  • umm.. how do u see where u going... it would be a bad day if u got rear ended by one of those while blowing snow.

  • does anyone else think its ironic that california dreaming is playing while focused on a plow truck?

  • wth?? no snow in aussy land.

  • thats the cats ass. i think i love everything about it.

  • sounds like it could use some tuning on the carb. Otherwise, it's a nice truck!

  • Were the valves changed out for ones made with modern alloys? The older-style valves used the lead that was in the gasoline engines of the day for lubrication.

  • Not an issue with a low rpm flathead.

  • Interesting. Of course, like I know from flatheads! :)

  • Not being a smart ass, sorry if I came across like one.

Valve sits in the block not the head, way harder to sink the seat.

If the owner was worried about it there are a ton of additives on the market to act like lead.

I have a study some where in my files the shows no lead only becomes a problem around 4000 rpm.

    Cheers

  • A snow blast from the past?

  • its carborated they just sound like that

  • ouch, sounds rough

  • super sweet!!!

  • Never seen a flathead V8 knock like that.

  • Those look like Allis Chalmers augers.

  • I hope it gets working properly. A snow blower like that would actually be pretty handy with five feet of snow.

  • Get the thing working correctly. That is some history there. We have to see it in action.

  • ime, afraid that we have not had the blower spinning,it is free enough but the back engine that drives it is not working, but the chap that actually owns it a friend of ours will get it going when its shipped to Australia were he lives.

  • I would love to put a 460 in that thing and a beautiful set of custom chrome rims and airhorns :)

  • why would someone want a shitty 460 in it plus its all original, if u put an engine in u gotta put in chevy

  • meant to say 468, I've seen one of those custom built by a professional my friend knows he's damn good at what he does it was a chevy block built it for a customer with a 69 Impala had like 800hp that thing was sick

  • isnt a 468 a stroked 455 which is a pontiac engine...im pretty sure it is

  • could be, the 455 was also used in Buicks as well, in the GSX but I do know it's a 468 for sure, it is a GM style block

  • yea thats true, and yes it wouldnt matter if it was chev buick or pontiac because they all have GM blocks...right?

  • although, all 3 are very, very different engines

  • agreed but now today they use the same engines in different vehicles, except for the 4.2 I-6 that is only used in the GMC Envoy, Chevy Trailblazer, and the Saab 97X but they used to use it in the Rainer and the Oldmobile Bravada right before they discontinued Olds in 2004 the 5.3 V8 now goes into the Impalas, Yukons, Colorado trucks and H3's nothing specifically made for the cars or brands anymore

  • yes the 5.3 is the equivalent to the old 350 basically, becacuse it is the most common engine in their products its used in silverados, sierras, colorados, canyons, yukons, suburbans, etc u get the point lol

  • no, the 5.7 is the 350, the 5.3 is the 327, not much difference tho ill agree on that

  • ur right that was a typo i have a 5.7 in my old 90 chev and a 5.3 in my 09 avalanche so i know quite a bit about both engines, but its hard to compare the 5.3 to the 327 bc of its heads and its stroke, lots changed but its the closest engine thats comparable

  • yeap, i had a 5.7 in my chevy love truck and in my 05 1500 theres a 5.3. i like the 5.3 but it lacks power

  • ya although the 09's now have 315hp which isnt to bad for a stock engine, i mean 20-30hp more would be nice so i see what ur saying

  • full tune with sea foam and spark plugs

  • nice work!

  • got some bad valve clatter there

  • lol mamas and the papas california dreamin playing in the BG good song and nice rig, can you show the augers turning?

  • hell with that, i want to see it in action, probably works pretty good. if you could get it to run right.

  • hope to see it running smooth soon!
