  • what a pice of history, take it

  • really the cost of getting that thing moving and in working condition is astronomical, shes pretty rusted up. It is kinda like finding a WWII bomber in your back 40.......is it possible? is it worth it? my answer.............if i had the money to fly out there and help ya...... i would...... : )

  • gizzleypeak you gota tell my were it is all put a new pony a take er home and fix her up

  • Git yourself a pony motor for 'er and Start 'er up! I see a fuel pump!

Shes more a D8 then shes not!

  • I hate too see it like this but...That is a free bulldozer sittin there and with some elbow grease...u can get it running. I hope somone can say it before its too late.

  • "Definitely need ass-protection there." hahaha David's farm reference?

  • best thing eva

  • THIS may sound stupid, as I'm not a fanatic fan of these things. But do they require a key, or are they just really easy to hot wire? As a lot of people are telling 'you' to take it?

  • Im pretty shure that D8 is Christine's big brother

  • Probably stolen long ago . . .

  • ouw that hurt

  • I'd love to find one of those out back.. Summer project making it run ;)

  • That pup will never smile again.

  • You could probably trace it back to a government project!!

  • That's one of the Cats that disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle in 1945!

  • Raginroadrunner, you don't know what your talking about. IF you could get it out of there it would bring thousnads in scrap. Tylerscummins is right. Let it lay.

  • Too cool. I love find stuff like this!

  • why do they just abandon shit in the middle of forests? subscribed to you like the abandoned vids you make

  • Tracks worn out, Pony motor several thousand dollars, if it's up for grabs...why not...get it runnin,,,if it will turn over and if the injection will work..she'll start..might not be finals left..the whole thing ain't worth $100 for scrap.

  • @raginroadrunner it would bring WAY more than 100 bucks scrap now is 11 dollars per 100 pounds

  • @JohnDeere30201 ...scrap it...the owner did...

  • @raginroadrunner

$100 for scrap? What are you talking about? Scrap here is $250 a ton. A Catapillar D8 weighs about 19 tons. That's $4,750 in scrap value. It will be worth more once it is running on it's own power.

  • wheres this at ?

  • Score! wish you could build it up drive it home :) a real treasure!

  • Id rather let is set there and rust away then scrap it and turn it in to some foriegn import

  • @Tylerscummins Yeah, me too! The US Forest DisService will eventually find it. They ruin everything up here.

  • @grizzleypeak id get it running and take it home

  • @grizzleypeak That old Cat still has some life left. Hope they didn't scrap the old girl, I'd love to give them idjits at the Forest Service a piece of my mind.

  • @Fireheart528 right on

  • @jim330rifle I know. But two major problems: get a trailer in there and load it. Then get it out without being caught. Would need some serious rebuilding.

  • @Fireheart528 It looks to be in good shape.I know a man that would love to have that machine and he could get it running too.I think Cat didn't have hydraulics on their machines until after WW2.As for moving it out of there. That wouldn,t be to hard for somebody who knows what they are doing and has the right gear.As for getting in trouble, that is what night is for.To hell with the Forest Service.

  • @jim330rifle Then maybe you should tell him about it. And how about to hell with the government? ;)

  • @Tylerscummins or u can part it and restore that many more

  • @Tylerscummins Its funny some old timers would rather let them rust to the ground then sell them to some one who wants to restore and reuse it.. Trust me i know, i found one deep in the woods an the old guy was having no part in selling it.. sad

  • e amigo velho depois de muintos sacrificios ajudando o progresso este e teu trste fim

  • @maximopessoahotmail English please

  • @Tylerscummins than*

  • dam found my old unit starter up boys shell take ya home

  • omg i love finding abandoned vehicles in the woods

  • you have got to tell me where that thing is

  • omg you should try to get that thing to run lol

  • So,that's where I left her!Thank you for telling me!

  • YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !

  • No pony motor (starting engine)

You'd need another tractor to push or pull it to get it started, the undercarrage is whooped...it's pretty good right where it's at I'd say.

Gives hikers something to look at/play with

  • thats worth alot of money restored!

  • HEY THATS MINE HANDS OFF!

  • if I found one of these complete I'd probably get it to start and drive it all the way home.

  • i think it was left there because it got a flat tyre

  • I would fix that and drive it all the way home

  • thats an awesome find

  • I have one of these ( I think it is a 1948 IH TD6) unrestored left on some property I bought in southeast Texas.

Contact me at dquinn1@gt.rr.com if you would be interested in buying it.

  • tired old iron, let her rust in peace

  • brings a tear to the eye to see that dying there. For the right person it would be worth every cent spent on it

  • yeah, she'll fire up pretty easy all you need is a pony.to get her cranking..the main engine.the rest is easy..clean fuel & filter, clean oil & filters....

  • Looks like a 1H or 8R, throw a pony motor on her, some fresh diesel , she'll fire right up and go back to work, that's what CAT's do. Period.

  • its a cat ill fire up

  • GAS IT UP!!!!

    HOTWIRE IT!!!

DRIVE IT HOME BEFORE A MUDSLIDE OR VANDALS DESTROY IT!!!!

  • This poor old Cat has been beaten to death over the years. The undercarriage is shot. That's why it was abandoned. It costs a fortune to replace the undercarriage so if it had some issues with the motor, transmission, or final drives then it's not worth pouring a bunch of money into. It is a shame to see it sitting there, abandoned.

  • there are so many things ive seen abandoned...abandoned cars, trucks, machine like these, houses, mansions, entertainment parks, carnivals, etc lol..BTW this cat you found looks like a giant piece of gold that just need some dust blown off. take that baby home!

  • RESCUE IT!

  • probably broken

  • It is really a shame that someone, so long ago, left this machine to rot away there. It seems that it could still be providing some useful purpose, if only it had been maintained.

I am sure there are a few folks out there who would get it off that property, just to restore it.

  • still looks good for how old it is

  • amazing

  • where is this abandoned mine at?

  • why would someone just leave it there makes no sence

  • Great find. Did you get it running?

  • now does she move

  • where is this i wanna go out there and look

  • Ooops no pony...dang!!!!

  • Start that fukker & take her home!!!!

  • @TUTUZGARAGESERVICE you got that right we used to have one we moved more dirt with that dam D8 than ive ever seen in my life. start it up and take it home i would if i knew where it was at

  • @ThEnExTjOhNwAlL She's an old Cat worth killing for....

  • @TUTUZGARAGESERVICE i totaly agree

  • @GangstababyJT See???? Folks agree with me...she's a fukkin' keeper!!!! scrap you'll get paid by the ton...D-8...the tractor alone weighs 25 tons. You can get more out of it by getting her running & working her than scrapping her...scrap is a 1 time deal...work is continuous. I scrapped the most old heavy equipment than anyone else in the Hawaiian Islands due to our contract with HMR (Hawaii Metal Recycling) & we were getting $40.00 a ton from 93-97. I think the price is 1/2 that now. RUN IT!!!!

  • Nice find still a good machine today when running. Phil

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!! u should tell people that fix old equiment about all the stuff u find

  • Thats pretty damn cool! I wonder what the story behind it is?

  • fucking sweet!

  • you will have to get in going and out of there
