  • I don't give two hoots wether it was all concocted or not. I really doubt it. It was a fantastic show, and for a fantastic reason. When was the last time that you saw something that was GOOD for everyone involved, no matter the out come? We really need more stories like this in our lives...

  • Thank you jamie.....

  • Rod is such a nice guy :)

Go Rod, may everyone hear the soothing sounds of Rod the Radio guy! :D

  • Rod is a nice guy rofl its to obvious

  • The behavior of Rod and Alice is probably fake, but it helps to emphasize the issue, which is really important for america.

  • Rod completely failed at putting the picture on the board....

  • That rod guy's gotta be acting. He and Jaime are def playing up the good guy bad guy angle. I fell for it at first, mainly cause it's the first time I've seen the show lol.

  • My apologies in advance if I may have disheartened other viewers. And for hogging the comments page here.

  • If Rod & Alice are just "acting" - they're pretty damn convincing

  • @carolinemerald77 yea Alice is convincing but Rod was so obvious lol.

  • @undeny what do you need

  • @iEatSuns ..dunno man, tbh! Heck it could even be anything IN the ordinary :P! I'll remove my last comment of blank suspicion till/if I actually find something to go on. Can't watch anymore. I'm just sticking with positive of the final outcome/initiative. Few thots seem to pop in & out now and then. But that's just good TV ain't it. HELLO WORLD! FACT: This is charity. This is his work. Good cause. Is he alone? Y? Reality TV or Reality? Should I chill? Am I stupid? ..lol

  • Comment removed

  • @iEatSuns "Fast Food". Whenever u/me/dupree r too tired/short-on-time 2 have prepared for the day. Yet have enuf to spend on a 'buzz'. I'd b a hypocrite if I didn't have "my own combo". But if these healthy meals end up deep-frozen OR "packed-for-today-ONLY" something other than my appetite's going to die inside of me. What I'm on here is: 1) Raw ingredients (r they really raw anymore?). 2) Is the whole system going to feedback into itself? 3) Another "ratings-council" in the makin?

  • cooking is awesome! At this point it doesn't really matter if this was acting or not. If this show has a positive outcome, and by that I mean people really cooking healthy food for themselves, it matters no more. The important thing is they found a way too get people's attention. [Here in Europe it wouldn't work this way, but we do cook more]

  • olive oil for an asian dish?? ... not so much

  • @amyyyamy it didnt look like olive oil...and if it was it was a light olive oil which carries a higher smoke point and would be good for frying...he usually uses olive oil because its far more heart healthy...

  • @joshlinke from a taste point, it doesn't really fit. sesame oil would be better

  • @amyyyamy only problem with sesame oil is that the smoke point is very low and when you stir fry you need to have high heat, which means you would burn the oil and lose all the nuances that sesame would bring to the table, light olive oil is relatively mild in comparison to EVOO and as such would not negatively affect the flavor outcome of the dish...i would use canola oil as it has a high smoke point, and is neutral in flavor, then drizzle sesame at the end to impart more flavor

  • I can't believe rod has been "transformed" so quickly... he would be a really good person if he was.

  • i feel like taking my comment back from part 1 about rod

  • Ryan Seacrest produced this show! Just telling... :)

  • Wait, they were at Jamie's kitchen. And Jamie wasn't there? What....

  • OMG theres a new Youtube different is sooo UGLY uggghhh

  • They weren't acting. They were locals of the town who expressed their opinions which were that they didn't have a liking for Jamie at first. I mean come on, you can't expect him to roll up in there and have everyone on his side. Of course he is going to have people who don't like him because he is changing their ways and it is in human nature to take change in a good or bad way with no in between. I believe Rod and Alice were totally being themselves.

  • I believe it's genuine. The reactions on their faces show they are. Just that they are the typical skeptics who think highly of themselves.

  • When you come to think of it, Rod, watching food revolution from behind his comfortable desk, really might have been skeptical at the beginning, and as a self-confident radio guy he had his own strong opinion about it (based on ignorance, really). Confronted with real people who suffered and were given hope, he really might have opened his eyes.

We watch only 50 minutes of what was going on for days or weeks.

  • To all those who doubt if the rivalry between Jamie and Rod was real:

You must remember that we watch only small fragments of what was captured.

This is a real battle going on out there in a good cause but we want also a good show and they know we expect fast narration. And fast narration gives you an impression that the rivalry is more intense. That's why some may have doubts if it's real.

  • A great and really good thing to do, but I get the feeling that this was ALL arranged. In other words, fake. Sorry.

  • It's pretty obvious that Rod was acting for the show, but I'm not so sure about Alice, to be honest. There are some old birds working in cafeterias all over the country that don't give a shit about the welfare of the students..

  • "Lovely" , Jamie loves that word doesn't he ? ♥

  • "chaos". he really likes that word, doesn't he? :)

  • Jamie oliver is an amazingly intelligent man with a kind heart and a big dream.

If only there were more people like this in the world, the world will be a better place.

  • This show is so fake. The DJ host is probably paid to become friends with Jamie to give the episode a perfect ending. You can't change a person's mind in a day. In the end, the schools a budget limited, they can't do all these elaborate stuff that Jamie is talking about. Teaching people to cook healthier at home is a viable idea though.

  • @awdrifter3 The whole point of the show is to expand the school's budget so they CAN get healthy food in schools... and this happened in Britain, so I can't see why it can't happen in America...

  • @awdrifter3 ...there are no prices in giving your children healthy food...im sure there are loads of money that go into unreasonable things in US, so why taking away from the children?

  • 6:13 zombie in the back

  • @Mrsbspepisodes haha the big girl in the polo neck?

  • @ozbt63 yes very much.

    controvesy sellz

  • At some point i thought that this should be rather called "Jamie Oliver's Stir Fry Revolution" :D

  • i want stir fry now..

  • How is teaching people to make a stirfry with a weeks allowance of salt a good thing?

  • The overall project is very awesome, and i find i hope for the best for all the overweight people trying to work for a better way of life.

    It is very inspiring.

However, the scripting and acting to "spice up" the show is just uncalled for.

Reality shows is starting to just be another word for a theater play.

  • i say one thing Never Never say something bad on somebody. U need only time and u will see the good side of peaoples

  • aouch have to say, the frozen things, that bag was planted out as a commercial quite obviously.

  • woks are fucken awesome. thank god for the chinese...chinese probably thank buddah but thats beside the point.

fat girl and her wobbles still make me laugh

  • I think Rod and Alice are just acting for the show...

  • @INdiverCT I don't think it matters.. The message is important. I don't think Americans should take it too personally, since is a global issue.. This show could be made in most countries of the world.

  • @INdiverCT pretty sure they are... ive never met people that stupid.. but maybe they exist ?

  • @MrsRandomMadeMeDoIt I'm 50/50 ... I'm not sure... they could just be typical stupid american .. :/

  • @INdiverCT Duuh, you think? Every show and every movie needs an antagonist.

  • @INdiverCT I would think that except I have met people like that who are just ignorant and hate change

  • @maxbps8 I agree. Alice is just an ungrateful selfish bitch.

  • DJ Rod Rocks right now!!!

  • I've been living on my own for about six months now and I've had to cook my own meals. I've found that I really enjoy picking a recipe, purchasing ingredients, and taking the time to prepare a delicious meal in my own kitchen. I especially love cooking for my boyfriend and family members. It feels good to see their satisfied faces as they enjoy a meal that took only a few hours to make. The joy of cooking!

  • i love how the comments about Rod the DJ just change so dramatically when you go through these videos xD

  • at 4:26 there are two photo's of the same person but at different poses?

  • @Tougain i don't think so . . . they're firemen in uniform i guess . . . so they kinda look alike.

  • Stir fry for breakfast? Well better than pizza!!

  • I think its funny that his shop number is 911! HA HA HA!

  • I can't believe that ppl from the states didn't know how to cook stir fried noodles!!

  • Wots Jamie driving ? lol

  • Rod's such an alcoholic.

  • haha I wonder how much the frozen vegetables company contributed. at least its for a good cause!

  • awww man...this is lovely =)

  • @imsiriustube You are a moron.

  • @LiteTheDust haha nice one

  • 1:06 HA! HA! lol sounds like nelson from the simpsons

  • There's something about an independent attitude that makes people resistant to education. But once they figure out how they could wield the power of knowledge, it makes all the difference.

  • As socrates said, all evil is just ignorance..

  • excellent, Jamie could now chase down the fast food retailers and give them food for thought.

  • Every episode this far has been like a sob story, a movie. I have never been this inspired in my life, and so unexpectedly, too!

My only idols this far have been explorers, biologists.. like Dougal Dixon, Jacques Coasteau, Charles Darwin, but now Jamie Oliver will be a part of that list.

  • Rod changed his opinion so suddenly, I wonder if he wasn't part of the program. You know what I mean?

  • @1282louise You try sitting next to a 12? year old girl breaking down as she describes how her obesity problems may end her life in 7 years before she even reaches her 20s, and not have a change of heart.

  • @darkahsoka Yes, you're right.

  • it's kind of silly, but this episode really touched me. thank you so much for uploading!

  • Sidetrack: Ryan Seacrest is the executive producer! :D

  • @Sasabitch18 On one of the episodes in season 2, Jamie goes on Seacrest's radio show and Seacrest is like "Now for the the sake of full disclosure, I do produce the show." lol

  • Well done you, Rod - well done! May we all be that courageous - not just about food, but about changing the perspective about our "truths".... 8-) xxx

  • Rod, We love you!

  • @Broxi1979 I'm pretty sure it's into the billions now, but sad to say it's mainly political point scoring for them, they see tide turning and better to join them than try and beat them. I think jamie is all about fame and fortune though, don't be fooled.

  • @slicknify I don`t believe that, I saw many programs of him and he is just very passionate about these things. Its easy to be cynical when you see someone actually making an effort, but also remember that you can`t create a revolution without the help of the media. No hiding when the whole community is fed the truth and demands change.

  • So far I've watched four episodes and I'm ready to buy this on DVD this show is the best I've ever seen. Normally I don't watch reality TY because of all the drama, but Food Revolution is different. To me this is the first reality show with a point.

  • Goosebumps all over... good job jamie!

  • This is wonderful to watch.

  • I think the initial rivalry between Jamie and Rod has been faked or heavily exaggerated. However, faked or not, turning your worst enemy to your side is a good way to get people to listen and ultimately eat healthy.

  • human candle? gezs man dying a obese person sucks balls.

  • Alice Alice Alice ....

    what are you doing?

  • The best part about Rod is his human-ness. He didn't let pride overtake who he really is at heart.

  • Jamie is a true Achellies ( pardon the mispelling :P) among men. To show such enthusiasim and courage is awe inspiring and makes me take a look at how I do things in my life. :)

  • about time rod wooooo for change man!!!!!!!!

  • GMA is there...of course the Governor is going to be there in his suit. lol...

  • This is the number 1 thing making men unhappy in the USA because 71% of the country is obese or overweight so females that are not are acting like they are above men in public. Jamie I support you 100% please add a staff of healthy females next to you plus drop tower gardens everywhere you go.

  • Why does Alice always have to be a bitch?! Hope she dies chewin on a horses dick!

  • FIRE ALICE!! Sometimes you just have to cut your loses and if after weeks of seeing and experiencing a new train leaving the station she is STILL tieing herself to the tracks then just cut her loose. Click if you agree. Alice needs to find a new line of work. Alice is the epitome of why we have this problem to begin w/ - she just wants her life to be easy and doesn't care about anyone or anything else.

  • @maxbps8

everybody deserves a new clean sleve

  • Glad Rod saw the light.

  • Jamie really likes doing noodle stirfries

  • @ethankegley How else is Jamie going to hawk his line of T-fal wok's it he doesn't try to reignite stir-fry's that haven't been popular since the 80's.

  • @hack451 Hey, good point. I live in Taiwan and have quite a few British friends here, they really like Asian food and I know its quite popular back in England. But, I should have guessed that those woks were related to Jamie himself:) thanks for letting me know. Anyhow, I dont think there is anything wrong with it. But, I never cook stirfries here in Taiwan. Though I do make them for my parents when I go back to the States.

  • @ethankegley I didn't know stirfrys were still popular anywhere. Regardless; now you know he's still a shill.

    Cheers.

  • @hack451 How much did he need to raise to train the school staff? How many woks do you think he sold after this show?

  • @hack451 not exactly, jamie capitalised on the idea becaue stir fry's are actually quite popular in the UK

  • I think the Governor's appearance would be more than just an empty appearance if he had shown support for funding the diet of the revolution that Jamie's wanting to enact. Put your money where your mouth is!

We need an update on this city's situation to see how they've kept their changes - that's the hardest part of a lifestyle change.

  • One year from the airing of this program... I wonder how we're doing now? In Lewis Co, WV, we're still carb heavy and nutrient weak in our school meals. Now what? Help.

  • this show is good entertainment and a good promotion for his book hahaha

  • @ShlomoGoldnagel Not to mention his signiture line of wok's.

  • the rod situation was blatantly put on, rod got publicity and jamie got support

  • Its really bugging me that Rod didnt center that picture on the board right lol. Or maybe he did that on purpose? idk lol

  • No friggin way, rod!

I never knew that the people's health is suffering cause of bad food.

    You are SOOOO insightful! -_-

    (sarcasm)

  • I hate to say it, but i think the Gov was there, less for support and more because he knew it would be good for his image. But i guess you never know, maybe he's different from other politicians.

  • @xeringirlx I wonder if he knew GMA was there. Oh yeah, I wonder about that.

  • yey! rod is on the bright side now... :))

  • Capitalists can afford even a food revolution...They've already shut this guy down...this was 2010.

  • I find it very funny how he keeps using the words that he learned from the ellen show (the one where she taught hugh larie about american slang)

  • Wow, he could win a bet of 77.058 people!

  • @spring4evaful the bet was to get 1000 people to cook 1 dish. not alot of different dishes.

  • Comment removed

  • i love jamie! He should come to nyc!

  • Jamie's brilliant. What better way to get America's attention about a subject than a reality tv show?

  • @MOARRRRRRr Actually this is a documentary.

  • Rod only came out when he realised that there were influential people and media going to be there. What a 180!! He is not sincere, but the most important thing is if this movement helps the people in this town and their kids. So whatever that takes, publicity etc.

  • Its stir fry, because it's easy for rookies and it's delicious. Isn't that obvious?

  • Shows me that when people want to do something, they can achieve great things.

This "Food Revolution" is inspiring at every levels. It lifted my spirit ...

(and being a Canadian living in Japan, gotta admit Huntington look like a great American city ... very nice town).

  • Respect to Rod for cooking with Jamie, but when he stuck that picture on squint at 9:18 I was angry.

  • 1:05 - Rod: "It looks like I'm gonna lose this bet"

    Assistant: "Ha ha!"

(Fucking hell, it's Nelson from The Simpsons, ha ha!)

  • why does he makes spaghetti all the time? all those 1000 people made spaghetti! :D

  • @moshiiiiii he was making noodles not spaghetti they are 2 different things

  • LOL @ you guys not getting that this Rod guy is paid to play a certain character to add plot to the show. Of course the show is real, but they also need something to make TV and make it with an interesting plot.

  • lol. level 1, there fast food. jamie oliver, get to them to level 2 cooking raw foods, then david wolfe, get them to eat raw foods.

  • It's been 4 episodes where he still cooks the same thing! Can't he cook something else ?!

  • @rocksinoo Well, it's ridulously easy to whip up plus I imagine a good, easy stir-fry would make the transition slightly easier than would gourmet borsch soup or lobster thermidor. After all, most of these people haven't cooked so much as a potato in their entire lives.

  • @rocksinoo Its not whether can HE cook something else, Its can THEY cook something else? lol As he said in the first few episodes "We're trying something simple first"

  • I wanna cook that stir fried noodle too! But the recipe isn't provided is it?

  • @Broxi1979 Wad about the USA? How's the program turning out to be?

  • Like a few people, part of me wonders whether or nor Rod was made to go against Jamie in the beginning, in a bit of a script like fashion, for if everyone was on his side, the whole story would get pretty stale. But even if it was, you have to admire him for finally seeing the story the way Jamie sees the revolution. That it affects families gravely.

  • Rob u ROCK!

  • ROB GOT PWND!

  • @MelonSauceCA lol you'r assuming the thumbs downs are from Americans. :P

  • What does chuffed mean?

  • @madsterinuy12 Sort of happy and impressed

  • @madsterinuy12 Basically means your Elated and happy

  • @madsterinuy12 It meens 'really pleased/happy'

  • @madsterinuy12 happy

  • @lilsi93 thanks

  • looks staged.... from bad guy to good guy.

  • @fatyandao

    Indeed

  • Amazing how everyone was smashing Rod in the comments in the earlier parts and here everyone is giving props to Rod.. lol

  • Take it for what it is and cooking with fresh ingredients and benefit from it, after all we are what we eat!

  • this obviously staged shlock really insults the audience's intelligence.

  • @wheaten66 You got to give a little for dramatic effect.

  • @wheaten66 Who cares, it's intentional - for American TV, you gotta work with the average American sensitivity. It does get the message across, which is what matters as it IS important that people understand they shouldn't eat crap.

  • so....touched.....

  • OMG! Praise God for Jamie! Beautiful person

  • OMG! Praise God for Jamie! Beautiful person

  • i'd like to taste that noodle-beef dish!

  • @3752soley ha ha same here :D

  • he went from being stuburn to being EPIC nice ROB

  • i honestly dont care rod is douchebag he can go die in a whole

  • sooo sweet. i'm gonna cry...this was a great project and a thoroughly enjoyable documentary. I love you Jamie- you're my hero- such a huge inspiration. Hope to work with you someday at FreshOne. :-))

  • GO ROD!!! =) How awesome is that!!! Good man. It takes a lot to come around full circle like that. Not many people can do it.

  • 03:20 - Katchiing!

  • Rod isn't a dickhead anymore. I shed manly tears for the change.

  • @swks26 dude it was just a stunt. It did good for the city and ALOT good for his radio station. He got alot of free publicity and he helped the city. Win Win.
