize random pubbies, who are fucking stupid by the way, to help you barge through. And that way, your teammates can concentrate on actually doing something worthewhile. Like capping. Or what the fuck ever. Without this, engie is a stupid useless class.

@atomicNoodle Technally not, since the sentry gets healed by the dispencer slower than by you repairing the sentry, thus there is almost no difference of killing a sentry with or without dispencer (unless your knifing it). But if the engie dies, and the sentry kills the enemy, the dispencer can slowly heal the sentry over time. But the sentry will have to be out of battle too, thus far would only help on very uncommon places....
