  • caddy gastank bass

  • '72 plymoth

  • Eaton's homemade one-string bass, named Stitchgiver, built from the gastank of a 1978 Mercury Grand Marquis and a piece of hickory and strung with one piece of Weedwhacker line.

  • @fndr100 I knew it looked like it came from a fomoco full size car, guess that explains the t-shirt with the 2 door 70's merc on it

  • You are right. I have owned 6 Crown Vics from the 80s. I have an extra tank like that in my shed. maybe build a bass.....

  • Thanks for that explaination!!

  • I'm still wearing a shirt Kirk sold me from a show at Rustys in manhattan KS about 10 years ago. It's rugged and dirty and nasty these days, but I still sport it regularly. He'd be proud!

  • I saw these guys in 1998, back in Winfield KS, never forgot them, and still hit the music sometimes... they are unique!

  • R.I.P Kirk

  • how many biscuits can you eat this mornin'!!!

  • i saw these guys open for the reverend horton heat a few years back. we thought "just another opening band, no big deal" we had got there hours early to get a good table to see the show from. we gave up the table to go stand and bask in the almighty sound of the SLR. what a show. i am from a speed metal backround back in the day and i have NEVER seen guys play as fast and as tight as the SLR. i hope the lead singer gets better soon. they need to come back to omaha right away.

But that's okay with me, it would be worth it - this is the best fucking band I've heard in at least a decade.</quoter>

Who was better a decade (or three) ago?

  • <quote>

    play it faster next time

    </quote>

    - if they ever did, our ears would spontaneously combust

But that's okay with me, it would be worth it - this is the best fucking band I've heard in at least a decade.

Keep on keepin' on Kirk - we love you.

  • Cravin Copenhagen; takes me back to the early Texas years

  • I saw these guys a couple weeks ago!!! AWESOME!!!!

  • WHERE ARE MY SKOAL BANDITS?!?!?!?!?! Get that SLR band wagon back to Dayton, Ohio...God Damnit! Hope Kirk is getting well.

Play it faster next time! I love Speed....
