OK. I believe the 500 million year thing is a fairy tale, the Wichitas are in SW OK rather than southern OK, and Mount Scott is over 2400 feet high, rather than 2200, but I enjoyed the scenery in your video. Every time I've gone to the Wichita Mtns, I've found things there that I've not seen anywhere (including there) before. 1 of God's exquisite creations :-)
I grew up there(19+ yrs) and spent as much time as I could prowling the refuge and out at Ft. Sill. Great video work! Miss my buffalo and canyon wrens.
awe I'm so sad I miss the wildlife refuge! but He missed so much of the good stuff like the parallel forest, the 40 foot hole, the Holy City and then there's Meer's restuarant and Medicine park... oh well I guess can't cover it all in one day..
wow I am so intimately familiar with every square mile in that area since I lived in Lawton for 9+ years... used to go to Mt. Scott to relax.... I miss those times...
We visited here for the first time a couple of weeks ago... and went back again a week later. Yes, the place is that gorgeous! Of course, this was late May and we have had lots of rain in OK this year, so the wildflowers were spectacular, too.
Great vid of a fantastic place to visit -- thanks!
